Intro

This is a re-do of a blog for my main au! Been meaning to get this up and running, but just never had the time to do that. This is mainly where I'll be posting art for my au, as well as where I'll be posting the story.

I would use my main blog, but honestly I would like it to just be about the art I make, y'know?

By the way, this isn't going to be an ask blog...kinda. I'll let you know when I'll be taking questions, but for the most part I want to focus on getting the story of the AU told.

Branwen Black: Ranger from the far north, raised and taught by an elite squad of mercenaries and huntsmen known as the Blackguard. Has a strangely innate connection to ravens and wolves.

Clover Brandyburke: Lagomore knight in service to a powerful archfey. On a quest to avenge his honor after his fiance left him on the altar. Serious and severe, and also naive to the mortal world.

Dariax Dendarrow: Goliath former bandit chief, abandoned after a disgraceful defeat to a young adventurer. Seeking to grow stronger to challenge the young adventurer again and defeat him.

The Devils of Emon: Based out of the Exandrian city of Emon, a band of adventurers named such for the surprisingly high number of tieflings in their crew.

Aquamarine: Tiefling rogue with ambitions to be the best thief in the region. Came to Emon and was immediately arrested for pickpocketing. Has an affinity for gems and trinkets.

Gamora Great-Bear: Orc warrior woman on a mission to find love, but just finding powerful monsters to defeat. Was similarly arrested, this time for exhibitionism, which she will do again.

Jeanne Ironwood: Woman driven by losses in her childhood to dragons. Trained by Percy DeRolo as an expert gunslinger and markswoman, and known for her cold and calculating demeanor.

Kyrie Targana: Tiefling performer who lost her arms to an abusive slaver. Was previously in a circus troupe with Omega and Thorne, and is now in a romantic relationship with Scourge.

Omega: Tiefling magician in a heated relationship with his succubus patron. Younger brother of Thorne. Definitely the most problem-attracting member of the crew.

Captain Scourge Maelstrom: Tiefling pirate captain and champion of the seas. Unofficial leader of the Devils, and the founding member. Captain of The Sea Devil, and tends to stay on his ship.

Thorne: Tiefling brawler known for getting drunk and getting into fights. Older brother of Omega. The most bristly member of the crew, often gets into fights with Jeanne late into the night.

Varris Alwyn: Tiefling warrior in loyal service to the Everlight. Seemingly ageless, and has a constant bet in the background by the rest of the Devils over whether he's really a dragon or an angel.

Verdant Wilde: Tiefling huntsman trained personally by Vex'ahlia DeRolo. Sent to Emon to keep an eye on things in Greystone Keep. Ended up forming a new adventuring crew alongside Jeanne.

Galatea the Golden-Scaled: Gladiatrix known for her gleaming golden battlekini. Left her life in the arena after repelling a raid on the city, seeing she could set out and do good elsewhere.

Jade Higurashi: Tiefling monk who was previously training to become a powerful sage for a local temple. After being thrown out, she turned to drinking and fighting to fill the gap they left.

Jaerik Aldraeyds: Changeling on a mission to find her true father in the Feywild. Unfortunately, her own naturally high libido and trend for falling to her enemy's lusts has delayed her quest incredibly.

Khadamori the Unbroken: Ulitharid warrior who was held in bondage by his own kin for most of his life. Eventually broke free and became a liberation leader, fighting to free slaves throughout the Underdark.

Korrin Vasailiis: Elven sorceress who made a deal with a demon to survive a horrible fate, and became a vampire in the process. Now on a quest to find new purpose, as her life is even longer than expected.

Lorelei Astolas: Tiefling lady of the night based out of Emon, a long-time rival and long-distance friend of the Ruby of the Sea. Known similarly as the Lady of Pearls for her pearlescent skintone.

Onyx the Shadowhand: Black Dragonborn rogue whose talents for theft and throwing down with thugs has been turned to aid and protect the less fortunate. Has a soft spot for children.

Peregrine Weis: Tiefling warrior woman who was once a faithful weapon for a zealous church, but left when they murdered her wife. Now trying to make up for her loss, and find who she is without faith.

Riot Doomthighs: Goblin bard with a love for heavy metal music and a wild devotion to the death god Xyrnyxrys. Also known for wearing very suggestive (but still protective) armors during her performances.

Serena Clyffe: Former noble lady who fled her home after accidentally frying her would-be betrothed with lightning. Now on the run from the law, and experiencing the world for the first time. Absolutely loves storm chasing.

Terra Verdell: Wood elven druid who has never lived in high society and wants to experience all that she can of it. Left her home in the forests to seek fun. Has found plenty by way of encounters with monsters along the way.

Twilight Obsidia: Tiefling from the Shadowfell who left her abusive family to seek a better life. Currently trying to live her life as a witch in the woods, doing good for the locals and farmers.

Variax Frosthollow: White dragonborn warrior, strongest in his clan, with a destiny to become a true dragon. Was the son of a dragon himself, but was only a dragonborn rather than his true heir.

Velvetina Gingersnaps: Lagomore witch from the Feywild with a desire to see the world. Also with a desire to avoid all of the felonies and fines waiting for her in the Feywild for her past antics.

Wilder Evergreen: Tiefling-orc huntsman with a bone to pick with an archfey. Grew up in woods that neighbored the Feywild, and his sisters were taken when wandering in them. Out for blood.

Willow Wellmeadow: Lagomore druid settled in the mortal plane. Protector of the dense woodlands and warden of a portal to the Feywild. Tends to be kind and welcoming to visitors.

Xakos Duskwalker: Half-orc gunslinger and gunmaker. Studied in ancient artificing and restoration of mythical mechanisms. Had his research stolen and spread out, and is out to take it back.

Yora Vor'ziira: Dark elf rogue who was kept as a slave by her own kind and forced to fight in bloody combats. Was eventually helped free by a human slave, and now wanders the surface world seeking a home.

Zhekhar O'Shevaqt: Efreet lord, master of slaves and of coin in the City of Brass. Known for being incredibly charismatic and devilishly handsome. Also known for spoiling his toys utterly rotten.

Zurrak Hellbellows: Red Dragon, often in a human guise. Considered the King of Dragons, and reigns from a long-dormant volcano he has fashioned into a castle. Intent on conquest, and claiming more wealth.

Name: Jurei Decker

Nicknames: Jay. Growing up in a village in Thanalan with a population predominantly made up of Hyurs that didn't have a strong grasp on Hingan language, Jurei proved to be too difficult to pronounce properly, so people started calling her Jay and it ended up sticking.

Age: 22 by the end of Dawntrail.

Nameday: 29th Sun of the 6th Umbral Moon.

Race: Raen Au Ra, originally from Sui no Sato.

Gender: Female.

Orientation: Asexual Bi-romantic.

Profession: She started off as a Gladiator/Paladin originally before following the path of the Dark Knight. Now unable to truly be able to be classified as one or the other, she has adopted the title of Mystic Knight. She's also a medical doctor by trade.

Hair: Auburn/Dark orange with streaks of white.

Eyes: She has one emerald green eye with a purple limbal ring and one red eye.

Skin: Her skin is tan from growing up in a desert for most of her life.

Tattoos/scars: She has a scar running across her face from her battle with Zenos in Yanxia.

F A M I L Y

Parents: Jay never knew her biological parents. Due to a vague omen that decreed that any twin born to the Shisui family be "disposed of", it was decided that, as the younger twin, Jay would be the one who would be put to death.

Mother: Unknown. Presumed dead.

Father: Unknown. Presumed dead.

Foster Father: Kansui Nagare - The former captain of the Guard of Shisui of the Violet Tides. After being given the order to to kill the child whose only crime was existing, he realized he couldn't go through with it and instead ran away, taking the girl with her. He would go on to raise her as her father until his death during the Seventh Umbral Calamity.

Foster Mother: Mara Decker - A Hyuran doctor and widow living in Thanalan, she met Kansui a year after his escape from the Ruby Sea. After nursing him and the infant Jay back to health after the two were found near death in the desert, she convinced him to stay in her village. Soon after, the two fell in love and Mara took the responsibility of raising Jay as her mother.

Siblings: Kurenai Shisui - Jay's long lost older twin sister and the current Ruby Princess. She had no knowledge of her younger twin's existence until her mother confided in her on her deathbed. The two would not meet until the events of Stormblood where Jay helped her free the Violet Tides from the Voidsent's grasp and wake Hisui from her slumber.

Foster sibling: Talan Decker - The son of Mara and her previous husband before his untimely death.

Grandparents: None living.

Foster grandparents: Roarich Fairclough - The father of Mara Decker and Jay's foster grandfather.

In-laws and Other:

Haurchefant Greystone - Jay's first and former lover. The two met during the events of A Realm Reborn where the two quickly developed feelings for one another. Jay hadn't spoken a single word since the death of her father during the Seventh Umbral Calamity and it was Haurchefant was the one who helped her begin to speak again. When she felt as though she couldn't trust anyone after the Bloody Banquet, Haurchefant was the only person she could confide in. His death in her arms shook her to her core, causing her to close herself up once again.

Yugiri Mistwalker - Her current significant other. After spending a not too insignificant amount of time with her during the events of post Heavensward and Stormblood, Jay found herself developing feelings for this Shinobi from the East. However, as she was still deeply mourning the death of Haurchefant, she felt as though she didn't deserve to love someone else like that ever again. The only problem was, after the two ambushed Zenos, the crown prince of the Garlean Empire, Yugiri found herself developing feelings for Jay in return. The idea of finding love again scared Jay so much that she began to avoid and shun Yugiri in the hopes that the latter would fall out of love with the former. After a pretty harsh wakeup call, Jay realized how foolish she had been, but the damage had already been done. Their relationship had been strained significantly, but after a deep, heartfelt apology, the two began to attempt to mend their relationship. Jay still hadn't moved on from what happened in Ishgard and she knew she wasn't ready for a relationship yet, but the two could still be friends, or at least be friendly with one another.

Then, Jay had left for the First, where she was there for a year. During her time away, she realized that her feelings for the Shinobi had only deepened in her absence. Upon her and the Scions' return to the Source, Jay wasted no time in traveling to Doma where she found Yugiri and passionately confessed her love to her. Without a word, Yugiri interrupted her with a kiss and the two had been together ever since.

After the events of Endwalker, the two proposed to one another and are now eagerly awaiting their wedding day.

Yunagi and Ihanami - Yugiri's mother and father. Jay met them during the events of Stormblood and later on, she would go visit them personally to ask for their approval for their daughter's hand in marriage, to which they both accepted.

Hisui Sui - Jay's and Kurenai's distant relative and closest confidant of the Ruby Princess. Jay doesn't know her too well, but she was one of a small group of people that was present when Jay's true lineage and her blood relation to Kurenai was revealed.

Pets: She has a pet lesser panda named Tomoe, as well as a mameshiba named Yumi. However, contradictory to how she was advertised, Yumi did not stay small for long. She grew and grew and grew until she got really big. Big enough to be used as a mount, even.

S K I L L S

Abilities: From a young age, Jay learned how to use a bow, which she was very proficient in. However, after her father's death, she couldn't bring herself to pick up a bow again for years. Years later, at the start of the Seventh Astral Era, she traveled to Ul'Dah where she learned how the way of the sword and shield from Mylla Stormsong of the Gladiator's Guild, and later, the Paladin Jenlyns. Some time later, under the tutelage of Fray and later Sidurgu, Jay learned how to use a greatsword, as well as how to channel the dark aether within her to great effect. Later still, during the events of Endwalker, she and Alphinaud Leveilleur learned from one another on how to master the set of Nouliths they each received. As someone with a weak connection to the Aether like Jay, they make it much easier to use magic. And now, she has recently swapped out her shield for a second sword, mastering the way of the Viper, as well as learning how to use paint of all things to channel Aether, becoming a Pictomancer. Recently, after the events of Shadowbringers, Jay began to recover from her past traumas and began to use a bow again, becoming a talented Bard.

Hobbies: Jay loves to cook and sing. Every now and again, she'll put on a show for the kids in the Doman Enclave or cook a delicious meal for Yugiri. After becoming a Sage, she also opened up a medical practice where she works as a doctor, curing people of what ails them at no cost.

T R A I T S

Most Positive Trait: At this point in her life, Jay is always willing to help out in any way she can, even if it's to her own detriment.

Most Negative Trait: She often doesn't take other people's feelings into consideration when she does things. She doesn't really think about how others would feel if Jay got hurt or worse whenever she rushes head first into danger and when she wants to do something nice, she'll usually just have her own idea of how people would react to what she does. Sometimes it goes well, other times, it doesn't.

Characters: Seiro Malkavi, Emet Selch, mentions of Shiramune, Haurchefant and Zenos.

Synopsis: If only for a moment, Seiro relinquishes his duty to create one last memory.

Setting: The Tempest, Amaurot.

‘Quick and painless. A clean strike through the heart to end his pain.’

Such was the chant of words that had drifted repeatedly through Seiro’s mind this past hour like a desperate prayer. But did he seek to end Emet Selch’s pain or his own? The thought of his loss burned with white hot agony deep in his chest, more so than the corruption of light that sought to consume his will. Shiramune Mol, Haurchefant Greystone…Why must he add another beloved’s name to the death ledger?

Everything that passed by his two-toned eyes felt like a blur of deep blue and black – like a picture of melancholy. He ran with labored breathes throughout the recreated city of Amaurot populated only with the slow motions of the Amaurotine shades that strolled by, seemingly unaware of the foundations of their existence.

Already, the others had begun to sense his hesitation no matter how he sought to compose himself. And every evening that man awaited him upon a bench, gloved hands clasped together, and head lowered with a knowing little smirk near the front of the Pendants Suite. Every evening, unable to deny the rapturous company, Seiro had invited him in.

“Enough! I know what I must do...”

Seiro had a dagger hidden in the length of his long boot. A surprise attack with everything he had left him in would surely work the best. He took in a sobering breath with brows furrowed and determination set in him when he burst through the double doors of the tall building. Only earlier, Seiro had seen Emet heading towards this place in an unsteady gait.

Suddenly, everything felt twisted in the sweetest of dreams and all his senses swallowed up in an inviting haze of rich gold and emerald. A grand ballroom filled with such a grandeur that he could not adequately wrap his mind around, wishing he could recall the freedom of open plains and the high inclines of mountains to explore. The soothing sounds of his father’s morin khuur.

The ballroom lay filled with a lively plethora of those same Amaurotine shades all dressed in lavishly decorated suits and long dresses spinning in perfect flow to the music and rhythm to the elegant waltz. Without fail, that same feeling occupied Seiro as it did on any special occasion – feeling out of place and unwilling to approach those set to the rhythm of the motions.

From the corner of his eye, Seiro had seen the dashingly handsome man make his way over with the outline of a black mask around his eyes, bedazzled with a glittering arrangement of ruby stones that were set in a glyph-like pattern, outfitted in black velveteen robes much like his own.

Resolutely, he had turned to escape through the double doors from wince he came – To look him even once in the eyes would be his undoing. But it was not long before the firm hand closing over his shoulder stopped him. As usual, Seiro felt as if caught in quicksand in emotions that sank him ever deeper with every moment passed in his presence.

“We *cannot* continue like this. Let me go.”

“Please, give me this. One last dance together…” The unexpected plea from Emet, quite unlike all he had seen so far, spoke volumes to his deep-seated anguish.

Unable to deny him, Seiro turned slowly to meet with the warmth of those hands he had come to know so well and crave beyond all reason, “I do not know how to dance. Not like this.” Zenos had been right about him. Seiro only felt the temptation of dance swell with a blade in hand and the promise of blood to spill-both he and his opponent teetering on the edge of life and death.

“You do know. You remembered after all.”

Emet spoke the words in such a sense of comfort like that sentiment alone was a relief to him. And this too was true – the moment that the air filled with a slow and sensual rhythm; he began to feel the steps come so naturally to him.

Seiro placed his left hand over to slink over his right shoulder with the firm press of a palm along his back in guidance. Their free hands came to interlock together to let the ascian take the lead, the xaela's long black tail swaying behind him all the while.

A swirling bliss of sights and sounds that cast away all his doubts and the painful throb in his chest from earlier subsiding. All that mattered was in the here and now in a moment they shared alone. Seiro lost himself in the elegance of the movements when they finally took their place amongst the dancers like the missing piece of a puzzle that should have been there from the beginning.

A part of him wished to never leave this little piece of cloud nine, but it would never leave his memory.

❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?

I answered this one here, but this just means I get to give another favorite line! (Edit: It helps if I actually put another favorite line in here. Norns.)

Okay, this one's a little dirty, and it's from Here comes the sun, and I say it's alright (Bucky/Tony one-shot):

“Handsome, I had your dick in my mouth at least four times last night.  I’m pretty sure morning breath’s not a deal breaker,” Tony retorted, giving Bucky that cheeky, one-sided smile. 

💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?

I answered this one, but I think if I could change other canon things, one thing I'd want to change is the whole Civil War Tony-Steve-Bucky bullshit. Steve would've trusted Tony enough to tell him ahead of time that he suspected that Bucky killed Tony's parents but that Bucky was under conditioning and torture and control while doing it. Tony would've had that moment to be angry about it, and then Tony would've proven that he's got the biggest heart in the universe by telling Steve that they'd find Bucky together and help him. This is what I would change, and it's not going against Tony's character to believe that he'd do just that if Steve had just been a fucking grown-up about it and been honest.

🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?

From my Scott/Logan Halloween adoptable "The House in the Mist." I can't wait to finish this one. The adoptable prompt is "Lovecraftian horror."

While they approached the turn off from the main road in, Scott stretched his arms over his head and yawned.  He shook his head to clear away the last of the cobwebs from his nap and started to feel the aches and restlessness from the long drive in which he’d remained the passenger, no matter how many times he’d offered to drive before he’d finally passed out.  As he brought his arms down again, his left hand brushed through the back of Logan’s hair and down to rest against the back of his neck, his thumb absently stroking along the side where he felt a momentary quickening of his boyfriend’s pulse.  Scott looked out the window in front and to the side, taking in Black Rock’s residents going to or from work, biking, walking, heading into shops or restaurants along the way, catching the way they watched them and thinking they weren’t obvious about it. 

Scott had been stared at a good chunk of his life, though, especially when he had to start wearing permanent ruby-lensed glasses, which made him a little more noticeable.  Not as much as Kurt or Hank were, but nonetheless, he stood out. 

“So, why were we sent in to investigate this place?” Logan asked just as he took the Greystone turn. 

“Because Em said she picked up –“

Logan shook his head and interjected, “No no, I get it.  She picked up an intelligence she thinks might be mutant.  I mean, why us specifically?  She could’ve come in herself with Steve if they still wanted to play the couple angle.  Tony and Loki could’ve come in.  Barnes and Barton...Nat and Banner.”  He paused, thought about it, and laughed.  “Yeah, maybe Banner wouldn’t’ve been ideal.  But there were other couple choices.”

Brushing his fingers along Logan’s neck a few seconds longer before dropping his hand to once more rest against Logan’s thigh, Scott turned his attention to this new street, studying what shops and eateries lined it. 

“We aren’t as well-known.  Or recognizable, to be more precise.  Everyone knows Steve on first sight.  Same with Tony, and it’s not as if Loki hasn’t picked up his own fame along the way, especially once he and Tony started dating.  Though he can shapeshift if he needs to look like someone else, but still.  Tony’s on the cover of so many magazines that he couldn’t do unrecognizable unless his boyfriend spelled him to...or unless either he had tech to change his appearance or he trusted S.H.I.E.L.D. to tart him up a bit,” Scott answered. 

Letting out a yawn as he followed the curving road around the edge of town, Logan cast a quick side-eye at Scott before huffing out a chuckle. 

“Don’t say ‘tart him up’, darlin’.  Sounds weird comin’ out of your mouth,” he teased and laughed louder when Scott swatted his denim-clad arm. 

“Be nice.  Don’t make me have to ruin our cover by requesting a different room for our anniversary,” Scott fussed playfully, eyeing Logan across the front seat.  He stroked his knuckles along Logan’s jaw, his heart beating a little faster when his man tilted his head to nuzzle into his touch. 

Logan made a noise reminiscent of a frustrated Rottweiler, but he turned his head just enough to nip at Scott’s fingers before brushing his lips to the tips of them. 

“I’ll be nice, but you’ve gotta admit that when we met, that wasn’t the way ya used to talk,” he conceded, giving his boyfriend the side-eye. 

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

I also answered this one here, and I don't think I'd add a lot to the other list of what I'd want to see fanart of, though suffice it to say that I'd really be honored and squeal a lot if people felt inspired enough by my writing to do fanart of any of it.

“Hello boys~” the sinfully smooth voice of Ruby the Reveler rolled out over the lively living room of Greystone Keep, the magenta-pink-skinned Tiefling leaning on the doorway. “Would any of you mind giving me a hand~? I have so much stuff I need moved into my bedroom, and I want to be sure I’ll be comfortable here~”

Both Varris and Omega stood wide eyed, mouth agape a tad too long. Verdant had gotten to the sexy sinful Tiefling first. "I'll happily give you a hand~"

I pass a building. Dull greystone, four police cars our front. No ambulance yet, and the police cars are devoid of sirens. A void where a happening was once. Closed windows. Shuttered doors. No one is looking out. No one comes outside. I glimpse a few faces, of people pretending to be unseen.

I pull up my jacket and walk on.

The streets slowly become crowded. I find myself wondering if the vehicles outnumber the people. Not my thought. Not me. I buy a bottle of bottled water, which Ed’s mom says is the only sin.

Drinking it helps, or I convince myself it does. Where does a talisman even begin?

Sam is beside me. I never saw her arrive. She is ruby in a world of dull red. I don’t see wings, when I look over. Her eyes are onyx today, her clothing fit only for a blonde in a b-movie.

“You look better?” she says.

“I don’t know how I feel.”

“Most people do not.”

“Even those who are not people?”

She smiles, in a way that seems victim and pretends to be kind. I don’t see fangs. She doesn’t need them. “We are all people, unless you’re definitions are too narrow?”

“I don’t –.” The water bottle is crumpled slightly in my grip, an origami construct formed after a nuclear attack. “I don’t know what is happening to me.” “Godwin knows that, perhaps, of those like you.
