#san iwato
- Welcome to a new installment, this time I come to clarify doubts about the goddess Amaterasu, having said that, let's begin. - Amaterasu appears in the Kojiki and Nihonshoki books, which are the oldest in Japan, this goddess symbolizes the sun, light, compassion and truth. It also represents the royal house with the chrysanthemum flower, it has also received other names such as: "Hirume" and "Mukatsuhime. His parents were izanagi (creator god of Japan) and izanami (goddess of hell), izanagi when contaminated by the earth from Yomi she went to purify herself and when she took off her clothes the other gods were born and she was born from her left eye. Amaterasu ruled the Takamanohara and her brother Susanoo was the god of the sea. - Amaterasu, scared of her younger brother, hid in a deep cave in Takamagahara called "Ama no Iwato" and blocked the entrance. This is the famous "Amaniwato no Kamigakure", which the Japanese people continue to recreate as one of their many popular traditions. - As we have already discussed in other publications, Shintoism is an indigenous religion of Japan that during the Meiji era would be used to classify what is Japanese and what was not Japanese, the Japanese never abandoned Shintoism aside. The symbology of the Japanese flag dates back to very remote times. - The goddess Amaterasu has about 5,000 temples dedicated to her and they are called Shinmei Jinja. The temple is located inside the Ise Jingu shrine, also known as (oise-san) and the temple is called Kotai jingu. In the city of Iwato in Miyazaki Prefecture is the Amanoiwato Shrine where Amaterasu is said to have been established as the chief deity. Amaterasu we can translate it as: Goddess of the sun or as solar goddess.

I'm the one who sent you a question about the interview in Da Vinci magazine and the recent one about Kana. I enjoyed reading your opinion a lot, so I did a bit of scrolling back and reading everything.
I saw your post about how Akane and MEM were not supposed to stay after the Love Now arc some time ago, but I am 100% sure Akane and MEM were supposed to stick around after the main arc. MEM is another piece that is related to Aka's grand game of guessing the ending, so I will avoid talking about it for now (but I think you already knew about this since Nobuyuki did called MEM by the nickname of ME-san). I actually planned to discuss this with you, but laziness got to me until Sneaky pissed me off on 4chan, and I just kind of wrote about this topic (such impure motivation) there. I figured I should share this here as well.
For Akane, it is actually even more straight-forward than for Kana or Ruby. I used to ponder a lot about why Aka gave Ruby the Amaterasu line and Kana the image of the sun, but nothing for Akane. It doesn't really make sense because Aka is not the type who would give an easy answer to those actively seeking things behind his lies and riddles. In the sense of competition for who will end up with Aqua, not being linked to the image of the sun is a big red flag. In the more meta sense of children who are neglected by adults in the entertainment industry trying their best to shine and help others shine, it also doesn't make sense to have Akane never being put into the position of Amaterasu, even if there is only one real sun by the end of the story. The message should be that everyone can shine if they get help and are put into the spotlight. But eventually I arrived at the evidence that linked Akane to this whole Amaterasu/Sun thingy.
We start off with the real couple in Love Now: Nobuyuki and Yuki.
Nobuyuki Kumano (熊野ノブユキ). Nobuyuki is a name often written as 信幸 or 信行. If you read them in Onyomi, they are read as shinkou. The kanji for shinkou is 信仰. Together with his family name, Nobuyuki is a reference to the Kumano faith
Nobuyuki's lover is Sumi Yuki The action of visiting the three grand shrines at Kumano is called Kumano pilgrimage (熊野詣). This action has been taken successively by many Emperors of Japan throughout history. When this action is taken by the emperor, it is referred to as miyuki (御幸). So Kumano Nobuyuki x (Su)mi Yuki is a reference to the three grand shrines at Kumano. Among the three, there is Kumano Hongu Taisha, which enshrines Ketsumiko-no-okami, which is Susanoo in Shintoism and Amida Nyorai (Buddha of Infinite Light) in Buddhism. Susanoo is also linked to Yatagarasu.
The 'su' part in Yuki's name is also special. 鷲 means eagle. In the myth about Amaterasu hikikomori phase, there was a god who played a string instrument. When Amaterasu finally stepped out of the cave and light returned to the world, an eagle landed on the end of the string instrument and the god perceived that eagle as an image of a bird who brightened the world. The one who played the string instrument in Love Now was Kengo Morimoto, so it is not just a random setting.
Morimoto is a shrine in Shiga Prefecture that enshrines Amano-Iwato-Wake-no-kami (天石門別神) the god who is said to have also participated in getting Amaterasu out of her hikikomori phase. Nobuyuki is also a dancer just like Ama-no-Uzume. So we can say that in this arc, Akane was in the position of Amaterasu. Akane was written to be special from the start.
As for the part why the dancer is not playing the active part, I think it is because Aqua is not a dancer, but Aka wanted the protagonist to be the one to save the day. The same happened in Tokyo Blade, when Kana specifically monologued about whether Akane wanted to 'dance' with her. In this arc, the one who was put into the role of Amaterasu is Kana, while Akane is Ama-no-Uzume. Both times, Aqua was doing the heavy lifting instead of the 'dancers'.
This is outside of the scope of the discussion, but the colours of the glowsticks were also not random. In Japanese, there is a thing called 紅白文化 that treats red and white as contrast colours. Ai, who has a red glowstick; Ruby, who inherted the red glowstick; and Akane, who has (Aka: red) in her name, all share certain traits that contrast with Kana to some degree. Also, Aka gave Akane the surname Kurokawa, which means Akane has something in contrast with Kana but that something is also different from Ai and Ruby.
Publishing this one largely without commentary because I think it's some really interesting analysis and stands on its own without me needing to add to it! and also because poor anon has waited so long for a response... whoof
That said, re: Akane and Memcho - for what it's worth, I'm pretty sure their being later additions to the cast as opposed to being intended to join the story from their inception is something confirmed by Akasaka and Mengo. At the very least, in Mem's case, Aka and Mengo confirmed in the same interview where they talk about Ai's death being a during serialization decision; Mengo jokes about characters how surprising it is when certain characters who were intended to be one-offs end up becoming part of the main cast and Akasaka confirms that Memcho was one of these characters and that her role grew in the telling because he ended up liking her so much. She was not originally intended to join B-Komachi but he liked her and wanted her to continue having a role in the story and so it happened.
While it's worth noting that there is no direct confirmation that the same is true of Akane, I do believe it to be the case just based on how rapidly and how extremely her character changes post LoveNow. It's actually kind of jarring just how many of the things that come to define Akane in the latter half of the series like her rivalry with Kana and her genius actress analyst skills are like, transparently and hastily sellotaped onto her in the aftermath of that arc rather than existing as part of her from the start.
That's obviously not to say that she can't have grown into a role of more vital importance - she very clearly has! - but I just don't believe she or Mem were planned as big movers and shakers in the story from the start.

          — Oui !

After a 10-day long devastating eruption of Mount Fuji in 864, Kawaguchi Asama Shinto Shrine was built the following year to worship the goddess of Mount Fuji, Asama no Okami
Every year, on 25th April and 28th July, the traditional chigo no mai (稚児の舞; children’s dance) is performed to appease the god. Children aged 11 to 12 years old, typically girls, dance in front of the shrine to the tune of flutes.
2. Shirahige Shrine – Shiga
Tumblr media

Situated in Lake Biwa, the largest freshwater lake in Japan. Shirahige Shrine is dedicated to Sarutahiko of Mikoto, the god of longevity.
After sunset, the torii gate is lit up for 2 hours on weekends and even longer on special days such as New Year’s Eve.
3. Futami Okitama Shrine – Ise
Tumblr media
Popular among newlyweds and couples, Futami Okitama Shrine is the place to be for those seeking blessings in their love life and marriage.
The Meoto Iwa (夫婦岩), or “wedded rocks” are inseparable pair of rocks – the big one representing the husband and the small one the wife – are connected by a shimenawa (sacred rice straw rope).
4. Motonosumi Shrine – Yamaguchi
Tumblr media
Legend has it that in 1955, the spirit of a white fox instructed a local to build a shrine. Obliging the deity’s request, the man built and lined 123 red torii gates along the edge of a cliff.
Today, the shrine attracts visitors who are hoping to pray for wealth, studies, pregnancy, and even fishing.
5. Takaya Shrine – Kagawa
Tumblr media
Dubbed the “torii in the sky”, Takaya Shrine in Kagawa Prefecture sits atop the 404m-tall Mount Inazumi. The torii gate of the main shrine overlooks a panoramic view of the city of Kanonji and Seto Inland Sea.
6. Sakurai Futamigaura – Fukuoka
Tumblr media
While the Meoto Iwa in Ise is better known for its sunrise views, travellers flock to Sakurai Futamigaura in Fukuoka to watch the sun set.
Every May, a ceremony is held during low tide to change the shimenawa. As the rope measures over 30m in length – almost half the width of a football field – and weighs over 900kg, as many as 50 people are mobilized for the switch.
7. Udo Shrine – Miyazaki
Tumblr media
The cliffside Udo Shrine is perched on the rocky Nichinan Coast, south of Miyazaki City, surrounded by magnificent waves.
Legend has it that Toyotama-hime, a goddess of the dragons and sea, went into labour on land. A maternity hall was built in a hurry, in a sacred cave, and Toyotama-hime gave birth to Ugayafukiaezu no Mikoto, who was later enshrined as a deity.
Today, the birthplace is better known as the main shrine of Udo Shrine. Thanks to its history, a visit to the shrine is considered to be beneficial for couples trying to conceive, and expecting mothers praying for a safe pregnancy.
8. Amano Iwato Shrine – Miyazaki
Tumblr media
According to Japanese mythology, the sun goddess Amaterasu hid in this cave after a destructive battle with her brother. Refusing to come out of the cave, her isolation cast darkness over the world. It was only when the other gods and goddesses came together to devise a plan that Amaterasu was lured out, returning light to the world.
The period between November to February is the prime time to visit as that’s when the annual Takachiho Kagura – a shinto ritual consisting of festive folk dances – is held. The main event is held on 22nd and 23rd November, but the dances are performed every night between November and February.
9. Kuratake Shrine – Kumamoto
Tumblr media
The remote shrine was built to protect the sea and to pray for the safety of fishermen. For that reason, you’ll find a ship-shaped vessel filled with empty shells of mina, a shellfish native to the sea of Amakusa, in front of the shrine.
Due to a flood in 1972, the mountain trail was closed to the public and only reopened in 2012. As a result, the shrine completely went under the radar, privy to only the most savvy of locals and budding photographers.
10. Naminoue Shrine – Naha
Tumblr media
As the most prestigious shrine in Okinawa, Naminoue Shrine is widely revered as one of the 8 special Ryukyu shrines since the Ryukyu Kingdom era.
Affectionately nicknamed “Nanmin-san” by Okinawan natives, Naminoue Shrine is a power spot that can grant blessings for everything, from matchmaking to pest control. The date of the shrine’s founding is unknown, but it is believed that the roots can be traced back to when locals prayed to Nirai Kanai (ニライカナイ) – god’s world in the distance of the sea – for abundant harvests.

Chapter 4
“Human.” Alan Jonah turned toward the voice. Ghidorah was back, the three pair of black eyes and crescent moon marking on his forehead looming over him and contrasting the golden color of the shimmering specter. “I’ve returned to update myself on the situation. When are you going to free I and my servants?”
“Soon enough, we already have a plan made.” Jonah tried reassuring the specter, who tsk-ed.
“Really?” The soul took on a wisp-like form for a moment, getting away from Jonah as he got up only to reform, what the terrorist could only assume to be an imitation of the Titan’s hair floating around him like a halo. “Because it sounds to me like you’re making excuses for not being capable of freeing me.”
(Ichi might be stuck projecting his soul outside of his body to manipulate some lowly humans into helping him, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t have some fun with it. It also meant he had to lie about his brothers being slaves instead of what made two thirds of his being, but it had been San’s idea and Ni had seconded it, their ground being that they didn’t want some human to try and use their bond as a weakness.)
“We do have a plan.” Jonah hissed through gritted teeth, Ghidorah giggling. “It’s just taking us time to put it into motion. If you would please follow me.”
Jonah started walking down a corridor of the hijacked Monarch base, the specter following him in his wisp form, apparently to avoid being seen by people he had no business with. They arrived in a room full of computers, the only person here a dark-skinned woman with her hair in a bun as Ghidorah switched back to something more humanoid.
“Kane?” The woman turned toward them, gasping in surprise when she saw Ghidorah, who’s only reaction was to tilt his head to the side inquisitively. “This is King Ghidorah. It turns out that Titans can project themselves outside of their bodies, and this is Titan we’re attempting to free.”
Upon seeing the golden specter’s inquisitive head tilt, Emily got up, back straight and shoulders squared, and bowed her head. “M- My name is Emily Kane. I am a hacker of the Titan Liberation Front, as well as one of it’s spies and biological engineers. It’s an honor to meet you, King Ghidorah.”
Ghidorah straightened his head, one hand reaching out to make Emily stand straight again. “You can rise, and the information is appreciated. Now, I believe your king wanted you to show me how you were going to free my body from it’s icy prison?”
(Ichi hadn’t tilted his head in confusion to know who the human woman was. He had because he thought the bugs valued kindness in a leader. Emotionally speaking, this Emily radiated warmth, while the king of this little group was as cold as the ice his brothers and he were imprisoned in.)
“That is right!” Emily declared, sitting bakck down and starting to type on her computers. “Now, I think Monarch got themselves a new chief programmer because I kept bumping into firewalls and redirections and passwords demands at some point we got a virus that would make the Power Rangers theme song play over the speakers non-stop-”
“Get to the point, Kane.”
“While I appreciate your efforts to explain modern human technology, it’s ultimately irrelevant to me.”
“... right. We eventually got some footage of yesterday.” She explained. “Monarch’s most recent addition, and I have reasons to believe he’s also the most dangerous, Julian Cyan Florès, finished the ORCA prototype yesterday. Here’s the footage.”
-
“- and if you turn the dial here-” Florès pointed at a dial with numbers circling it. “-you can either amplify or diminish the Titans bioacoustic’s imitations. Which is good, because the only sound the prototype can make is one that essentially means ‘stand down, I’m in charge here’, and the louder it gets, the more forceful it is.”
“On which Titan are you guys going to test it?” A soldier stationed at Castle Bravo asked from the back of the control room.
“Hopefully, with one that’s benevolent, like the Infant Titan, and not a bitch like the Mara Titan.” Florès deadpanned. “He might be the shortest of the documented Titans, but that motherfucker is still four and a half meters tall and filled with impotent rage, and he can fly and takes baths in lava.”
“For the Americans in here, that’s roughly a little under fifteen feet tall.” Coleman informed them, getting up as Florès sat back down. “Just with this, we have a tool that will allow us to keep the Titans away from major cities when they start awakening en masse. Any questions?” A beat, then someone raised their hand. “Emma?”
“What are the future plans for the ORCA?” Dr Russell asked, tilting her head in interest.
“Well, firstly: a widespread security system tailored for cities to keep the Titans from rampaging through them, with enough options to keep them at bay.” Coleman started. “This system will use a sound bank that means ‘our territory’. Hopefully, it’ll be enough until a more concrete anti-Titan security system can be found.”
“We’re considering electro-magnetism shields.”  Florès added from his seat, Coleman nodding.
“What about communication with the Titans?” Dr Graham asked.
“Excellent question; Florès, I’m letting you take the helm again.”
“Thank you, Coleman.” The younger man stated as he got back up. “My current plan for now is that, once we have more material to work with, to create an audio-helmet with a microphone.” Florès started. “After that, I would create a rudimentary translation program that should, at least, allow us to communicate back and fort knowing the other’s intent using the final. That would be the final ORCA.”
“That doesn’t seem very ideal-”
“Ideally, however,” Florès snapped at Stanton, his tone clearly getting the ‘I wasn’t finished’ message across. “I would scrap the ORCA all together and create a new form of Titan communication called the All-Speak, which would allow us to have direct and concise discussions with Titans, amongst other thing!”
“And how much,” Colonel Foster started, her hand going back down, “would both of these projects cost?”
“The ORCA would just require an increase in resources and maybe some additional staff.” Florès started. “The biggest setback will be getting all of the Titans sound to put into it, but once the first official model is complete, we should be able to mass-produce it. As for the All-Speak...” the latino laughed nervously. “Let’s just say the first draft was ‘small computer that connects to your brain’ and it got more complicated from here.”
Everyone turned toward Serizawa, who seemed deep in thought. “For now,” Monarch’s scientist started. “Focus on perfecting the ORCA. If it’s a success, we’ll consider whether or not to start work on the All-Speak.”
“That’s reasonable.” Foster approved, nodding her head as Florès sighed in relief.
“In the meantime, Florès? If you wish to work on the All-Speak as a personal project, feel free to-”
“DR. SERIZAWA!” A scientist that had stayed at their post suddenly exclaimed, interrupting the man. “THE TITAN ON IWATO ISLAND IS WAKING UP-”
-
“Turn it off.” Ghidorah told Emily, who just acquiesced and proceeded to do so. It wouldn’t do to anger a god, after all.
Jonah turned toward Ghidorah’s specter, gesturing at the screen. “This is how we’re planning to free you: one of scientists in Monarch has a daughter. We kidnap and hold the daughter for ransom, and force the scientist to steal the ORCA and bring it here. We’ll then use the ORCA to send a wake up call to your body.”
“Yes, that would work.” Ghidorah said after a short moment of thinking. “If there is something I hate above all else, it’s receiving orders. Make sure the sound is loud to pierce through the ice.”
“And when that happens,” Jonah started, chuckling, “You will get rid of the Titans that have imprisoned you, and existence will bow down at our feet.”
(Our? Ichi Ghidorah would’ve scoffed at the insinuation that he and this lowly human were equals if it wasn’t so amusing. These humans, who seemed convinced he and his brothers were benevolent and wanted to help them, would find out soon enough just why their ancestors where too scared to even speak the name of the Golden Demise.)
“Oh, don’t worry.” Ghidorah started in a voice Emily could recognize as ‘forced neutrality’ “Humanity will get everything that’s coming to it.”
-
Rodan woke up in a startle, his eyes staring up at the starry skies. He slowly sat up at the edge of his nest, frowning in a deeply-seated worry he couldn’t explain.
His chest was aching, especially the lightning scar one the Death Song of the Three Storms left him a few thousands of years ago right where is heart was, back when he was still just a regular earth Fowl and not the Fire Demon.
Not as a warning, but as a reminder.
You’re centuries too early for us. Come back when you’re worth looking at.
He shook off the impression that something was terribly, terribly wrong, and went back to sleep.

Since this made you laugh and my feels of episode 39 is still very strong.... Inazuma Japan's reactions when Asuto accidentally sent the photo of Hiura in a nurse outfit (with light make up as well) in the group chat. Have fun!
Oh boi oh boi
Chatroom ~
Endou - " Oi! Who is the new girl? She looks familiar.. but cute! "
Sakanoue - he will just scream how good he looks like and become scarlet red
Kazemaru - he will just turn off his phone and rethink about his existence twice. Then he will leave the chatroom
Hiroto - he will legit ask Haizaki if he is responsible for this... and will ask with what they have made the boobs.
Gouenji - he doesn't have a messenger, but Endou will show the picture to him, asking if he knows who this girl is. "Endou-san... that is Hiura...". Overall he will not have any reaction other than a sweatdrop
Goujin - the exact same reaction like Malik's
Hikaru - "Who the hell tortured him like that???" He internally will like it and beg he was actually a girl
Tatsuya - he will just nod in acceptance and say the dress and lipstick suit him
Afuro - "He is glowing... I want to try it too!" and drop a tear because he secretly have Kirina private lessons how to crossdress and seeing him succeed in looking glamorous will melt him
Iwato - just a thumbs up while nose bleeding and babbling 'gosu'
Mansaku - "Nosaka. I need to talk to you later. If you see this." and facepalm
Saginuma - he will be confused and wonder  is Hiura actually a girl and will ask all the Inakuni members
Nishikage - he already knows about the plan, so he will just shut his eyes and squeeze them
Kozoumaru - he will not open the chat, because he turns off his internet. He will see it when Kirina comes back and will just go and ask him what the hell happened
Atsuya - "Were his legs always so fine?"
Norika - She will be so shocked that dresses suit him better than her in her opinion and will sparkle. When he comes she will give him to try all her dresses and she will squeak from his beauty
Mizukamiya - he will bite his tongue and wait for Haizaki then wanting an explanation
Fudou - we know that he is an ass and will begin to photoshop him in many ways and goof around (not erotic tho. Just with longer hair and more make up.. or a different dress)
Shirou - he will just watch the whole chaos of reactions and laugh
Kidou - he will save the picture and pm him "You agreed to do this, did you? They didn't force you?" Then ask what has happened recently with the team
Hope you laughed at these ;"
Thanks for the ask! Feel free to ask me again. Stay healthy ❤

Inazuma Eleven: Orion no Kokuin Log - Episode 46
My friend deadass sent me 4 text messages and a half screaming in the night about how good this episode was, so I may have jumped out of bed just to watch a soccer anime.
I have no regret doing so, if that’s what you were asking.
Spoilery goodness under the cut.
-To address the elephant in the lockers: Gouenji. We have waited 44 episodes for him to go back to the pitch and man was he worth it. While I’m somewhat disappointed we haven’t seen him use Last Resort, it was super cool to have him almost score with Fire Tornado of everything. Talk about a rush of nostalgia and hype coursing through my nerves. I’m looking forward to see him against Russia 2: Orionlicious Boogaloo.
-Seeing Kozoumaru inherit Gouenji’s solo Last Resort was awesome. I wished they hadn’t drastically changed Kozoumaru’s design like they did, but this is awesome and I was super hyped for him to use it. I almost wish for them to use both at the same time, but alas, we already have enough Last Resorts on our hands.
-Italy’s team is... it’s a mess alright lmao. Their second goalie was clearly just here because of the character design contest, he had one technique and that’s it. Petronio was still super awesome though. Them using Last Resort Dragon was a reach though. Grid Omega was already pretty farfetched, but this? This was hilarious unpredictable.
-Last Resort ping pong exchange, what has this anime become lmao. Ngl I was riding that wave with no care in the world for my credibility.
-Speaking again of Last Resorts... The complete, super mega special awesome edition that Inazuma Japan will use instead of Gouenji and Kozoumaru’s solo version is named Last Resort... Σ. I’ve thought about it a little, and Σ represents a total sum in mathematics, or at least those I’ve learnt, so it makes sense. At least, it looks super fucking good, even if I’m a sucker for Last Resort’s original stone dragon aesthetic thing going on.
-“Incomplete? So you just need to complete it here and now” can apply to literally every single big technique in this franchise. Majin the Hand was complete against Zeus. Mugen the Hand was completed against Chaos (and then Genesis). Endou invented a technique to stop Spain against Spain. I love this quote, especially the laidback way Gouenji just said that with not a hint of fear.
-Ah, Asuto... Poor Asuto. I’ve just felt this bad for this boy today. I’m not a genki protag kind of guy (even if I’m a filthy Endou stan, ngl), but seeing him this pained and crushed by reality makes for interesting development. I’m starting to really like him.
-I love Haizaki. I just love this edgy-ass boy in all of his edge. Having him show what could be empathy towards the opposite team was a new thing that I’m actually welcoming, same goes for his guilt for not managing to save all of his teammates (rip Norika, Aphrodi and Saginuma, thank you for coming). The fact he’s injured makes me think he won’t be playing in the finale, which is... very weird considering he’s always been there, doing something, saying something. It could make for an interesting development, though, this much I can admit.
-That bittersweet victory was a breath of fresh air and yet expected. I think it’s a win-win situation: Inazuma Japan hasn’t exactly won, but they still get to the finale, and Italy’s players don’t get utterly destroyed by their own coach. (btw Vladimir can choke on glass, he’s peak douchebaggery)
-Mysterious Pigtail-chan, huh. With that hair color, it has to be Froy’s secret twin sister who is under Irina’s orders. Most likely shares that bitch queen’s ideals too lmao.
-Asuto going deadass “Shinjou-san, are you my dad” was hilarious for a reason I can’t put words on.
-RIP Norika and Nishikage, was nice knowin’ you two as Japan’s guardians for like 3 matches each. Still better than Tachimukai, I’m afraid.
-Ka... Kageyama. I thought Oyabun had brought back Kidou for the epic finale (and got excited over that possibility), but I guess we’re just gonna have concrete bars on children extraordinaire instead. I’m actually very curious to see him in action, even if for now I’m pressing X for doubt. That’s such an Oyabun thing to do.
-Anyway, we know Endou and Asuto will take part in the finale against Perfect Spark (again, what a surprise, /s). I also predict that we’ll have a lot of substitutions because Russia will most likely try to fucking kill Japan’s representatives again. If Oyabun doesn’t decide to psych all of us again, we’ll have Nosaka, Ichihoshi and Gouenji on the field for sure. Goujin will most likely be substitued in. I hop we get Iwato. Kozoumaru, if he isn’t injured after trying to stop Last Resort D, will most likely be in there. Hiura and Mizukamiya should be in the starting team lineup too, especially Hiura who’s been quite the important character until now. I can’t really say for sure if Haizaki will be in there or not because of his leg injury, so that will have to be seen (I predict they pull a twist on us and have him benched for the finale so they can’t just use Last Resort Σ and insta-win).
See you next week, at the time the French subs will have dropped!

IE ARES OFFICIAL NOVEL BOOK 1
Inazuma Ares no Tenbin Official Novel Book One
Chapter One - Setting Sail towards Tomorrow!
Read the previous part here.
Part 7
In an effort to train his legs, Goujin tied a bunch of giant logs together and dragged them along the seashore. Hiyori, who was watching over him from some distance away, called out to him. ‘Goujin-san, are you getting all fired up after what that guy said?’
‘I am not! I just wanted to try this! Seriously, that’s all.’
‘But-’
‘I’ll create one - a special move! If we use special moves we can probably win!’
This was the kind of training needed to create a special move? Hiyori was slightly bewildered. However, Goujin was dead serious. Looking as though he has reached his limit, he turned and asked Hiyori: ‘Have you ever heard… of Fire Lemonade…?’
‘...It’s called Fire Tornado…’ Hiyori sighed, as the waves crashed into the shore behind them.
---
Hiura sat on the porch in the afternoon sunlight and, without meeting her eyes, addressed his grandmother.
‘Nana, I’m gonna go to Tokyo… If we win in Tokyo, we’ll still be able to play soccer…’
‘I see! Things will get a little bit lonely around here...’
‘Sorry…’
‘I know you can do it, Ki-chan.’
‘I will. I’ll win.’
Hiura stood up and turned to face his grandmother. She smiled back at him.
---
Grasping the handles of his bike as it rolled down the hill was Iwato - Golem - accompanied by his fellow second year Hattori Hanta ‘Han-chan’ who sat on his shoulders.
‘Wonder if the food’s any good in Tokyo?’
‘Han-chan, did you already decide you’re going to go?’
‘I don’t really wanna leave the island, but I wanna keep playing soccer for sure!’
‘Oh?’
‘You still not sure, huh?’
‘Mmm… you’re pretty amazing, Han-chan!’ The wind blowing in their hair, the two continued to cycle steadily down the big hill.
---
Sitting at the counter of a sushi shop called ‘Manpei’ was Mansaku. He was the only customer. His father - the sushi chef Ippei - sensed there was something his son wanted to tell him.
‘What is it?’
‘...Dad, I’m thinking about going to Tokyo.’ Mansaku removed his hat and explained apologetically. Ippei turned away.
‘A runt like you is going to Tokyo, huh.’
‘It’s because I’m a runt that I’m going. Soccer is gonna help me stand on my own.’
‘Is it?’ Their conversation ended there. The only sound between them now was Ippei’s knife hitting his chopping board. Sensing how his father felt, Mansaku mumbled another apology.
After a few more seconds of silence, Ippei set a plate down on top of the counter. It was two pieces of toro - fatty tuna - sushi.
‘Eat. This is my farewell gift to you. Go to Tokyo and don’t you dare lose to the guys out there.’
‘Dad…’ Mansaku lifted one piece of sushi to his mouth and ate it whole. The sting of wasabi was not the only thing that made his eyes water.
---
‘Tokyo, huh? I’ll miss you, but if that’s what you’ve decided then who am I to stop you?’ That evening Michinari walked alongside his father on the latter’s way home from work - his father worked at the town hall and Michinari had come to meet him on his way home.
‘But Mom’s definitely not going to be okay with this.’
‘Don’t worry - I’ll talk to her.’ His father stopped and placed a hand on his son’s shoulder.
‘...Thank you.’ They began walking again.
‘You better write a letter to your mother.’
‘Yeah, I will.’ His mother’s face floated into his mind and Michinari felt a little bit sad at the thought of leaving her behind.
---
As the sun set, Norika, Hiyori and Okuiri sat atop a cliff gazing out at sea.
‘We’ve gotta choose between going to Tokyo or staying on this island…’ At Norika’s words, Hiyori’s eyes prickled with tears. ‘I’m confident that we can win even against teams from the mainland thanks to all our training but… It’s gonna be really tough to leave our home. Why can’t we just play soccer here?!’
‘But we can’t do anything without a sponsor…’ Okuiri answered Norika’s question.
‘That’s not right…’
Soccer? Or their home? In order to choose one, they would have to give up the other. No matter how much they mulled it over, it didn’t seem possible to choose both.
‘Norika, have you already made up your mind?’ Instead of answering Okuiri, Norika turned away and cast her eyes downwards.
‘Norika-san doesn’t want to leave the island either, right?’ Hiyori spoke for her. But it seemed more like he was trying to reassure himself that she felt the same way he did. Norika lifted her head and started to speak slowly.
‘In order to keep playing soccer, we’ll have to leave this island. I know that. That’s what I want to do. But if I leave, then Mom…’ Before she could finish, the three of them heard a voice several yards away from the foot of the cliff call out to them.
‘Norika! I’ll be fine! If you run away from this challenge, you’re not a true woman of the sea!’ Norika’s mother - Ama-san - was standing there.
‘Mom…’
‘There’s no way she could hear what we’re talking about from all the way over there?!’ Okuiri expressed in disbelief. As her mother waved at them enthusiastically, Norika’s heart felt at peace.
---
Soon, night began to fall. The ocean was aglow with the warm light of the setting sun. On a cliff some distance away from where Norika and the others were gathered - the tallest cliff on the island - Asuto looked out over the sea.
‘Mom. I’m going to leave this island, and I’m going to find soccer again. You’re the one who told me that soccer won’t disappear. That soccer will be here as long as I need it… Right?’ Asuto curled his fingers in the shape of a gun and aimed it at the horizon.
‘I’ll bring soccer back to this island! Mom, keep watching over me!’
He couldn’t see it from there, but somewhere in the distance between the sea and the sky, was the city of Tokyo and the future that awaited them.
And so the Inakuni Eleven, each carrying their own hopes and dreams, set sail for Tokyo.
---
‘Amazing! So this is...Raimon Junior…’ Asuto and the others stood at the school gate, gazing upon the giant yellow lightning bolt-shaped mark in amazement. Standing amongst them was the transfer student, Kozoumaru. Taking a deep breath as he took in all of his surroundings, Asuto felt almost as if he could hear the voices of his soccer club senpais calling out to each other.
Incidentally, they still wondered why exactly an amazing school like Raimon were willing to enroll a soccer club like Inakuni, who had virtually no concrete achievements to speak of. It was also strange that Raimon’s own soccer club were currently postponing all club activities. Asuto and the others hadn’t been told the reason. All they knew was one week from now they would have to face Seishou Academy’s soccer club, and they would have to win.
As they walked through the school gates, they caught sight of a shabby-looking old shed. A wooden plank with ‘Soccer Club’ painted onto it hung from the door.
‘Is this really the soccer club’s clubroom?’
‘It doesn’t look like it’s being used right now…’ Norika and Mansaku looked at the suspiciously shabby old building, a stark contrast from the rest of this prestigious-looking school. However, this was where last year’s number one soccer team in Japan was born. Number one in Japan - Raimon Junior. And now they - the Inakuni Eleven - were standing here. Just thinking about made them stand up straight.
Asuto stood his chest forward and with his head held high he announced: ‘Our match is one week from now. Let’s train like crazy and beat Seishou Academy!’
Asuto would only ever aim for the top.
