RPThreadTracker Updates - I'm Still Here, Closing Patreon, and Other Info

Hello, friends! Happy 2025!

First allow me to apologize for having been quite off the radar recently; the last year was, to put it mildly, very chaotic for me and I have not had a ton of mental energy to put towards managing RPThreadTracker. That is, frankly, probably going to continue to be the case in the coming year as well.

While I'm not planning to close the app at the moment, I don't anticipate I'll be doing a ton of new development on it. A couple of associated notes:

I'm going to be closing the Patreon I have had running for the last couple years. I'm in a position now where I don't need the support to continue hosting, and I don't feel like it's reasonable to continue taking membership donations on Patreon when I'm not really producing any new development on the site. Thank you SO much to everyone who has contributed to me there over the last few years; your support has meant a ton. Paypal donations are still always welcome if you want to contribute, but I won't be taking regular Patreon donations anymore.

I have received a couple of messages from people asking for help recovering their account which I know I never followed up on. I will be trying to do so for some of those outstanding messages in the next week, but if you tried to reach me in the past for help logging in and did not receive a response, please feel free to message me again at rosalind@blackjack-software.com from the email associated with your account.

There have been some bug reports recently from people reporting issues with not all of their threads being loaded. In a lot of cases this seems to be happening to people who have had accounts for a long time and have built up enough threads that attempts to fetch all of them from Tumblr start getting throttled. While I hope to eventually do more work to improve performance in this regard, I recommend archiving, or exporting and then removing, some of your oldest threads if you are starting to encounter this issue.

Thanks again so much to those who have supported the app over the years and who are continuing to use it. I am sorry that I do not have more news to report as far as improvements to the app but I do hope that it continues to be useful to you all in its current form. Please do continue to feel free to reach out to me if you encounter issues unrelated to the above one.

SATURDAY MORNING in NAMHAE COUNTY with [ open starter ]

isak was born and raised in an urban paradise. any greenery he saw was always well-manicured, contained in neat little boxes or planters, tucked into convenient corners or adding a pop of color to an otherwise gray landscape. the animals he knew were small enough to fit into a purse, pampered to the point where they may as well be weird, furry children instead of a beast of any sort. he's never seen a sheep except for pictures on the internet. and now he stands in front of one, it's weird ovine eyes staring unblinkingly back at him, as if in challenge.

"actually," he hands the pail of feed over to one of the other boys in his chore group, his mouth suddenly dry as a new fear is discovered. "do you want to feed it? it's bigger than i thought it would be." he take a nervous look down at those hooves. as if reading his mind, the sheep stomps a foot. isak flinches. it appears he's unlocked a new, unexpected fear today!

he had been excited for this trip at first, mostly at the prospect of being in front of cameras. he thought he could steal the show no matter what challenges were set before them. how was isak supposed to know that his undoing would be a damn sheep? now, one night into the shoot, he really just misses sleeping in a familiar bed; he misses the lack of bugs, and not having to listen to no less than four different people all snore in different tunes as the trainees all packed into one house to film. one more night, he reminds himself. if he survives his encounter with this sheep, of course.

Oh, so Henry hadn't given it up; it was a relief. He simply didn't remember, which was odd since the mating chants were one of the most important things one would live through... The merfolk held it as precious and sacred words that weren't sung twice; a promise of a lifetime and—oh, oh, of course. It was quite obvious, com eto think of it... the merfolk that held it so dearly.

Which meant humans had no idea what the chants even meant, and he doubted they could make out the ancient words that had been said. The realization did strike hard at Basille. But he leaned forward to the other's touch, craving it. He had missed Henry so damn much. And for a moment, so unaware of what would become of them, he tried to sink the image in front of him—an apparently contained man, likely holding that wild child he had inside. There was something.... just missing there. Yet Basille adored him just the same.

"I think... I— I think there was somewhat of a... cultural shock," he offered, growing somewhat tense. But he was remembered, which was good... he was still liked.o human could fake this, right? And especially not his Henry. "You remember... I whispered a short verse before leaving, yes?" He offered. The words had been ancient and likely not recognizable to a human, but it still could have been heard. "Among mine, those are not common words; they are a wedding promise," he explained. And he remembered to use the human word for mating. It sounded way less intense, and yet, Basille loved the idea—

Basille found it cute how humans exchanged rings and vows and stood near the people they held dear. But he also feared it because, from what he had learned, many didn't wed out of love or devotion but out of duty and beholding others' interests. Well, he planned to love Henry out of pure love. "You will marry me... right?" he tried, eyes filled with expectation.

RPThreadTracker SSL Certificate Update

Hullo, folks - ty to those who reached out and let me know that RPThreadTracker is currently displaying a certificate error. My SSL certificate expired and the new one hasn't kicked in yet; should be resolved soon. Nothing's wrong with the site itself and you should still be able to use it if your browser allows you to bypass the error.

Mmmmmm not sure when I'm gonna break out of my hiatus but I've been on a huge GOW kick again bc of Valhalla so i've been feeling the Muse... kind of...

in the meantime; im probably going to clear out my askbox entirely. ive already archived all of my threads, because just. look at this.

yeah.

basically i think starting from a TRULY clean slate w/ EVERYTHING rp-wise would help. im also gonna drop a bunch of muses but im not sure which ones yet.
