While the group was excited to be under an actual label, Level Up Entertainment wiped their previous discography from the internet to give the group a “fresh start.” It’s been confirmed that this was done without any of the member's consent, and they’re still upset over their old discography essentially being lost.

Upon their debut under Level Up, the band did relevantly well and garnered a small yet dedicated fanbase. They still busked around Seoul and often performed mini concerts around Korea while giving out copies of their albums in hopes of gaining more fans. While things looked fine to the public, the band was struggling creatively behind the scenes due to artistic differences with their management.

In late 2017, Ash made a post on his Instagram story expressing how trapped he felt under his company and how the group was being punished with inactivity for not conforming to the image their label wanted for them. The post was later deleted, but it caused some buzz on the internet, gaining them more support.

Despite this support, Level Up Entertainment, in what is now known as an abuse of power, would disband 4OCEANS but would not release the members of their 10-year contract. After a lengthy legal battle, Ash, Logan, and Ivy were able to get out of their contracts, while Jinyoung was not so lucky and remained under Level Up Entertainment.

Ash would join Angelico Entertainment, apparently very close to the former CEO, Son Jinhwa, and produce under the label until he made his idol debut in 2020 with the now-disbanded group Cicada. After the abrupt disbandment of the group, Ash would be added to Rejects without notice, just appearing with them on Inkigayo one day.

In 2008, CASSIOPEIA MEDIA debuted its first group, STAR☆GIRLS, a nine membered girl group that almost immediately became popular due to their fresh and mysterious sound, almost beating groups like GIRL'S DAY and SISTAR. In 2018, STARBORN CREATIVE would acquire SUNRISE ENTERTAINMENT as its second and last subsidiary label and rebrand it to PANDORA LABELS, disbanding BOMBSHELL! and moving many of their groups over to the label. Many protested this plan, stating that the trainees who were already at PANDORA LABELS would potentially be kicked out to make room for the groups. This turned out to be half true, with fifteen trainees leaving the company soon after the rebranding. However, STARBORN CREATIVE did not stop, continuing to move their groups to the label and eventually debuting PANDORA LABELS' first group, FLEURSHINE, in 2021. 

HOUSE OF SCORPIO is a fictional subsidiary label under STARBORN CREATIVE. 

In 2017, it was announced that STARBORN CREATIVE would open its first subsidiary label, HOUSE OF SCORPIO, to serve as a music production company. It would also serve as an acting agency for the actors under STARBORN CREATIVE. HOUSE OF SCORPIO was received with open arms and warm welcomes by many fans, and many producers and actors who were once under the main company were moved to HOUSE OF SCORPIO.

Welcome to the Shadow of the Eclipse

October 4-31, 2023

Some introductory notes

The “shadow of the eclipse” is a time period lasting from 10 days before the first eclipse, to three days after the final eclipse. It is recommended not to start anything new, or schedule anything important, during these days - as usual I refer everyone to the 1981 wedding of Lady Diana Spencer to the Prince of Wales, as an example.

Of course we live in a place/time which scoffs at letting astrology help with the timing of events - therefore don’t lose hope if something falls unavoidably within the eclipse shadow. Just be prepared.

I wanted to take a more thorough approach to delineation, this time. I hope it’s helpful.

South Node Solar Eclipse

A solar eclipse happens when the New Moon lies close (in the Zodiac) to either the North Lunar Node, or to the South one. It occurred to me to do a little research on whether which Node is involved, makes any difference - and yes, it does.

Astrologers call the South Node “the dragon’s tail” - Steven Forrest calls the South Node, “the dragon’s butt” - because here we are “pooping out” what we don’t need and can’t use. (One person’s poop, however, is another person’s fertilizer.)

Eclipses conjunct the South Lunar Node, like the October 14 one, have an outflowing (outpooping?) of energy. They tend to feature external events which we have to “rise up to.”

Going down that list was a very uncomfortable trip down memory lane for me. When those South Node eclipses affected me, it was generally a harbinger of some difficult “external event” which I had little to no control over - which is not the same thing as saying “it wasn’t my fault.” I brought some of it on myself due to bad decisions. Some karma chickens coming home to roost, in other words. Not all of them were dire, though. One in particular gave me something of a respite from what had been happening in my life - it was conjunct my natal 12th House cusp.

Saros Series “7 South”

This eclipse is part of Saros Series “7 South.” Bernadette Brady writes,

The individual experiencing this series will find that huge obstacles will suddenly and easily clear or, on the negative side, a pending potential crisis will suddenly manifest and move through his or her life very rapidly. Either way the individual will feel that everything is moving at great speed. (The Eagle and the Lark)

Whatever Shall We Do?

1) Determine which of your natal houses this eclipse falls in.

2) Determine whether the eclipse makes an aspect to anything in your chart. Use a 1° orb. In my case, the conjunctions, squares, sesquiquads (135°), inconjuncts, and oppositions made the most obvious impacts.

3) If there is a close aspect to a planet, check to see which house(s) that planet rules. One South Node eclipse was conjunct the ruler of my natal 4th House, and I moved three months later.

4) Avoid strenuously negative thoughts. If you put a lot of energy into anticipating that something is going to be horrible and painful and disastrous, well, guess what - that’s exactly what’s going to happen. If you catch yourself falling into a panic, try to refocus the energy into “the best possible outcome.”

Lunar Eclipse in Taurus

On October 28, there will be a Lunar Eclipse paired with the Full Moon in Taurus. Something has been building and it’s time to let it out. Everything feels bigger and larger than life during Eclipse Season.

Eclipses can be unsettling, but they also bring about much-needed endings and beginnings. We could be navigating through some difficult self reflection that will bring out what’s best for us in the long run.

Eclipses can be a sign of new beginnings, major life events, or a turning point in our life. They can be a reminder of powerful things in our life that need change. They can be a wake-up call to let go of what no longer serves us and make room for new beginnings. Something could end so that we can start new. Things could seem fated to happen, for better or worse. Take any messages, whether they are big or small, that you get from an Eclipse as non-negotiable and firm. The Eclipse wants you to have a new experience, so be open to change.

Be patient and open-minded. If we don’t like where we end up, we can make changes, but they cannot be backtracking. Eclipses are there to illuminate something in our life. It is there to protect and help us. Always be grateful for the truth, even when it’s hard.

The Full Moon can be helpful in highlighting our existing problems so that we can identify where we need to restore balance. Enlightenment can give us a great chance to explore our emotional needs, which can lead to more positive actions and decisions.

This Eclipse serves as a final prompt, nudge or push to make improvements in Taurus and Scorpio areas of life or areas in our charts. Feelings of discontent can magnify. It’s a time to resolve matters, strike a balance, take a lesson and move on.

With the Full Moon in Taurus, we have the right energy to look to when life feels overwhelming, overstimulating, or just too much. Taurus energy helps you connect to subtle energies of nature, like the Sun on your face, the breeze on your cheek, and the ground under your feet to feel your center. As the Eclipse energy peaks in Taurus, we feel it soften us. We feel embraced and become a vessel for the overwhelming emotions brought on by Scorpio and Taurus Eclipse Season.

This provides us with an opportunity to explore our emotional needs within the context of the house polarity where the Eclipse occurs within our natal chart.

It’s time to level up in the finance and material world. Taurus opens up the view of our tangible realities, and joys. Intimate relationships are at the forefront, such as personal comfort levels and values and sexuality. Relationships could be challenged, broken, or strengthened around this time. Now is the time to address past patterns that have been preventing us from achieving personal fulfillment, particularly those related to sharing, possessiveness, comfort, and self-esteem.

The events, circumstances, and realizations that occur around the time of this Eclipse teach us that we need to reconnect with our physical natures and needs. To be content, we must recognize and accept our need to take care of ourselves and feel grounded and strong as individuals. Increasing our earnings could be a part of this, as could more effectively managing other personal resources, including our personal possessions, valuables, assets, and talents.

We can become aware of the areas in which we are over-relying on others, whether that’s emotionally, physically or materially, and where it’s come at the expense of our self-worth.

Whatever rises to the surface, whether it is emotional distress or difficult conversations with someone close to you, don't make snap judgments or decisions. The best way to refresh will be to slow down and tune into what we need moment by moment. We should leave room in our schedules for breathing room against unforeseen events. Refrain from big decisions until after Eclipse season, if possible. Clean, purge and release.

While we’re met with reflection and transformation, it will leave us feeling drained. We will need to reevaluate our life’s balance. Rest and relax as much as possible during this Eclipse weekend. The best thing to do is lay low and allow the universe to work its magic.

Energy Update: April 2023

April is a "2" Universal Month [4 (April) + 7 (2023) = 11 = 1+1 = 2] in a "7" Universal Year. Two is the number of coming together which is cosmically at odds with the energy of Aries (sign #1 which rules most of the month) and the 7 energy of the year itself which is all about finding your own answers. There may be a push and pull effect throughout the month as we struggle to exert our independence but are also pulled back together, sometimes preternaturally against our wills.

The Set Up

We begin the month of April with the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Chiron in Aries; Venus, Uranus, and our North Node in Taurus, Mars in Cancer, Satun and Neptune in Pisces, and Pluto in Aquarius. By month's end the Sun and Mercury will have moved into Taurus and Venus will have continued her journey onward into Gemini. We will be experiencing the effects of the beginning of retrograde season as Mercury retrogrades mid-month and Pluto retrogrades on the first of May. Additionally, we will be entering eclipse season with our solar black moon eclipse in Aries on 4/20.

All eyes will be on Mercury and Pluto which will both retrograde within the window between our solar eclipse in Aries and our lunar eclipse in Scorpio. This is not by accident, these planets have been in constant contact with one another since the beginning of 2021 when both Mercury and Venus went in retrograde in a butterfly pattern around Pluto (then sitting in Capricorn). We've come a long way, but something may be holding us back. We're in the death throw stages of what was and all of April will (in some way) be a reflection of that.

The Nitty Gritty

Though Pluto does not formally retrograde until the 1st of May, the energy of the upcoming retrograde will be in effect all month and carry us through the rest of the year as well. This is because Pluto has just barely arrived in the sign of Aquarius (entered on 3/23) and this is the first time that Pluto has been IN the sign of Aquarius in 248 years! This is a big deal - nobody in living memory has lived through a Pluto in Aquarius phase - it is the deep unknown. That said, Pluto will retrograde back into the sign of Capricorn over its upcoming underworld phase, so we aren't quite out of the Capricornian woods (yet). Though our upcoming Mercury retrograde cycle will be felt very immediately in our personal lives, Pluto in Aquarius is going to set the tone of our lives for the next 20 years.

Mercury has often been called the Messenger of the Gods and I have found that the planet plays a similar role in our lives of contextualizing the intense energy of those outer planets that are, quite literally, out of this world. That our first aspect of April is our sweet Messenger meeting up in square with Pluto is not a coincidence. What is happening on the Plutonian front is so far beyond us - what this new Pluto adventure in Aquarius will bring us is completely beyond comprehension. Mercury cannot help us here. All we can do is dare to dream or play the waiting game.

There is an air of "fate" to all of this as we have entered eclipse season early with our new moon in Aries on 3/21 that set the stages at 00° Aries for our solar eclipse one month later on 4/20 at 29° Aries. This is the ill-advised Black Moon, a moderately uncomfortable occurrence in which two new moons occur in a row in the same sign. That a black moon is also eclipsed is a thing to which magicians cheer and the layperson cringes away in fear is not without reason; it is not for the faint of heart. Many of our planets make aspects to our north node as we pass through the month, showing that the doors of fate have swung wide open, or, conversely, banged suddenly shut. Eyes wide open. Look where you are going. Bring a towel. Insert whatever superstition will make you feel better here. Most of the time you get what you put into life but during eclipse season, you might just get what you deserve. That makes some people quake in their boots and some quiver with antici...

Which one are you? That may tell you a lot if you are willing to look.

Mars pings the north node through a sweet sextile on 4/4, Mercury conjuncts it under the light of our Libra full moon on 4/5, Saturn trines it on 4/19, and the Sun conjuncts it on 4/24. And that's not even accounting for our black moon eclipse on 4/20. Any and all of these days will be a total wild card - take that as is befitting you and how you feel about chance.

The full moon on 4/6 may hurt like a primal wound as the Sun will be tightly conjunct to Chiron, our wounded healer. With the moon in Libra in play, one might assume that it will be a domestic thing or perhaps a lack of a domestic thing. Pains around loneliness, togetherness, family, coupledom, freedom, and people-pleasing may all run quite close to the surface. Mercury conjunct the North Node may make it hard to watch your tongue so beware of the truths you are not ready to tell. Or embrace them, nothing that involves the lunar nodes happens by accident. Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow at 05° Taurus on 4/8 in exact sextile with Mars in Cancer. This is the only repeating aspect that Mercury will make through this retrograde journey and it shows the colors of what we may experience. Here we can see that Mars is there to lend a helping hand, perhaps giving energy or physical support to the Traveller's widdershins journey. If you do Mercury magic in advance of their retrograde cycles, I would suggest considering adding elements of Mars in your workings for this cycle. This aspect will repeat a second time when Mercury is retrograded on 4/23 and a third time in May once Mercury is in their post-retrograde stage.

4/11 is a good day to have a good day as the Sun making its annual conjunction with Jupiter and Venus enters the mutable air sign of Gemini. Venus in Gemini is quixotic and change-seeking - this is a great day to celebrate your successes by doing or trying something new. Go to the new restaurant that you've been eyeing or take in the newest exhibit at your favorite museum. The more novel your experience, the more you will get out of the day. Send me a postcard all about it and thank me later.

Venus in Gemini is not without quarrels though that should come with the territory (Gemini loves a good fight...I mean a good "discussion" in which they are shown to be the most knowledgeable and clever think of them all). Venus squares off with Saturn in Pisces on 4/14 which brings some tensions to the table. Both Gemini and Pisces can be pretty loose with the truth so it could be a good fun row but with Saturn involved, it probably still carries an important lesson. This is not a day to take lightly.

Saturn makes a sextile to the North node and trine to the South Node on 4/19, bringing that Chance energy back to into the zeitgeist just in time for our Eclipsed black moon at 29° Aries on 4/20. Pluto, sitting just barely into Aquarius, comes in for the play with a hard square on this, too. Some eclipses are birth phases and some are death phases - we can infer from the Plutonian influence that this will be the latter for most people. Mercury retrogrades the very next day so this will be some intense liminal space. Again, maybe wear some iron on that day, or carry a very big stick.

I don't expect this Mercury retrograde cycle to be particularly difficult so long as you have learned how to manage the inevitabilities of a Mercury retrograde. With Mars adding some gas, we just need to make sure that we aren't setting TOO big a fire. We've had several Mercury retrograde cycles in the earth signs (a year and a half of them) and I don't want to call them old hat now but they may start to feel like a very comfortable pair of old shoes. Check that the soles haven't rotted out though - earth can feel very stable until it's not. I'll write more about this retrograde specifically in another post.

The last week in April may feel a little hard. We'll be in the middle of our two eclipses, both Venus and Mars are making aspects with Chiron which spell domestic troubles, and Mercury is off a wandering. Additionally, Mars makes an aspect to Uranus which is always an indication that you should count all your fingers and your toes - pretty much before you do anything. Whether you're just closing the door to your car or playing with explosives, the chances are higher than average of sustaining an injury. Especially if Mercury retrogrades make you sloppy (I'm looking at you, Virgos).

May is going to happen fast and will bring with it our Pluto retrograde, a Mars ingress into the fixed fire sign of Leo, and our eclipse full moon in Scorpio. This energy is going to slow down anytime soon.

This is the second year I've kept a month-by-month list. Makes me feel like I've accomplished something and also helps prevent those moments of "I read a really cool book/fanfic but I can't remember what it was! DX"

In 2021, my favorite was Legendborn by Tracy Deonn. With the 2022 list, it's harder to pick a favorite, but I think it's tied between some of the scifi I read - the Murderbot series, Iron Widow, Project Hail Mary, and Space Opera. They were all so fun and all had very different tones. I also loved Naomi Novik's Scholomance trilogy and Tracy Deonn's Bloodmarked (the sequel to my 2021 favorite).

Stars Fading But I Linger

Auron has been referred to as a “dreamer of dreams.” He has a passion for writing and creating stories. However, the Auron we know now is jaded and unmoved (or at least that’s the impression he wants to give off.) “Life has not been fair to any. Fairness is a dream conjured up by those naïve enough to believe we live in a world where things don’t have to be taken if you want them.” He rose to his current position through ambition and holds high standards for himself and those he surrounds himself with. This height of hubris may give us clues to where this character came from and where he's going.

Auron is associated with tower imagery. The most obvious is the large painting of a tower behind his desk, as seen in the Holiday Party episode. However, there are other mentions and hints of towers as well. Auron’s office appears to be high above the city, mimicking the lofty space. His listener is referred to as “Rook,” short for rookie. The rook chess piece resembles a tower. After their argument, Faust muses “I wonder, brother, from your ivory tower can you see anything down here? You’re so out of touch.” 

Around the world, tower’s are symbols of hope and promise. They signify wealth and act as waypoints as well. However in media, towers can evoke a sense of isolation, loneliness, and foreboding. They may also represent the hubris and ego of a character or group of characters. The tower card in tarot holds the meaning of “sudden change, upheaval, chaos, revelation, awakening,” as well as “unforeseen catastrophe.” (Also of note: The tower card immediately follows the devil in the major arcana. The devil is associated with “shadow self, attachment, addiction, restriction, sexuality,” in addition to “disruptive revelation.” This may tie into Faust’s “deal with the devil” that gets references a few times. Thought that was neat.)

Auron's entire operation is beginning to show cracks. His head of talent has been fired after several failed ventures, and both Derek and Jessie threaten the power he holds over his illegal activities. On top of that, Auron has closed himself off, an example of which is distancing himself from his coworkers during social gatherings. He is just now beginning to open up to Rook. Auron's cool veneer slips after a brief argument with his brother. He admits he has a habit of indulging in temptation behind closed doors, and during the ride home from dinner with Rook he states “I would choose me over everything else.”

These story beats parallel Source Finn’s struggles and current state of mind. Finn is overworked and under scrutiny by the highest power in his realm. He keeps himself busy with his duties as a steward, remaining isolated in his tower to continue his work. After he begins meddling with the Dreamers—an act which he reprimanded his partner for long ago—he can’t stop himself. Left to his own devices, Finn persists. Both are avoiding close relationships, and both became involved in the Bittersweet trio's unexpected Christmas roadtrip.

We can even take a step further into speculation territory. All of this can be used to make the argument that Auron has a strong connection to Finn and the magics he has been experimenting with; if not the Auron in the story at present, then a Source Auron prior to passing on to the world Bittersweet take’s place. He could have been responsible for creating or first discovering the garden of dreams that Finn continues to tend to. This would give greater gravity to him being a "dreamer of dreams" that created worlds with second chances. However, the responsibility or the effects of indulgence became too much, and eventually he became a dreamer himself. Maybe he was Finn’s predecessor, or maybe he was that fellow steward that worked alongside Finn, and all that remains now are unconscious memories of lost dreams and a tower that foreshadows inner and external turmoil.

Eclipse Cycle of Scorpio-Taurus

Eclipses represent a time of change and transformation. These shifts might not take place all at once, because Eclipses occur in a series. This change could start or continue through the Eclipses that happen in the same set of signs. This Eclipse is part of seven taking place on the Taurus and Scorpio axis from November 2021 through October 2023.

Eclipses always occur in cycles, and the first Scorpio Lunar Eclipse of this series happened on May 15, 2022. The second occurred on October 25, 2022. This third Eclipse on May 5, 2023 represents the finish line.

While Eclipses can bring sudden events, the themes or events that come up during the time might not be so surprising. It’s also incredibly healing and empowering! This Eclipse is here to remind you of your power.

As you shift through your deepest layers, remember to love all of them. They are part of you and your story. They need love and acceptance to heal or change. Remember you are only human! You’re not perfect, and that’s great. Only knowing your whole self can help you reach your full potential.

Lunar Eclipses are about relationships and polarities. With this Taurus-Scorpio axis involved, we need to find balance between the Taurus and Scorpio ruled areas of life. The Moon in Scorpio wants us to find emotional fulfillment through complexities, intangibles and mysteries while the Taurus Sun draws our attention to the need for the simple, tangible things in life. Neglecting either end will backfire on us.

Taurus encourages us to connect with nature and use our senses. Taurus focuses on more tangible assets, like physical space to feel supported and nourishment of the body. Scorpio asks us to connect with our inner world and release emotional reactions to find the present moment. Scorpio focuses on energetic resources like transformation and courage to travel inward. Both signs want us to align with the rhythms of the Universe. We can feel the vastness of life and become inspired by our own power. Both give us the tools to ground our energy, transform through healing and step into unknown territory.

When we align with the lower sides of Scorpio we don’t allow ourselves to feel. We distract ourselves with external preoccupations that lead to anxiety and obsession. We will get anxiety over future scenarios, fearing what is to come and thinking we could lose everything. We might get jealous over people who appear successful.

These lower sides question security, worth and underlying fear. If you find yourself aligning with the shadow sides, know that it’s okay. You are seeing this part of yourself. It’s challenging to become aware of these sides, but it’s essential to shift them when they are not serving you.

This Eclipse is also in opposition to Mercury’s Retrograde in Taurus. Retrogrades are unpredictable on their own. It’s often seen as a time when things slow down, so take this as a sign to remember to be still with all of the things that come up during this Eclipse. Retrogrades often allow the past to resurface to be re-evaluated. This ties in with healing from old wounds and letting things go.

There might be a lingering feeling with this Eclipse that lasts a few days. Just because something doesn’t happen the moment of the Eclipse, doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. Things will reveal themselves in time.

Pay close attention to your feelings, intuition and signs. Embrace emotional release.

Some say not to do typical Full Moon rituals during an Eclipse, but trust yourself.

Allow yourself to sit still and feel your emotions. You might cry, laugh, journal or experience a roller coaster of emotions. But feeling them is the way through. As your feelings start to arise, let them run through you. Journal to learn more about them. Ask yourself what you’re feeling and what this feeling helps you to understand about yourself. Notice your reactions and triggers. The Eclipse can show you something that’s essential to your evolution. Give yourself time to process whatever arises. Don’t make hasty decisions. Allow your transformation to unfold naturally. Be kind to yourself and know you are where you need to be right now.

The key to working with any Scorpio energy is the willingness to feel. Slow down, look inward, and hold space for energy to rise from the subconscious. This intense energy will give the power to transform anything you need to in your life right now. It won’t always feel good in the moment, but it will ultimately open the door for your full potential.

This is a potent time for shadow work. It starts with the willingness to look below the surface of your conscious mind and become aware of who you are. Shadow work helps us understand how we limit ourselves with fear and insecurity. All of our unprocessed emotions and deeper wounds are stored in the shadows. When we begin to understand our shadows, we can understand how to act on our shadows and bring light into unconscious patterns.

Make time to rest. Get extra sleep. Give yourself time to integrate the changes that are happening internally and externally. Take a warm bath or shower on Eclipse day to help cleanse.
