Redrew my American Dragon sona! ✨

I've had this idea ever since I've rewatched the "Dragon Summit" episode a while back. Seeing all of those other dragons from around the world, it had just me thinking and itching to draw my own. Jake may be the American Dragon, but he's seen mainly protecting NYC, he can pretty much do that on his own without much help. So, I made my dragon be stationed to guard and protect the magical creatures of the Hudson Valley region in NY. While he's not THE American Dragon, he's one of the many local dragons (nationwide) who can serve as allies to Jake, whenever needed. He's a short but sturdy force of nature, his fighting style involves him being able to cut thru dense treetops, burrow himself into the ground and out, as well as burst thru harsh bedrock. An Earth / Rock dragon, if you will.

Scary Finley! had alot of fun sketching this one. The axolotl inspired gills r alot more visible here, plus i gave him a moray eel-inspired second jaw! yk, just for some extra charm ;)

he's supposed to be over water here, so his hair is laid back alot more. I'd like to think its rlly heavy and you can only ever truly see the full volume of it when he's under water with it, since it sorta just clings to him mostly when on the surface. I did give it a lil bit of a curl, but that's mostly cuz i couldnt help myself hehe

Luong Lao Shi and Jake Long In my rendition, Jake is older (19 yrs old), more experienced as the American Dragon, so I figured he definitely would start to look a bit more like his s1 body type packing some muscle BUT still more lean and sharp like his s2 design. The horns and whiskers are my lil extra flairs. As for Gramps, he's older too still has some fight in him left but not for too long during the day. Dragons (in my headcanon) do tend to live longer than the average human life expectancy but their body (even in dragon form) does have its limits passed a certain age.
