I don't really like speculating on people's brain stuff! I have instead started referring to a frequently observed collection of creative-person impulses with the (intentionally dorky) name 'the creator's monster'.

It's that creator thing of- no, it has to be done right. It has to be complete. Not perfect- never perfect- but there's a specific standard that feels not just important but fundamental. The episode, fic, art piece simply Is Not Done and Will Not Be Posted until it meets that criteria.

The creator thing of- g-d there are so many activities that are easier than Making Things. What if I just [watch Tiktok for 4 hours | spend 3 days perfecting my budget | do anything but the art that I DO love but is very hard].

The creator thing, the artist thing, of being just a little too devoted to your work, and sure it can be lonely but nothing in the world feels as good as making something. Oops now it is 3 am.

i think one of the funniest things about myself and my autism is that i am just the most fucking oblivious person ever. i am that person you see in movies and shows and go “are they really that oblivious?? how do they not know (blank)?!?” it took me four fucking years to realize my own brother is vegetarian. it took me until age 17 to discover my grandma goes by her middle name. my mom got her hair cut and colored last week and it took me three whole days to notice. yes i am stupid. yes i am oblivious. yes i am also somehow quite smart. we exist !!!
