Classroom of the Elite: Review

Classroom of the Elite is a Psychological Thriller Japanese light novel written by Shogo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose and was adapted into an anime television series produced by Lerche. The first episode aired in 2017 which already had a fanbase prior to its adaptation, the second season aired from July 2022 to September 2022. Positive results from the first two seasons led to the release of the third season in January 2024

Koudo Ikusei Senior High School is a prestigious high school with nearly one hundred percent placement in either University or in the corporate world with its state-of-the-art facilities. the school, however, has a unique system where the students are given points based on their behavior, merits, achievements, and other factors. These points then can be used to buy goods and services on the campus while their connection with the outside world is cut off.

The main protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji wants a quiet high school life and wants to make friends but as the story unfolds one can tell his drive to be in the school goes deeper than what is on the surface meaning he wants a life away from his father. He was placed in class D because he scored 50 out of hundred in his entrance exam. Suzune Horikita is one of the main characters in the series and upon introduction, it was clear that she wanted to climb the social hierarchy ladder. Unlike Ayanokoji, she wanted to do nothing with social constructs like friendship, this was one of the reasons why she was placed in class D. Although she was good academically, she just couldn’t work with others, she also worked towards one goal, which was to be recognized by her own brother who is also the school council president, Manabu Horikita.

Kei Karuizawa is yet another main protagonist and is considered to be the class leader because of her strong personality and becoming the girlfriend of Yosuke Hirata who was considered as the class representative. Kei had her fair share of secrets under the mask that she would rather keep to herself than let anyone know. Arisu Sakayanagi is another female lead and she is the class representative of Class A, her connection with Ayanokoji is yet to be revealed. Kikyō Kushida is a major antagonist of the anime, she befriends everyone with only one intention in her mind relating to Horikita. Kakeru Ryūen another antagonist of the anime and the class representative of class C. He is a rather well-known delinquent and is also known to lead his class through fear rather than trust.

Koudo Ikusei Senior High School has its students divided into four sections based on its own ranking from class A being the highest, to class D being at the bottom also known as the defective classroom. Each class is initially allotted equal amounts of points which were used to buy everything on campus however after the first class they have to earn these points based on various factors like behavior, achievements, etc. Ayanokoji who was initially an indifferent person makes it clear to the viewers that he possesses some unique abilities and intelligence. He alone navigated and found the complexities of the point systems. He makes alliances with various students to help him do what he wants. The anime explores the personal growth and development of various other characters as they face challenges presented by the school environment. This is anime consists various hidden agendas to keep its viewers intrigued and always leave them asking for more. The characters' true motivations and backgrounds are uncovered as the narrative unfolds. The school encourages intense competition among students, leading them to gain various useful skills. The school itself holds secrets and characters discover mysteries and hidden elements within the institutions.

Dogengers Members

Over the past 4 years the membership of the Dogengers go from 6 members + something of a reserve member to a roster of 9-12 members. In this post, we're going to quickly highlight those members.

KitaQman is a hero of Kitakyushu, who doesn't like to fight due to his body being stiff, his real name is Taki Yuki. He prefers using SNS to do promotion and trolling Yabai Kamen, but does have a sword and gun weapon. His Buddy Buddy Buster has its safety engaged, and has warnings on it when it's disengaged. His original KitaQMachine was destroyed by Great Z, and for a while he used a temporary kiddy car as the KitaQMachine before eventually receiving a new KitaQMachine. When he needs to get serious he switches to a red suit for his Jyuketsu Form

Representing Yamashiro Gas Sales Department Hero Division, Redron, Aoiron and Daidairon educate on proper cooking using LP Gas, and travel to work in the Yarashicar. Redron is responsible and kind, Aoiron is the cooler but more sensitive one, and Daidairon is the most passionate about eating. Each can use the Cutnutlass Sword and the Toshindai Oshioki-shiki Pipe Wrench, but only Daidairon is strong enough to use the Donkiinron hammer. When they require more strength, with approval from Yamashiro Gas CEO Crazy Otsuka, they are able to fuse into Yamashiron, who only has only 1.3 times their individual strength. After he swallowed a portion of the Golden Seal he was permanently upgraded into Tsuyobi Mode, with increased fire power. Yamashiron modified his Buddy Buddy Buster with flamethrower parts especially.

Tengen no Yusha El Brave is a masked wrestler who fights as a hero as well. He uses his Champion Form once by wearing his belt and cape. He is sensitive about his height and works with the Yahata Contruction team on sites. He has a car associated with Udon Hirata. His personal Buddy Buddy Buster has cloth wrappings around the grips.

Fukuokaken Fukuokaliber is the most serious hero of the original Dogengers, having the longest career among them. He wields the swords Kenran and Ryuen, and his suit is made through traditional Hakata-ori techniques. For 8 years until shortly before Dogengers he used an older suit, but remains a dedicated hero even if forced to use his old look. His personal Buddy Buddy Buster is modified with a Teru-Teru Bozu

so many surprising stuffs happening in classroom of the elite season 3 episode 8 🥹 they could actually raise up to become the best anime i've watched this year so far.

spoilers alert, but here we go:

ryuen is saved from expulsion

i was pretty curious with how he will be saved in this exam. seeing previous episodes, i know ryuen has the highest chance to be expelled, however he didn't do anything at all.

i am not a big fan of how ryuen lead his class, but he is surely the only chance for C class to raise up to A class, and seeing him gone would surely be very devastating for me. i was actually surprised with ibuki and ishizaki who still tries to save him until the end, and it really shows the power that he has

hirata's real face exposed

the perfect guy in D class finally showed his real face. it's so surprising to see him break down in public. but it's so intriguing at the same time to see his past and trauma. looking forward to see this in the future

ibuki's potential crush on ryuen?

i had never expected any romantic relationship of feelings out of these two seeing how tough ibuki and ryuen's are. but seeing how ibuki slowly loosen up to save ryuen just made me so shocked. cant wait to see more of the potential relationship here and what they can do together

ugh. literally the best anime i've watched this year so far. and this is only episode 8 out of 13 🥹

ok....he is NOTHING like ryuen...damn. I kinda....idk why but I hate these guard dog kinda characters. and tbh, the opposing villains are so literally 'evil' and strength-obsessed that it doesn't feel much realistic of a high school. I mean Bofurin is not realistic either, yet it's an interesting concept. but the villains are.....way too simple? regardless I'm interested in Kotoha's backstory and awaiting to know more about the classmates as well.

overall, great episode.
