been having a lot of thoughts about samakro being informally-adopted by his bestie’s family so here goes

upon being brought into the ufsa family as a merit adoptive, samakro’s first impression was of how cold it seemed, compared to his birth family. the ufsa are a large and lofty group and nobody seemed to have time for him as a person

so naturally, when wutroow first asked him at taharim if he wanted to come to the kiwu homestead on leave, instead of the ufsa, he jumped at the opportunity

everyone in wutroow’s close family has heard her talking all about what a good friend he is so when he arrives, immediately he’s a guest of honor, fussed over especially by wutroow’s mother and aunties and older sisters who just think he’s the sweetest ever

(samakro: if they saw my competitive side during a ping pong match, i think they’d change their opinion pretty quick)

(wutroow: no. that would make them like you more)

before he even leaves the homestead he’s accumulated a bunch of kiwu-tradition hair jewelry and trinkets that keep getting bestowed on him. which he loves, both because they look great on him and because he’s wearing tokens of wutroow’s friendship, like what could be better than that

now wutroow’s family asks her all the time “how that nice ufsa boy is doing,” not in a way that implies anything weird, just because they know he’s such a good friend to wutroow and they genuinely adore him. she has to promise to bring him to visit again every now and then

Samakro: That depends, how much money are we talking?

Thrawn: Samakro-

on days when wutroow & samakro happen to be eating lunch at the same time aboard their respective ships, they’ll video call each other and both put their questis on the table in front of them so they’re “eating lunch together” :)

some best friends wutroow & samakro headcanons because @not-the-tie-youre-looking-for and i are constantly talking about them

they’ve been besties since their taharim days. they were in martial arts classes together and met when they got paired up for a sparring match and wutroow absolutely obliterated samakro. it was friendship at first asskick

as study buddies they did not get a huge amount of studying done but they did talk about some really important stuff such as “what if one of us got adopted into the other’s family and then we could be related :)”, which turned into 20 minutes of arguing about which name sounds weirder, “wumakro” or “satroow”, which culminated in a pillow fight

other common study session activities included “doing each other’s nails and gossiping”, “performing scientific testing of the relative tastiness of cafeteria snacks”, “watching ridiculous craft holovids” and “taking a nap stacked on top of each other”

every cadet activity/game night at the academy started with a lot of people trying to prevent wutroow and samakro being on the same team because their unbridled power and chaotic energy when working together is simply unmatched

their fellow cadets and also their teachers all the time: sorry but which one of you is which because we only ever see or hear about you together

wutroow: oh yeah we get that a lot

samakro and wutroow, simultaneously: i’m wutroow :)
