Newest episode thoughts incoming.
So I actually got to do the live listen this time, since I'm off for summer break. I'll get to do two or three more throughout July, which is exciting. But I kind of wish that I hadn't had all of the extra distractions. I usually crawl into bed at the end of my work day after dinner and listen without anything else going on.
On to the episode:
First of all, Willy controlling the other dads with the collars is still blowing my mind. It makes sense that he would mimic that from season 1, but it also feels a little bit out of nowhere. We haven't seen or heard from the kiddads since "The Staircase", so it feels a bit out of left field.
And boy do I want to hear that fight and know more about how that went down. Willy overpowered all four of them? I mean, sure, he's a powerful dude, but it still blows me away.
After the opening and understanding that Terry Jr is being controlled, there's mostly just a lot of planning of how they're going to get into this other building with the Papa John people (why are they back??? They weren't in the city before - what the heck is the anchor that's in there???) before we get to the crazy ending that has my brain reeling.
It's a bit of a crazy plan, and it doesn't go well. At the end of all of this, they still haven't gotten into the place they need to get, Grant has killed Terry, and the party is split. Taylor, normal, and Link are all on the ground, and Hermie and Terri are still on the roof. And the Black Parade, which had decided that Terry was their leader, is now leaderless again.
And what was Nick doing this whole time??? Hopefully some awesome subterfuge that helps them all out next time.
The last time somebody (Tony Pepperoni) died on the show, they did a time jump. We can't do that here. (Please don't do that here). That means these teens just don't get any time to process what they just witnessed. Heck, technically the boys on the ground didn't see anything. They just would have heard the gunshot.
While there is a big part of me that wants Normal to cast Revivify, one, he can't exactly do that from his position on the ground, and two, I do kind of want this death to matter narratively. It feels like if he were to cast it, the death would have no weight. I guess that's a problem with the rules of D&D in general.
I don't know where this is headed, and I don't know how they're going to get the next anchor. This one should be the last one, right? Does that mean we're in the end game? Numbers-wise, if they were planning for this season to be as long as the first, we'd only be about halfway there.
Is Willy going to see Terri as she is right now? He still didn't want Terry Jr (or the other dads, presumably) to hurt her. Huh. That's making me realize a couple of things: 1. Willy knows that she didn't actually kill the other teens. Otherwise, how would he know to tell the kiddads to shoot them? So, 2. That means he knows that Scary lied to him and still doesn't want to hurt her. He needs her for something. I've been assuming that he plans to sacrifice her (or some equivalent), so my guess is that explains why he wouldn't be upset by her betrayal.
This episode has truly blown my mind. So many twists and turns with this one. I am excited to see what happens next.

"Your friend, he [Marcos] has sinned. He has sinned often. Because you told him to. And it is his soul that will reap the consequences of his obedience to you."
Obsessed. What a killer line. The accusation. The guilt. The absolute truth invoked.

It wasn't really like this. It was more subtle. It was growing up and noticing nothing wrong for years. And then suddenly something in the corner of your eye. And then, the days would go by and you'd start to catch that figure more and more and realize that something was wrong but no one else seemed to want to do anything about it. It felt like the most fucked up town on earth and everyone just wouldn't admit. No matter who you talked to, no matter who went missing.
I guess Deadwood feels like going crazy.

Amphibia time line
Because I am a nerd
At the start of reunion(S1ep39) there is a flashback to Anne’s birthday of Anne and Sasha doing things that is labeled “3 months ago” so we can safely assume 3 months passed between Anne’s birthday and Reunion
In Handy-Anne (S2ep1) there is a frog being flown around on a giant firefly claiming “been 3 months, still up here”. In Anne or Beast (S1ep1) we see the same frog get picked up by said dragonfly and get carried away, meaning that any time that passed between Anne’s birthday and Ep1, presumably the same amount passes between Reunion and Handy-Anne
In the Episode Quarrelers Pass (S2ep7), Anne and Hop Pop claim they’ve been listening to Sprig and Polly argue for 2 weeks (later also claimed by Polly and Sprig themselves) and that they’re half way to Newtopia and “can’t take another two weeks of this” which we can safely assume, if accurate, means it takes the group 4 weeks to travel from Wartwood to Newtopia, or 4 weeks between the end of Handy-Anne and the start of Marcy at the Gates (S2ep11)
In Marcy at the Gates, Marcy informs Polly that her legs will come in “in 2 months, give or take”. Then in True Colors (S2ep36) Pollys legs do come in, implying that approximately 2 months have passed between Marcy at the Gates and True Colors
Although, in the season 3 premiere, The New Normal, Anne’s dad says that Anne was missing for 5 months, which given the context i have already explained, doesn’t add up. Possibly Marcy had misjudged the time it would take Polly’s legs to come in as that is the most unreliable of the sources of time passing, or maybe it’s just a rounding thing, or some combination of a few things
In The New Normal, in the background of one of the shots [timestamp 16:31] there is a calendar indicating that it is currently January which we can use to back track and figure out when other things happen

Thoughts on Shun's (not Battle Planet character) partner bakugan?
i’ve never watched anything from the reboot so i wasn’t confused abt that lmao im more interested in knowing which partner bakugan you’re referring to. but i can do all of them!
skyress — undisputed queen and best partner. majestic in every way. i also want her to be my mom.
ingram — all i know abt him is that he’s a ninja wannabe from a planet where ninjas dont exist. and he’s v naked pre-evolution. i don’t think i’ve heard him speak much aside from the time i watched s2ep36. clearly watches naruto and wants shun-senpai to notice him.
hawktor — don’t know much abt him either but he seems to deviate somewhat personality-wise from all the other stoic ninja partners. he seems more laid-back, i feel like he has a bit of preyas in him?? their phrase when they pop out is even the same, “[insert name] has arrived!” and he calls shun ‘danna’ [master] which ig could be similar to how preyas calls marucho ‘boss’?? in any case he seems cool and he’s not a bakugan copy of shun so that’s neat. maybe that’s why shun was at his happiest in s3 lol
taylean — he’s ok ig. also a ninja boi and my first impression of him from watching the first 13 episodes of m1 was that he gives a LOT of proverbs and he was kinda enabling shun to keep overworking himself?? he never really told shun to stop, iirc??? so i dont think they’re a good match, it might just be an echo chamber of bad decisions w those two (ms1 is also when shun is at his lowest lolol coincidence?? i think tf not)
jaakor — i’ve literally seen nothing of this dude to form an opinion. 3 episodes after he’s introduced, he and shun apparently have this emotional scene where they leave each other and it’s so sad that celine dion herself pops in to sing ‘my heart will go on’. bro who tf even is jaakor.

Today is the International Siblings Day, so I shall talk about two certain people:
Tumblr media
Prohyas Warrior and Vambre Marie Warrior.
Despite them being the main characters of Mighty Magiswords, their relationship is totally underrated.
There were so many wholesome moments between them throughout the whole show, though everyone would only notice the episode's references. Nobody actually spoke up about their adorable (and couple-ish, might I add) relationship.
I never saw a pair of siblings treating each other so fondly like Vambre and Prohyas do, and that's what made me thought they were a couple at first (pretty much everyone did).
For instance, while everyone else was talking about Dan's appearance on "Changeable Terraingable" or the Magiswords inside the Sword MagiSafe on "Ghosthaste", my heart was being massacred due to what was going on between V and P.
SPOILERS AHEAD
S2EP6: Changeable Terraingable
Tumblr media
Just this stare itself carries a lot of meaning and power. It tore my heart into pieces.
I wasn't expecting this transition from mad eyes to sad eyes at all.
Tumblr media
This legit caused a tear to stream down my face. Honestly, if the part when they broke the 4th wall by noticing the apologizing music was supposed to be a mood breaker, congrats, it sure succeeded on being it. I was hoping they'd hug. Oh well, at least Dan pretending to play a guitar made me laugh.
S2EP36: Ghosthaste
This one had me panting by the time I finished watching it. The feelings were too intense.
And can we, for God's sake, actually TALK about this scene??:
Tumblr media
This right here had me WEAK.
I love how Prohyas never stopped eyeing her with such love and how Vambre's expression lighted up in a blink of an eye. The way she smiled at him melted my poor heart. I truly wished to see what happened after he closed the door, but, at the end of the day, the ending had its own meaning. :)
So yeah, in short, V and P's bond is wholesome and their lovely scenes are constantly muffled by everyone pointing out references. Okay, they're cool and all, but let's also appreciate the love the Warriors feel for each other. It's really pure and precious.
Before this blog ends, I'll leave a wallpaper made by yours truly and an edit of these two created by a best friend of mine.
Happy International Siblings Day! 🥰💙💜
