I hate going back to my workjob after scare acting all weekend.

I spent the weekend making monsters, crashing into rooms, towering over people, voice booming and echoing off the halls as tens of thousands of people ran in screaming terror away from me, and now I gotta answer emails? Godzilla never had to deal with this shit.

Here’s a little rant about my work :)

So it’s October. I’m an actor. Which means that it’s scare acting this month! I work for this one organisation that I worked for last year. I loved it last year! Looked forward all year to do it again.

I got my audition for this place through college, however there were over 50 people auditioning and only 18 of us got places. So it wasn’t easy for us.

But god we get treated like shit all because we come from this college despite the amount of people who come from other colleges! We’re basically the left overs.

The thing that annoys me the most though is that we don’t get shifts. Everyone else gets shifts, while me and the others from my college have to literally beg for shifts. We had 3 performances last week and I begged for 1 shift, was told not to come in on 1 of the days, and actually got given a shift on the last day.

And to make matters worse is that they are understaffed! They’re not giving us shifts while also not having enough people to effectively operate our mazes.

Like I do this as a hobby and I only get a few weeks a year when I can do it. I just want to work! I had to book time off my other job to work here and I’m not being given work!

Ahhh! This doesn’t fully express my opinions of it but I need to rant!

guys i really wanna apply to be a scare actor at my local haunt but i dont have the time between theater, forensics, ap classes, and maintaining sleep 😭 plus its kind of intense n physically demanding for a first job tbh… sobbing over it tho

This was probably my favorite costume I've worn so far. I actually ended up in the promotional material this year!

Had a dream last night mainly about being back in my scare actor job. Don't remember too much but this one vivid moment where I was in a graveyard/garden section in the back of a haunted house with two other actors. We're chilling waiting for the shift to start when the younger of the two I'm with turns to me and says "hey if they ask can you go fill in inside? My therapist told me not to get into stressful situations" and then I woke up still feeling dumbfounded.
