I made a wax carving of a smiley/acid man for my mum @stay_wild_jewellery and then she sand casted it to make it into a silver pendant, and it looks very cool and neat and rad.
I've made a few more wav carvings for her, and they've been pretty fun to make, which I didn't expect because the idea of carving was a bit daunting.
ALSO YOU CAN GO TO MY MUMS PAGE AND ORDER ONE THATS A GOOD THING TO MENTION OK EPIC COOL

why do you need to recast everything? surely there’s some type of way to make what you have work?
(im about the graduate with a metalsmithing degree in 2 weeks and am currently the ta for the advanced metals class that is coincidentally doing casting this semester too so i’ve been problem solving casting projects almost non stop this whole semester 😅)
LMAO first of all good luck with ur projects !!! but i’m making an interlocking cuff out of. worms. and i cast them all in u shapes but they’re basically 12 gauge wire and so when i try to bend them they either are TOTALLY uncooperative or they crack :/ so i am cutting my losses and redoing my wax injections and i’m gonna manipulate them and then cast them straighter (building the cuff in wax basically) and then assemble from there. we have an AWESOME casting machine that my prof used to cast white gold fuckoff tiny earrings today so literally anything is possible :3 also i Might be able to use some of my already cast pieces!! but it’s probably gonna be less than half and doing injections and casting is rlly just a scheduling issue. burnout cycles. grimaces.

Master Engraving Excellence for Sand Casting
Sand casting is a commonly employed and very ancient metal casting technique. It involves forming cavities within packed and bonded sand that is then charged with molten metal. The chosen metal solidifies to reproduce the cavity shape in fine detail. Trust Plates Crafters for exceptional craftsmanship and reliable results in every project, making your casting needs a seamless experience.

Sand casting is a process where molten metal is poured into a mold cavity formed in sand. The mold is typically made of two halves, known as the cope and drag. Once the metal solidifies, the mold is removed, leaving behind the desired part. This method is cost-effective and can accommodate intricate designs.

Blackstrap Electrik Co. - B.E.C. HOUSE ENCLOSURE
"It's taken me like three years, and after many false starts and abandoned prototypes, I've finally realized my dream enclosure.
This stylish box is based on my favorite vintage enclosure: the rare, cast-aluminum Zonk II. Like the early Sola Sound produced Marshall Supa Fuzz, this Zonk II enclosure was designed and built by Olivetti S.p.A, an Italian firm (founded in 1908 by Camillo Olivetti in Ivrea, Italy) that produced sleek, Atomic-age enclosures for adding machines and other desktop apparatuses.
Early on, Sola Sound built Tone Bender MKII circuits into these hammered blue, Zonk II boxes for John Hornby Skewes. To my knowledge, only one of these has been recovered. After this partnership ended, JHS began stuffing the enclosures with their own silicon Zonk II circuit.
I consider this my house enclosure. It is available for Focus and Old Pal builds only."
