Il termine è stato coniato qualche secolo fa, per descrivere gli oggetti che le tribù africane usavano come amuleti e talismani o nei loro rituali voodoo.

Un oggetto al quale si attribuivano poteri magici e soprannaturali; spesso erano usati per causare danno a persone, conferendo loro caratteristiche umane.

Come siamo arrivati al feticismo? Perché riporre un significato strettamente sessuale a una pratica tribale?

Per istinto, mi viene da rispondere con un classico: le culture occidentali, contaminate dal cristianesimo, hanno demonizzato tutto ciò che fosse tradizione popolare, culto, prima del suo avvento, creando il connubio demonio - sesso; il sesso ti separa da Dio.

Adorare un oggetto come fosse Dio.. mi viene da sorridere pensando ai cattolici che ADORANO oggetti come le croci o le reliquie, in maniera estatica. Lo possiamo definire un feticismo?

Quello che è stato demonizzato non è il solo sesso ma la pulsione primordiale dalla quale scaturisce il sesso, che ne è una delle sue molteplici espressioni.

La creatività e non la riproduzione ma anche la paura, in termini di energia, pulsione appunto, hanno origine “lì sotto” e da lì si diffondono.

Nelle tradizioni orientali, “quel punto” viene associato al primo chakra; la spinta creativa, il radicamento e l’eros.

Perché la paura ha origine in quel luogo, dove si diffonde l’amore, la spinta creativa per eccellenza? 

Perché la paura e l’amore sono la stessa cosa, vista da lati opposti; sono entrambe le facce della stessa medaglia.. come dio e il suo antagonista (non il diavolo, ne satana “il maligno” ma “quella cosa” che risiede al centro del lago ghiacciato, dove la materia si condensa - che secondo alcune antiche tradizioni è il principio femmineo di dio, curioso - ).

Mi oppongo a una definizione legata a significati fuorvianti; ci sono oggetti che mi suscitano una tale emozione, che riproduce quella sensazione lì ma che non è finalizzata al sesso e, per me sono dei veri feticci.

Le scatole; le rotoballe (devono essere rotonde, quelle a forma di parallelepipedo non mi entusiasmano come quelle tonde) e le pale eoliche.

Quando mi trovo davanti a questi oggetti, inizio a pulsare laggiù; io le chiamo le sfregole.

Vivo la vista dell’oggetto in questione, come qualcosa di paradisiaco, di divino, estasi pura.

Come sono arrivata a considerare le sfregole per quello che sono, è una storia altrettanto lunga e la racconterò la volta successiva; le sfregole oggi sono divertenti e suscitano in me euforia e curiosità.

Per uno di questi oggetti, sono risalita alle dinamiche mentali per le quali mi emoziono così tanto; per gli altri due oggetti, non ancora.

Le scatole suggestionano il mio subconscio con il linguaggio simbolico: rendere ordinate le apparenze, sottraendo alla vista il caos. E’ una forma di controllo, che lascia una scappatoia.

Ha generato un gran conflitto, ai suoi tempi: la sensazione di non mettere mai veramente in ordine, nascondendosi, facendo finta. 

Con infinita pazienza, sto imparando a sistemare anche i contenuti delle scatole, riponendo ogni cosa al posto che merita; è più semplice fare ordine in comparti di dimensioni minori, se davanti agli occhi hai lo spazio sgombero dalla confusione totale.”
