Sarah despised her costume with a passion. It was mixed of golden and dark green colors, inspired by Cleopatra according to Vought’s team. To Sarah it seemed just a more expensive version of something a cheep stripper in Vegas would wear. She walked down the stairs followed by a publicist and a couple of make up artist trying to touch up her already too elaborate make up, “Okay, you’re out in ten,” The man holding the tablet was speaking, “Remember you are not selling the good girl imagine, you’re a hero obviously, but you’re also aware that you are sexy and powerful. You know: Girls get things done!” Sarah rolled her eyes at him, openly. She will be fine, she just needed to remind herself why she was here in the first place. 

Another team, looking exactly like her own came down from the other direction, following another girl in costume. Sarah hadn’t seen her before among the Seven or otherwise, so she assumed she was also new. The fixers started chatting with urgency and Sarah rolled her eyes again, but she offered the other girl a smile, “You’re getting announced today too, huh?” She asked, politely. There was something oddly normal about the other girl’s vibe, so she felt making an attempt to speak to someone at least might be smart, considering their future teammates, “They are really ridding this girls thing.”

Field missions were not Sarah’s thing. Despite extensive military training from a young age, the young woman was more an intellectual backbone to the team, even if only in her early twenties- the fixer when the boys took things a step too far- every other week or so. Sarah was good at slapping the Agency’s heads with red files, at cold headed suggestive recommendations to government officials about how to deal with Vought’s presence in the national landscape. Threatening really, though Mallory never called it that. Her sphere of things, behind bulletproof doors to facilities that virtually don’t exist.

Now, however she was in a pair of vulgar ripped jeans and a ridiculous Homelander shirt, surrounded by screaming sheep, listening to Queen Maeve give a rousing speech about.. something. The event was the biggest New York event for The Seven, and they were all present. Naturally, Mallory had wanted her to gather info quietly, without much fuss. Hence why Sarah was in the field and not one of the men, after all, dressed like a supe-crazed college girl, armed with her VIP pass she didn’t really stand out. Making her way through the crowd, she found the autograph queue and stood there. Wearing any sort of mics or high-tech equipment was imprudent with the amount of supes around, so Sarah only had her private phone on her, as Mallory had pointed out- for selfies. In a different situation she would have rolled her eyes. Displeasure or not, the woman had to admit the mission was essential, if they were to expose Vought in any way they needed an edge. The notion was at best semi- suicidal, but it was their only choice at this point. An inside man. An inside supe, rather. For that to work, secrets had to be discovered- a super red file, in a way. And, after all, red files had grown to be a specialty of hers. 

Once she caught sight of the desk, she realized that the two of The Seven- the Deep and the Lamplighter- were seated there, signing on pretty much anything their fanclub was suggesting. Smile Jackson, smile. Sarah willed herself in an inner monologue, as she approached the latter of the two men. “Am I lame if I only ask you to sign a poster of yourself?” She asked with what she hoped turned out to be a decent version of “a naive and innocent smile”.
