There are not currently laws stopping the police from using your thumb or face to unlock your phone without consent or a warrant. Especially if you are taking any part in any protests throughout America, or accessing birth control needs.

Or you're, you know, queer, disabled, a person of colour, a woman, or generally just know how horrible the cops and government can be. They can pull you over for no reason, unlock your phone, and look for something to charge you with later. They can and will and have.

Cops will do ANYTHING they want, and chances are, the courts will let them.

what do you use that lets you screenshot the show?

I didn't do anything myself. hypothetically, if you wanted to, you could pirate an mp4 of the show and use VLC media player to take snapshots (under the "video" dropdown menu or tab when you right click on the screen). You could also open advanced settings to record clips to later import into Clipchamp, a free online video editor with an impressive amount of features for something that lets you export 1080 vids with no limit (it only works in chrome tho, boo).

I hate that we’re in a scary internet age and yet websites “have” to have my personal information, including at the very least my phone number, just to work. I hate that any one of these bitchass companies can just have all my info and I can’t do shit about it. I hate that I have to have my IP tracked just to “verify” that its me watching people fucking play dnd and they show my fucking address on screen to “confirm”. I hate that companies actively fought for an unsafe internet and ruined website security for extra tracking and money and then tell me I have to buy security when 10 years ago this shit wasn’t a problem and was often more secure (to degrees obviously) bc it was just a given you protect the information on your site. what are your thoughts on safe home?

I thought it was really well done, anon. Shows about domestic violence are pretty hard to get right, I think, and they do run the risk of turning into a PSA half the time, and while I do think Safe Home slipped on that line a few times, I think overall it was an empathetic story with an interesting narrative structure and some really nice performances. Aisha Dee is always great, but I think Mabel Li is one of the most exciting emerging Australian actresses working right now, and it was so good to see her in a role like this.

My biggest issue with it was really the length of it. Being only four episodes I think robbed it of the chance to really drill deep into the characters, especially given it had a pretty substantial cast. Sometimes the little vignette subplots felt like they took us away from the core story, but at the same time, those little vignette subplots also were there to really hone in on the point of the story, so I can't be too mad about them. Mostly I just wish they'd had more time and space to really do all the storylines and characters justice.
