Hi there! I’m sorry to bother you. But i recently watched Gentleman Jack and fell in love with Ann(e)! Ann Walker is my heart and she should be protected at all costs lol. I found myself in a rabbit hole off all thing GJ and I noticed you are extremely knowledgeable in the life of Anne Lister I was wondering if any of the books you’ve read focused on AL’s relationship with AW? I just love them together and would love to know more about their life. Thank you!

Hello! If you are mostly interested in the Ann(e)s relationship and if you’re new to the Anne Lister world I’d say the best book to start with is the companion book of the show “Gentleman Jack: The Real Anne Lister” by Anne Choma. It focuses on the period we see in the show, mostly on the Ann(e)s relationship from courtship to marriage. It’s good to start with because it does have diary entries and quotes but the author explains everything you need to know to better understand the time period and Anne’s position/situation/attitude etc.

• Gentleman Jack: The Real Anne Lister (Anne Choma) This is the companion book. Good to start with especially if you’re interested in the show and in the Ann(e)s relationship (mostly focused on the courtship).

Other 2 books to check out are “Nature’s Domain” & “Female Fortune” by Jill Liddington. These 2 are basically very little edited journal entries with very little commentary. They are maybe “harder” to read because not everything is explained and some things need a little bit of interpretation.

• Nature’s Domain: Anne Lister and the Landscape of Desire (Jill Liddington) All about 1832. It’s basically all journal, very little commentary, all about Anne Lister courtship of Ann Walker (this is my personal favourite).

• Female Fortune: The Anne Lister Diaries and Other Writings 1833-36: Land, Gender and Authority (Jill Liddington) Again, it’s all journal entries and it focuses on the period of her life that goes from 1833 to 1836 (estate management, Ann Walker moving in, marriage, Anne, Ann, Marian, Aunt Ann & Anne’s father all living together at Shibden, etc.).

I Love You, Man (2009)

I Love You, Man is a American romantic comedy film written and directed by John Hamburg, based on a script by Larry Levin. The film stars Paul Rudd as a friendless man looking for a best man for his upcoming wedding. However, his new best friend is straining his relationship with his bride.

The film was released theatrically in North America on March 20, 2009, to mostly positive reviews. It opened second at the box office next to Knowing, and was a modest hit, grossing $92 million on a $40 million budget. This movie marks the third collaboration between Jason Segel and Paul Rudd, who had worked together on Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Peter Klaven, a Los Angeles real estate agent, proposes to his girlfriend Zooey Rice, and she accepts. Peter seems to not have any close friends to share the good news with, only family and mainly female acquaintances. After overhearing Zooey’s friends voicing their concerns over his lack of close male friends, Peter decides that he needs to find male friends in order to have a best man for the upcoming wedding.

Peter turns to his gay younger brother, Robbie, for advice on dealing with men. He makes a series of overtures toward various men, including Barry, the persistently hot-headed husband of Zooey’s friend Denise who doesn’t really like Peter all that much to begin with, a problem that only escalates when Peter inadvertently projectile-vomits on Barry after winning a beer-drinking contest.

Jack Crabtree: The destructo-toddler has now aged up into.... a sweet child.

Jill Crabtree: Our lovebug, water-dwelling toddler. She must have really loved going on those playdates as a toddler because now she wants to make as many friends as possible!

Jack and Jill will sometimes just sit like this. I don't pose them - I don't even have my poses in game 99.99% of the time.

It's Bailey's birthday! Of course, Willow stayed up all night putting up streamers and balloons. Orange, of course, since that's Bailey's favorite color.

She also bought her a brand new outfit as a gift. To be honest, these kids only get special things on their birthdays and holidays since there are so many of them - but she found the cutest little sweater dress on plopsy and it seemed Bailey's style!

And look how GOOD she looks in it! (Jack and Jill both wanted to give Bailey happy birthday! hugs and kisses. They also made her some homemade crafts for her birthday, but that's not pictured.)

Bailey's birthday falls on a Monday. She got to take the day off from school, but of course the boys still had to go. Noah used that opportunity to shop for a gift at the school supplies store. A private journal!

She pretty instantly put it to good use. Willow prepared some food and a birthday cake (she's not aging up because of my custom aging system, but house parties always need cake and it's about the AMBIANCE) and Bailey put the Backyard music [her favorite] on blast. IT'S PARTY TIME!

Noah's half sister, Orion, happened to be good friends with Bailey. So she was invited over to the party. Look at what a cutie she grows up to be!

In the middle of the party, little Carter stole the show by deciding to clap along to the music!

Just a little bit of appreciation for Bailey's newest party outfit. I'm not really a fan of orange, but she somehow always manages to pull it off.

One of the guests caught Noah's eye....

The feeling was mutual!

The party ended up winding down soon enough. Willow had a little too much whiskey and it was getting pretty late. Alessandra told Noah to text her and Bailey gave all of her friends hugs. Now it's time to get overtired (and hyped on sugar) toddlers and infants in bed. It is a school night for the teens too...

Willow was up a good portion of the night preparing baskets for the kids - but in her mind, they all deserve it. The older kids all had candy in their baskets, but the two infants had all sorts of sensory toys!

The kids woke up early (six AM, to be exact) and excitedly tore into their baskets. But after that? The hunt was on. The egg hunt, to be specific!

"Who hides an egg in the mailbox?" Bailey grumbled. But before she could come inside? THE FLOWER BUNNY appeared. And was immediately swarmed by the Crabtree children.

I'm pretty sure Ulysses fought him for eggs at some point, but I don't have pictures of that. What I do have pictures of? Is Jill making friends with the Flower Bunny.

At this point, it was getting pretty late. So after getting everybody wrestled into their special outfits, Willow asked the older kids to keep the younger ones occupied while she worked in the kitchen. They had family coming over at 4:00 on the dot!

The grand meal was a ham dinner - but there were also some desserts out for everyone. It took a good few hours for Willow to get everything done, so little Carter got hungry. Luckily, big bro Noah came to the rescue!

The guests started arriving and Noah's dad - Christopher was one of the first! He was excited to see him and immediately rushed over to catch him up on all of the drama at school - and how he's officially the captain of the football team.

Willow called everybody to eat - because Jack had been trailing behind her saying, "mama, i'm hungry!" And she figured it wasn't fair to make them wait any longer.

At some point, Kyle seems to have forgotten that they aren't really allowed to have a romantic relationship anymore now that they have a son.

Watching sports, of course, is an Easter tradition of many and the Crabtree family is no different. Of course, Willow was mostly amused at how much Ulysses looks like his dad!

Eventually, the party started to wind down and the dads gave their kids hugs goodbye. Christopher told Noah to keep up his studies. Kyle? Told Ulysses that he wants more 'epic prank' stories the next time they see each other.

One by one, the kids filed up to bed. Exhausted and crashing from their sugar highs.

This is almost sad, to be honest. Although it's a BIT of a relief to not have to juggle two toddlers and two infants at the same time.
