@shamelesscreatorsnetwork JUNE THEME: PRIDE
╰┈➤ "Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place."
I see a lot of talk about Mickey's kicked puppy attitude towards Ian with all the crazy gestures, but I think we're all underestimating Ian's loyalty here. It's like... The man can't stay alone for a second and that's probably a psychological trait to discuss on a separate post, but whenever Mickey IS available he drops EVERYONE ELSE at his own detriment.
Ian is loyal and attached since the beginning, he had to leave at the end of s3 or else he would have caved to Mickey's request to keep going in secret. I don't think Ian will ever manage to get truly angry with Mickey for anything he does, he's so vulnerable for him.
Everything that makes Mickey annoying and scary for others just makes him more endearing in Ian's eyes.
Mickey starts looking at getting more tattoos. He finds an artist he likes and over time he builds up a sleeve of sorts. He starts liking tattoos that are stereotypically feminine (eg a rose or something) and he has to grapple with all the toxic masculinity he got from Terry to get those. He ends up sort of designing a tattoo that’s a rose & dagger or something because he likes to draw.
He likes it so he sort of starts co designing his next tattoos with the artist. He doesn’t have the patience to be an actual tattoo artist but he likes drawing different designs & sketches.
Ian loves Mickey’s drawings and there’s one that he particularly loves so for their anniversary Ian gets a tattoo of it on his chest and surprises Mickey with it
a prompt from @depressedstressedlemonzest for @galladrabbles this week!! i used the line from the song “when your whole existence seems fucking hopeless” it’s an angsty one but i had fun
— — — — — —
ian’s knuckles ache with each grip on the pillow. his mind races with images of mickey’s desperate attempts to help him, quick to nudge him when his brain goes quiet for even a second. goosebumps spread quickly over his body as the air gets colder, but he makes no movement. he’s stuck, reliving the missed calls that deepened his emptiness to nearly unbearable measures. his whole existence seems fucking hopeless until the goosebumps that paint his skin ignite a different sensation, a pleasant one as a warmth takes him over.
“sorry i’m late.” ian relaxes, a tiny glimmer of hope flushes back.
Is it your final light?
The cold envelops you
Black diamonds dance, entrance you
When you look into my eyes
Does it make you feel alive?
Does it make you feel alive?

Summary:
When you’re best friends with someone, you learn to go along with their crazy shit so easily that sometimes it feels like your own idea. Mickey learned that quickly with Ian when they were little. They’re not little anymore. And the crazy shit is a little less crazy, but still it hooks Mickey right along because that’s what friends do.
And apparently, if Mickey’s understanding this right, friends also start shotgunning their joints and using it as an excuse to make out with each other. Because that’s definitely what Ian’s doing. And that’s definitely what Mickey’s playing along with. And there’s definitely no way this could be a front for underlying feelings. They’re just best friends. Boy best friends. Who kiss for fun.
