AOT Characters In A Royal AU

THE KING - Erwin Smith

At first, I didn’t really want Erwin as the King just because I thought maybe another character would be better but he just fits too well in the role. He has the aura of someone who belongs in power. The type of man who can command silence in a crowded room with one single look. King Erwin would be a very fair and just ruler but would 100% stick to the laws, no matter who the defendant is.

THE CROWN PRINCE - Armin Arlert

Do I even need to explain this one? Armin is another Erwin Smith but with some tweaks here and there. These two as a father son duo would be great to see. Armin would love to watch and follow in the king’s footsteps and be a ruler of equal worth as Erwin. The people love him even more so because he’s more considerate than Erwin.

THE PRINCESS - Historia Reiss

Who better to wrap up the blond royal family than the actual aot queen herself, historia. She’s definitely the nation’s beloved princess who can do no wrong and is always super sweet to everyone. I can imagine her having garden tea parties with her handmaidens and going on walks in the meadows.

THE KING’S GUARD - Levi Ackerman

Come on guys, it’s perfect and who the hell wouldn’t want this man protecting them 24/7. Levi takes his job very, very seriously and will not talk about meaningless things whilst on watch. He personally trains all the guards that are in the castle and he is known to be ruthless on anyone who slacks off. But he does keep everyone safe so give the dude some credit.

THE PRINCE’S GUARD - Eren Yeager

They were friends from a young age and Eren was the worst influence on Armin ever but they both had a great bond so his blond bestie pulled some strings and got him training from Levi. Levi did not approve but ultimately will not disobey the Prince so here they are. Eren will always take the chance to pull pranks and annoy Levi whilst he’s busy working.

THE COOK - Niccolo

If I was in this au I wouldn’t eat anything made by anyone but Nicco. I don’t trust the rest but this guy can make me the nastiest looking food but I’ll eat it because I know it’ll hit. He’s that cook who starts screaming the minute anybody (other than Sasha) comes into the kitchen. He also is suspicious of everyone and thinks everyone is out to steal his food.

THE COOK’S HELPER - Sasha Braus

Every chef needs a sous chef and who better than the glutton herself. Obviously she will be helping to prep it all but she’ll also be pinching food as well but love makes people blind especially the chef ;) Her and the chef often have their own little side story going on while the rest of the castle has theirs.

Niccolo x Sasha — A cake for her birthday

The modest kitchen of the grand restaurant was quiet—not a soul around except a blond boy, who was storming all over the place from one bowl to another.

Niccolo had barely gotten any sleep last night, too nervous for the upcoming day. Yet when his alarm went off at five in the morning, he rushed to his workplace as if no tiredness could affect him. Not on this day, at least. This day was special. This day was her day.

As he was whisking the eggs into the flour mix, the sun had risen high enough to hit his eyes with a bright glow, spreading across the room. He paused to look around. The small space was full of sunlight. It penetrated every little corner, and in the light, he could see tiny specks of dust floating in the air. It couldn’t have been any other way, thought Niccolo—after long days of continuous rain, the sun was bound to shine on her birthday.

“What are you doing here so early?” The soft, sleepy voice startled him, pulling him out of his reverie. And panic settled in.

“You’re not supposed to be here!” Niccolo cried, anxiously swinging his hands in the air. In one swift motion, he was right in front of Sasha, trying to send her out of the kitchen.

With a perplexed look on her face, Sasha put her hands on his forearms, standing firm on the ground. “Why? Do you keep secrets from me? You were always happy to see me here.”

Niccolo knew he couldn’t talk his way out of it. So the only thing left was to accept his failure. “It was a surprise… For your birthday.” He sighed, hanging his head.

“Oh, my birthday,” she muttered, the corners of her mouth curling down. It wasn’t long, though, before her lips stretched into a smile and she collided with his chest, tightly wrapping her arms around his torso. “You planned a surprise for my birthday? Thank you, Nic!” she said, burying her face into his shirt.

A profuse blush covered his cheeks as he put his arms on her back hesitantly. “Don’t thank me; it’s not ready yet. And since the surprise is ruined, you might want to help me with taste testing, so I wouldn’t fail at this as well,” he chuckled.

“Nothing is ruined!” Unclasping her hands, Sasha took a step back to look into his eyes. “And it’s not possible for you to fail at cooking. Your food is always amazing. What were you cooking?”

With a shy smile, Niccolo took her hand in his, leading her towards one of the countertops, where three bowls stood filled to the brim. “I’m making you a birthday cake—”

“A cake? A whole birthday cake just for me?” Sasha interrupted, raising her brows.

“What’s a birthday without a cake? Why are you so surprised?” he chuckled. Lowering her gaze, she pursed her lips and started fidgeting with her fingers. Afraid of having said something wrong, Niccolo hurried to change the topic back to his initial thought. “I wasn’t sure about the filling, so I made three different kinds. And, honestly, I don’t know how I would choose. But since you’re here, I thought—”

Sasha didn’t even let him finish as she took a wooden spoon out of his hand and stuffed her mouth with a generous scoop from the first bowl. “Mhm, it’s good… So tasty,” she mumbled through chewing.

“That’s whipped cream,” Niccolo laughed. Taking the spoon from her, he dipped it in the second bowl. “Here, try this one,” he said, bringing it to her mouth.

She hummed as the flavor spread across her taste buds. “What’s this? It’s delicious. Give me more!”

A new wave of laughter swept over him. “It was cream cheese. Better taste the last one, though. I’m especially proud of this.”

For the first time since the bowls came into her view, Sasha took her eyes off them, staring at Niccolo. He brought the spoon to her lips again, but this time her soft, brown eyes were fixed on his as she tasted the filling. Unable to shift his gaze, he gulped, eager to see her reaction.

“Chocolate! It’s chocolate! Am I right? God, it’s so good!” she cried, bringing her hands to her face and rocking on her hills.

Niccolo’s lips stretched into a wide grin. “Yes, it’s chocolate ganache. So, which one should we choose?”

Studying the bowls, Sasha furrowed her brows. “This one!” She pointed at the last bowl. “No, wait! This!.. Wait, but this one was so good too.. You’re making it impossible, Nic!” She huffed and slumped down in the nearest chair, visibly upset.

“I’ll give you all of it anyway,” he laughed. “Just choose which one you want on the cake.”

Her large eyes seemed to go even bigger at his words. “You will? You’re the best!” She sprang to her feet, embracing him in a hug. A tinge of pink spread over his cheeks for the second time this morning. “Then chocolate ganache, I guess,” she said with a sheepish smile.

“Ganache it is!” He lifted the spoon in the air to mark their success.

Having decided on the filling, Niccolo went back to preparing the cake, and Sasha stood by his side, ready to help with anything he would entrust her with. He kept stealing glances at her when she was pouring the milk, when she was cutting strawberries, and when she was licking the spoon off, thinking he wouldn’t notice.

He did. He noticed everything—every little detail about her. The way she talked to everyone so politely at all times. The way she laughed at her friends’ jokes, making his lips curl up instinctively if he happened to hear her contagious laughter. The way her eyes sparkled every time she ate his food. If she was worried, if she slightly changed her hairstyle, and if—god forbid—her appetite was lower than usual.

She placed her hand on his, giving it a light squeeze, and peered into his eyes. “Thank you, Niccolo, really. I don’t even remember the last time someone made a cake for my birthday. I guess sometimes life gets in the way,” she trailed off, her doe eyes glistening with tears.

This time, he was the one to embrace her. As she wrapped her hands around him, hiding her face on his chest, Niccolo put his head on top of hers, inhaling the scent of her strawberry shampoo. He held her close, and every pore of his body repulsed the idea of ever letting her go. And before he managed to process it, his lips landed on her forehead in a gentle kiss.

He froze. He turned his head away, completely paralyzed in his entire body. In his arms, Sasha stiffened too. Hot in the face, he was about to pull away when she lifted her head and kissed his chin. Looking into his eyes, Sasha snickered lightly; her eyes crinkled, and a light shade of pink covered her cheeks. He smiled at the sight—his favorite in the whole world.

After removing the cakes from the oven, they stacked all the layers, adding the filling in between. For the decorating part, Niccolo made Sasha turn around and close her eyes, and she was only allowed to look at it once everything was ready.

On the table stood a perfect chocolate cake graced with strawberries and “Happy birthday, Sasha!” written neatly across with a few little hearts.

“What a pretty cake!” she gasped. And before anything else could be said, she was already sticking her fork in the cake, hungrily stuffing her mouth. “You’re a genius, Niccolo!”

Though accustomed to her habits, he couldn’t contain his laughter at the scene in front of him, closing his eyes to savor the moment. Seeing her joy was everything he could ever ask for. Being the reason for her joy was more than he deemed himself worthy of.

He opened his eyes with a sigh. “Happy birthday, Sasha.”

Before the tombstone lay white roses and a piece of chocolate cake.

Headcannon that in a modern high school au setting, Sasha would meet Niccolo by being forced to help clean up after cooking club as punishment for continuously stealing the club’s ingredients as an extra snack not realizing she wasn’t allowed to. Niccolo, who is usually the one who stays back to clean because of his dedication, ends up developing feelings for Sasha over the next two weeks. (He actually didn’t like her at first). Even after her punishment is over, she’s made a habit of stopping by the cooking club to be Niccolo’s taste tester, and he’ll sometimes give her little bags of cookies or an extra dish with lunch on random days. To everyone else, their seemingly close friendship came out of nowhere.

(Also Niccolo is a transfer student from Marley Academy).

Attack on Titan AU Christmas Headcanons

Some headcanons I thought of, concerning how the gang all spend Christmas (AU where they actually celebrate it)

Eren - Zeke ends up coming to stay with the Jaegers because his mum has gone away with her new boyfriend. Carla and Grisha attempt to keep the boys from arguing by getting them to help with dinner. However, they constantly wind each other up, even during after dinner games. In the end Carla tells them both off. For gifts, she gets them both nice jumpers (she wants Zeke to feel included) and they have to wear them when visiting extended family and friends. Eren is horrified when they have to go see Mr Shadis (as he’s his Home Room/maths teacher). Eren spends the entire holiday texting Mikasa and Armin about how furious he is with his stupid family.

Mikasa - had been expecting a quiet Christmas with her parents but then Grandpa Ackerman turned up. Mikasa’s parents were worried at first - Grandpa Ackerman does not get turned away when he invites himself over. He carries himself with the swagger of a mafia boss. Panicking, Mikasa’s parents scrabble around to make their dinner stretch to four people. The three of them endure some terrifying stories about Grandpa Ackerman’s youth - many involving kidnapping. Mikasa updates her group chat with Eren and Armin who find each tale very entertaining. In the morning, Grandpa Ackerman disappears, leaving Mikasa’s parents bewildered.

Armin - as his parents are normally almost always out of town working, they come home for Christmas. They insist on cooking but Armin’s Grandpa prepares the meal when it all goes wrong. The final spread is incredible and after dinner they play a long, civilised game of Trivial Pursuit.

Jean - spends the day sulking in his room as his presents were a combination of practical items and outdated clothes - nothing remotely similar to what he had asked for. His father hints that he should help out with the meal prep but Jean slinks away and plays on his Xbox to avoid being drawn into it. His father also disappears off with a beer, leaving Mrs Kirchstein to prepare everything. Jean falls into an even deeper melancholy when everyone on the main group chat stops responding to his messages.

Sasha - is banned from the kitchen before Christmas dinner. All the food for Christmas Day has been locked away. She gets her younger siblings to steal for her and ends up being told off by her father. After dinner the whole family goes for a walk across their farmland but Sasha stays in her room, on her phone. When the others return, she has continued picking at leftovers and has fallen into a food coma. She awakes to discover they have started on presents and Christmas pudding without her, and is furious. The next day, Sasha has a second Christmas dinner with Niccolo and his family.

Connie - really enjoys Christmas. Presents always cause a lot of excitement and chaos among his younger siblings. Connie is really patient with the younger ones and keeps them entertained all day.

Christa & Ymir - Christa’s father has recently got in contact with her and she gets invited to spend Christmas with his family. As she is nervous Christa invites Ymir, who has no plans. In fact, Ymir has never revealed anything about her family or homelife to anyone. Christa meets her father, stepmother, uncle, half sister and 3 half brothers (one of whom is a baby). Their Christmas is incredibly formal and conservative; the entire family goes to church in the morning, followed by a lavish meal and presents afterwards. Christa is embarrassed by how much the family has spent on her gifts. She decides to share the presents with her mother (along with all the other food and things she has taken from their house). Christa’s mother could not make the meal as she had had to work in the restaurant over Christmas and was only able to grab a meagre meal with colleagues. 

Reiner - spends Christmas with his aunt, uncle, cousins and mother. The Brauns tend to be fairly fiery and Reiner inadvertently gives a few opinions which then ignite an argument. This gets out of hand as his relatives continue to drink more. He escapes upstairs to the guest room he is staying in. Gabi finds him but after a while he even becomes tired of her energy and keeps himself to himself during the remainder of the visit. When his friends ask about his Christmas he lies and says it was really good.

Bertolto - has a quiet Christmas day with his parents. The highlight of his holiday is receiving a rare text from Annie after he messaged her to have a nice Christmas (Annie: “you too”).

Annie - spends Christmas with her father. The pair of them enjoy their traditions of going for a long walk through their woods and nearby park, followed by all their favourite food on Christmas Day. The day after they always go to watch a football game together.

Hange - is a school boarder but has to go home to stay with her parents over the holidays. She reluctantly goes to church with them (they are Wallists) and endures their conservative opinions, critical comments about her appearance, the way she carries herself etc. Hange is almost bored to tears over their obsession with the vegetables they have grown and pickled especially for the occasion. Her only lifeline is talking to Levi on Skype/Facetime in the evenings. She counts down the days until she can go back to school.

Levi - Before the holidays, the others prepare a cake and presents in the Scouts’ headquarters/classroom. Hange and Miche coerce Levi into attending his own birthday party. His reluctance is due to the fuss and mess which parties create. Levi and Hange have a tradition of eating dinner together and swapping birthday/Christmas presents on the 24th (before her parents pick her up). Levi spends Christmas Day by himself. He works out; goes for a scenic walk into town to look at cleaning appliances; buys some tea; cleans both his and Hange’s apartments; makes tea and reads until he falls asleep (i.e like any typical free day).

Hcs inspired by the AOT Royal AU post specifically for Sasha and Niccolo.

Nicco and Sasha first met when he realised food was going missing from his kitchen so he decided to hide there overnight and lo and behold there she was! The brunette was not only stealing snacks but cooking whole meals for herself.

When he threats to tell on her, she begs for a job instead. Sasha is known to be honest and her raving reviews on Nicco’s cooking softens him enough that he accepts her offer.

At first it was a little awkward and tense in the kitchen but then came that one fated day. That one moment everyone should experience whilst in the kitchen.

FLOUR FIGHT!!

Of course it was Connie who planted the suggestion of a flour fight to break the ice with the seemingly cold chef and Jean with his big brain moves telling her how to ambush him.

Sasha played coy and asked Nicco to teach her how to bake bread and that’s when the ambush began. Niccolo was stunned by the audacity of this woman but decided what has he got to lose and went nuts with the flour.

The whole place is a mess and even weeks later they’re finding flour in random spots.

Look up the definition of whipped and you’ll see this man’s face. But you’d rarely hear him give a compliment to anyone. His love language is acts of service and Sasha’s is words of affirmation.

Niccolo always gives the most delicious looking plate to Sasha and he won’t even deny it when he’s called out on it. He does not give two craps about the hierarchy and will treat everyone based on whether he likes them that day or not.

He feeds her and she praises him. Perfect match in my opinion.

All the shenanigans that would go on if the worlds saddest crew went to the happiest place on Earth

includes: Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Erwin, Sasha, Connie, Jean, Zeke, and Reiner. Totally SFW. Fluffy hcs ahead 💞

Eren

Fights thru crowds to be the first in line at all his rides, and eventually forces the crew to all get fast passes bc he’s sick and tired of waiting

Goes to the spinning tea cups and spins his way too fast that he physically cannot stand and nearly vomits all over himself

Mikasa has to carry him over her shoulder after that for a little while

And he still literally has no self control after this, he’ll go on a rollercoaster regardless if he’s just eaten and stuffed himself to the brim. He’ll just takes the L and vomit it all up afterwards

Instead of getting Mickey ears like everyone else, he gets a Kylo Ren cape and helmet

Has Mikasa on his shoulders during the parade so that she can get a better view of all the floats and characters :’)

Mikasa

Gets a Disney Princess makeover!! She gets the full Snow White transformation and Eren just skdjsjsjjs he’s beside himself

She convinces Eren to do the novelty drawings where they make their heads and features all huge and exaggerated; she treasures it forever ;u;

Keeps an eye at Eren at all times and gets jealous when all the Disney princesses get flirty with him

She buys Eren a Mickey balloon under the guise of a sweet little gift but really she uses it as a tracker to know where he’s at at all times if she happens to lose sight of him

Armin

A little girl mistook him as Cinderella and thought he was so pretty lmaooo everyone was making fun of him after that, poor bby

Tries to carefully plan out the day ahead, constantly checking the Disney app to check wait times, arranges when and where they should stop for meals, snacks and hydration stations, and even schedules around shows!!

Checks the gift shops to buy him, Eren, and Mikasa Disney friendship bracelets :’)

His favorite ride in the whole park is Soarin’ and wants to ride ALL the water rides

Whenever he spots a commemorative plaque for a statue or location of the park, he has to stop and read bc the history/story behind it fascinates him. He just likes to know things

Levi

Dad #1 of the group

He has to make sure all his children are in line and none of them get lost

The cast members make him stand up against the “you have to be this tall to ride” board each and every time to make sure that he fits the height requirement

He quickly gets sick of the ridicule and just waits on everyone outside of every ride with all their drinks and toys

The group’s solution to this is to buy Levi a pair of Tinkerbell Mickey Ears to “add height”… he is not amused but he wears them anyway

He and Mikasa take a photo with Snow White and the seven now eight dwarves… “But Levi there is only ONE Grumpy… SMILE!!” “Tch… shut the hell up.”

Erwin

Dad #2 of the group

Has to make sure Dad #1 doesn’t lose his ducking mind

He made matching t-shirts for the entire crew!!! They all say “Survey Corp: Disney World 2022” in glittery letters and everyone’s name is on the back of their shirts. Except his says “Dad #2” and Levi “Dad #1” The emblem on the shirt are the Wings of Freedom and they have Mickey ears on themskskskksks

Also wearing the typical dad fit— khaki shorts with the shirt tucked, New Balance trainers, Fanny pack, and you can see streaks of sunscreen across his nose bc p r o t e c t i o n!

At one point, Connie accidentally falls and scrapes his knee and Daddy Erwin SPRINGS into action, grabbing a Mickey Mouse bandaid from his first aid kit

He takes photos and videos of everything and everyone like the proud dad that he is

Gets Walkie Talkies to be in constant communication with Levi:

Erwin on the walkie, to Levi who is literally only 10 ft ahead of him: I got eyes on Splash Mountain, I’m estimating about a 60 minute wait, should return at 1600 hrs. Over.

Levi, on the walkie, glaring back at Erwin: Fine, but we’re getting something to eat after this is over

Erwin: After this is what, Levi? I didn’t quite get that. Over.

Levi: You heard what I said Erwin, quit playing this shitty game

Erwin: You have to say ‘over’ when you’re finished speaking, Levi, otherwise I won’t hear you. Over.

Levi: EVEN AFTER IVE JUST ENDED THE SENTENCE WITH ‘OVER’ , I SAY IT AGAIN?

Erwin: Say what again? Over.

Then you’d see her double fisting the huge churros. She looks like a Churro walrus as she stuffs her face with both at the same time

The guys eventually have to get her a child leash backpack to keep her from running amok on all the food stands

Also gets a Disney Princess Makeover!!! She gets the Belle transformation. So cute ;u; Nic would be all over her, saying he’s her Prince Adam

Her feet start to hurt from all the walking and wearing the wrong shoes, so Nic’s solution it to get her giant plush Minnie slippers. “ITS LIKE IM WALKING ON CLOUDS HHHHH”

HAS to take a photo kissing Nic in front of Cinderella’s castle <3 (group vomit ensues)

Ofc gets special souvenirs for each of her little siblings and her parents!!

Connie

HAS to get the classic Mickey cap and ears with his name embroidered across the forehead

Forced Sasha to take pictures with him and Chip and Dale and it was the cutest shit ever. Double twinning!! :’)

Then he has Jean take a pic with him in front of Cinderella’s castle doing the “I’m flying, Jack!” Titanic pose. Jean is Jack and Connie is Rose with his arms spread like a bird.

Calls his mom at the end of every day to tell her how much fun he’s having, about all the shows and attractions, the characters he’s met, and the food he’s eat. She’s SOO happy to hear from him but always bugs him to make sure he’s wearing sunscreen, staying safe, and looking out for Sasha and Jean

Jean

Acts totally unimpressed by the Disney Magic but eventually it overcomes him, and by the time they settle in to watch Mickey’s Magic parade and firework show he is SOOOOO pumped

Is one of the first to get drunk at Epcot because he “Drinks Around the World” and then tries to climb to the top of the Epcot globe.

Levi puts an end to that real quick and basically water boards Jean to sober him up

He gets a commemorative collector’s pin both to signify his first trip to Disney World and honor his fallen friend, Marco, who he knows would have LOVED the trip himself. He keeps that pin on his person at all times now

Zeke

He was super excited about this vacation because he saw it as an opportunity to bond with his little brother, and do all the things he would’ve loved to do with Eren if they got to grow up together

When they go to animal kingdom, everytime they come across an ape exhibit or a Jungle Book themed area, the guys point and laugh. “LOOK ZEKE IT’S YOU”

“Damn, it smells like shit in this park… what the fuck, Zeke?”

This quickly grows old and he just becomes pouty the entire time

He and Eren get light sabers in Star Wars land and re-enact a fight scene, light saber sound effects and all; Zeke uses the force to choke Eren. “Eren I am…. Your brother”. “NOOOOO”.

Gets himself a Darth Vader robe and helmet to complete his look

Makes ONE (1) joke to Levi about him being Baby Yoda and damn near lost his front teeth

Reiner

Falls in love with the Cinderella actress and as they’re taking a photo, he actually gets down on one knee to propose to her; she thinks it’s a joke, he does not

Takes lots and lots of photos and gets a ton of souvenirs to give to Gabi and Falco since they weren’t able to come :’)

At one point he FaceTimes his kiddos to show them all the cool stuff they’re missing out on 😭 they get sooooo jealous

This trip actually does wonders for him, being around such uplifting Disney magic, he comes back from the trip with a much sunnier and joyous disposition and everyone can tell. It’s like it healed his severely damaged inner child

And at first his PTSD sorta prevents him from riding some of the rides, but by the end of it he’s calling dibs for all the front row seats on the coasters and having the time of his life

other random hc:

They keep all the photos they take from riding the rides; in all of them, you see Connie and Sasha screaming their damn heads off, Zeke looks like he’s about to puke, Armin may have passed out ones or twice, and the rest are just smiling with their hands up

They get a good laugh out of the ones where someone is making a stupid expression

Everyone is soooo exhausted at the end of the trip and knocked out during the car ride home, except for Sasha who is beggingggggg Erwin to stop at McDonalds for a late night snack

But Sasha we have food at home

It was definitely a vacation everyone needed. So they could let loose and remember what it was like to have real fun. Everyone’s inner child was healed this trip :’)
