Cine: Running With Scissors (2006)

No esperes mucha cordura de ninguno de los personajes que aquí verás. El filme (conocido en Latinoamérica como “Recortes de mi vida”), cortesía de Ryan Murphy (creador de la galardonadísima serie “Glee” y otros sucesos televisivos como “American Horror Story”, “Pose” y “Scream Queens”), está basado en las memorias de Augusten Burroughs, un muchacho que ha tenido una infancia peculiar, por no decir desquiciada. 

El primer recuerdo, proveniente de 1972, lo muestra escuchando el extenso poema de su madre Deirdre (Annete Benning), una literata con más ínfulas que éxito. El pequeño de seis años (interpretado por Jack Kaeding) nunca ha pisado la escuela y su vida se reduce a su apasionada relación con su madre. Seis años más tarde entra en escena el Dr. Finch (Brian Cox), un psiquiatra que comienza atendiendo a Deirdre de su ansiedad apremiante y acaba iniciándola en una adicción a los psicofármacos, recomendándole el divorcio de su marido alcohólico Norman (Alec Baldwin) e instándole a permitir que Augusten (ahora interpretado por Joseph Cross) viva con su familia por un tiempo.

A poco de pisar la casa, cuya suciedad extrema la convertiría en una pesadilla para cualquier afectado por TOC, el muchacho ya sabe que Finch es un peligro para la salud mental de todo aquel que lo conozca (sea paciente o no) y que, en comparación, los Addams parecen normales. Todo el mundo allí parece desquiciado: su esposa Agnes (Jill Clayburgh), siempre deprimida y consumidora de alimento balanceado para perros; su aparentemente cuerda hija mayor Hope (Gwyneth Palthrow) y su otra hija, aún apegada al desquicio en el que vive, Natalie (Evan Rachel Wood). Y aún hay alguien más que no aparece en escena: Neil Bookman (Joseph Fiennes), otro hijo, adoptivo y rechazado, de Finch y que se convertirá en la primera pareja de Augusten. Aspecto más que polémico, puesto que Neil es adulto y el muchacho, recordemos, aún no ha cumplido los quince años.

El reparto, abundante en figuras hoy estelares, incluye a Kristin Chenoweth (Fern, amante de Deirdre), Gabrielle Union (Dorothy, otra amante de la madre de Augusten), Patrick Wilson (Michael Shepard, agente del fisco) y Coleen Camp (Joan, miembro del taller de poesía).

here are some like... lambs from people I admire...but when I got to literally my favorite one I could NOT do it it's too hard it's too complicated I literally cannot wrap my head around the shapes and anatomy and I'm not saying it's bad no it's just so complex and good that I can't do even mimic it because I don't have enough experience and it has made me lose all motivation to continue...maybe I'll do more tomorrow or not... probably not.

also I probably won't post (recent) art for a while because I'm going to be working on a commission...and also I just, this just has made me realize I need to practice and study art more or else I'll feel unhappy with my art and spiral okay ty for reading if u have it's fine...

TRIPPINGWITHKNIVES

TrippingWithKnives is a defunct branch of RunningWithScissors studios made specifically for the translating and localization of the postal games.

Currently, only one project was started and was left unfinished as funding was cut, this blog was created to be an archive of the found TrippingWithKnives media provided by the former devs and concept artists.

We are currently taking any submissions of found screenshots, concept art, beta builds, and any other TrippingWithKnives related media.

Current projects:

-recover concept art for the localized POSTAL2: french version

-recover the unfinished build of POSTAL2: french version beta

-recover any main story plots and character entries in POSTAL2: french version

Entries found:

- OuiOui [french localized Krotchy] concept art, vague idea of where he places in the game, needs more data

- ThePostalGuy [french localized Postal Dude] most concept art has been found. We have a better idea of who he is and what he does in the story than most of the other characters.

-postal babes: cupid and blossom. Only known information is that cupid takes the place of The Bitch and ThePostalGuy has a negative opinion of her, despite being in a relationship with her. Blossom has little to no information.

It may not have the playability of Eternal Damnation, but A Very Postal Christmas has THE most soul out of all total conversion Postal 2 mods. Oagh is a genius. Supposedly you could play the mod in the old Postal 2 anniversary cereal box release, but I can't prove it. I remember working for hours straight trying to get the original mod file to work on my Steam version of Postal 2. Pain in the fucking ass to make it happen but when it loaded in properly I had the best mod experience I ever had. Brilliant map layout, hilarious circumstances, alluring custom graphics and textures, plethora of weapon mods combined into the one mod... Bloody brilliant

This was probably my best wallpaper so far, I tried to obscure the Dude’s face mostly like how RWS did in most art of Postal Dude in Redux and 1, and giving credit where credit is due, the skin was made by MetalManDan on PlanetMinecraft, The lens dirt is from Unturned, and, if you can see it at all (I’m honestly not sure if it’s even still there after all the postprocessing), the grass is from Valve Software’s Half Life 2. Have a nice day!
