The monster spurted a mouthful of water over the Tang Priest and shouted "Change!" Sanzang's real body was hidden away and he was turned into a striped tiger to their mortal eyes. All fled in terror except a handful of gallant generals who charged the tiger, hacking wildly with every kind of weapon. After a turmoil that continued until evening they finally caught the tiger, chained it, and put it in an iron cage.

Animation for Treasure Planet done by Ken Duncan (Amelia), Sergio Pablos (Doppler), and T. Dan Hofstedt (Arrow).

From Ken Duncan's Instagram (better video quality btw): "The 20th Anniversary of Treasure Planet. Animation pencil test -Captain Amelia Another female character I’d animated who can go toe to toe with any of the other characters (smarter than them😉). This was a fun scene to work on, with the choreography between all 3 characters. Not exactly sure how we did this one, but I think I very quickly roughed out the first section of Amelia speaking to Doppler. Copies of my roughs were then given to Doppler’s animator Sergio Pablos who worked on his section while I roughed out her animation for the rest of the scene. Arrow’s animator, T. Dan Hofstedt, started right away and allowed me to work out Amelia’s reactions to Arrow, based on T. Dan’s work. With the rough pass of all characters approved we’d go back into the scene and tie-down the drawings, inbetween it, etc., making sure their eye direction was correct, and any physical contact, etc. It’s a bit of a process, but it’s great to animate characters who react to the performances created by another animator/character."
