i used to think DNIs are useless and i still think they are to a point very ineffectual and i am NOT going through a list of random and often innocuous descriptors and if it’s hosted on another website forget it. also i don’t know what anyone means by freaks don’t interact. HOWEVER i see the utility of a succinct “TERFS don’t interact” or “Sanghis don’t interact” after getting a twitter account; no one is going to self identify as a racist (I think? I hope?) so a dni racists may not help, but there are fuck faces who are proud of being the former mentioned, so interaction is minimised at east somewhat. Honestly sometimes you need that quick reassurance in a hellscape that the person you want to follow isn’t a bigoted asshole. You’ll get some vile ppl trying to engage or goad you maybe, but at least you can block them
