Tonight had finished with fast 4 mile run (cooler than being in the shop all day actually), a long shower, a good dinner + now I’m ready for a cosy time in Norfolk with my boy, even if there will have to be a day of Swedish-English banter... . . . I’ve got the perfect person for cosy time. My maker No.7 is @rosebbrown_knitwear. Even though it’s sweaty hot outside, you still want nice knitwear to cuddle down in should the temperature drop a bit or you just need some familiarity. Rose’s knits are designed rather minimally, just the subtlest colour combinations and understated linear graphics, wearable for life - investment pieces that you’ll want to keep wearing. Made in North West England but knitted from Scottish spun and dyed soft lambswool, her designs are testament to how it’s possible to produce in the U.K - though with a lot of hard work! . . . Rose has donated one of my favourite pieces. This is a soft asymmetric jumper with block grey marl colour accents. Anyone can wear this! I want to wear it. You learn something new everyday- The shuttles in the lace looms that carry the polyester yarn are different thicknesses, depending on the loom. The 14pt quality (14 vertical threads per inch) shuttle is much thinner than the 8pt quality (8 vertical threads per inch) shuttle. You can see here the difference in thicknesses. There are roughly 5050 shuttles in the 14point loom and 3456 in the 8point loom.
