Another unedited preview of Happy Times at Handeemen HQ, episode one. This ones looking like it’s gonna be at least a two parter, so I’m getting everything written out before I edit.
SO far, it didn't seem the Puppet was doing anything sinister. Mostly she was just "pacing" back and forth behind her counter, setting out ingredients for whatever she would be baking on the segment. Most likely it would be pie, but from what Stacy knew she did occasionally make cake, and at one point she made donuts. She was also humming the theme song as she worked, which made her seem just a little bit more... human. At the very least, it gave Stacy enough courage to actually approach, making sur eto make a bit of noise as she did so.
"Oh!" She jumped as the girl kicked a pen someone had left on the floor, turning to face her. "Well hey there Stacy! I didn't expect to see you here yet."
"Uh, Lydia said that you, y'know, might need help getting set up before all the kids showed up." She couldn't quite keep her voice from hsaking, and prayed that it wasn't too obvious. Luckily, the southern bell didn't seem to notice.
"Well shoot, I sure could. SOme of these assistants just put my things far too high on the shelves." SHe pulled a pad of paper and pen from her apron and scribbled out a quick list. "If you could just get me these out of the storage closet, I'd be ever so grateful." She handed over the list,, which Stacy took with some hesitation. "The closet is right over there, sugar. Shouldn't be too hard to find it."
"Yeah." She said, but Daisy had already moved on, dissapearing from sight as she ducked under the counter. It left the girl feeling very much like character from a videogame.  Still, she shook it off and went over to the closet, finding it easily as it said Kitchen Storage on the door.
Entering with only a brief hesitation, she found the entire small room completely unorganized. "Jesus Christ! Did a huricane come in through here?!" She glanced between the list and the mess piled around her with a heavy sigh. "This is gonna take forever..."
"Stacy!" Came a cry from above, followed by something soft landing on her head. The girl gave a muffled scream as the Hand Puppet from before slid off her head onto a box in front of her.
"Scout!" She struggled to keep her voice low. "What the hell?!"
"Are you getting stuff for Mom?" The Puppet asked, "hopping" from the box she was on to a lower one.
'... Mom?' Stacy's mind went blank for a moment, trying to figure out the logistics. "Uh..."
"Cause I know where everything is in here." She climbed up onto a set of boxes set up like stairs, ending up at almost eye level with the teen. "Sometimes Bonzai likes to hide stuff, but I always know how to find it. JUst tell me what you need!"
"Uh, okay!" Stacy perked up, looking over the list. "Okay.. First thing she needs is a hand mixer."
"OVer there!" Scout pointed to a shelf and right there, under a box, was the mixer that was needed. Stacy picked it up.
"She also needs some measruing spoons, and some sort of special rolling pin, I think." Stacy scratched her head, but Scout nodded.
"I know what you mean! The bowls are in here, and the rolling pin is way up there." Stacy could feel her hopes shatter once again as she looked up at the tall shelf the Puppet pointed to. "BUt don't worry, I can get it for you. YOu go get the bowls!"
"But-" Stacy looked back, only to find Scout had vanished. "Okay, then." She instead picked up the box with the spoons and put the mixer in it.
"Look out!" Stacy caught the falling objects in the box as well, said objects being Scout and the rolling pin. "Awesome catch! Totally saved my life there." She climbed out of the box, and the girl watched in concern as she dropped to the floor.
"Uh, don't you want to, i dunno, come with?" Stacy asked as the Puppet cralwed away behind some boxes.
"Nah, I got stuff to do. I'll see you later, though!" Stacy looked behind the box, but couldn't see the Puppet despite there being nowhere she could go.

SCOUT IS OUT ! The Volume 2 Launch Party Low Down
Tumblr media
SCOUT IS OUT in Huntsville! We celebrated the launch of our 2nd volume at The Ledges in true Scout fashion. Keep reading to see the highlights, decor, food, entertainment and all of the pretty guests who made this volume’s party so special...
Tumblr media
First off, you should know the team of ladies behind The Scout Guide Huntsville. (I am going to call this our Scout Guide Huntsville dream team shot!) Somehow we managed to all stand still for five minutes just before the party got started to snap this photo. Left to right: Nicole Thompson of B. Nicole Photography, our TSG Social Event Photographer; Sabrina Simōn, our Social Media Coordinator; Dawn Pumpelly, the Editor and Owner of The Scout Guide Huntsville, Charlotte Wessel of Buckets and Blooms and TSG’s Creative Consultant, and Ashley Vaughn of White Rabbit Studios and the TSG Photographer. We could not be more proud to share with you all that Scout Guide Huntsville Vol. 2 has to offer!
The Party Venue
You couldn't ask for a more picturesque setting atop the highest point in Huntsville. Renowned for it’s views, catering, golfing, attention to detail and fantastic service, The Ledges is one of Huntsville’s finest destinations–especially for a special event!
Tumblr media
These lovely young ladies from Jill’s School of Dance greeted all the guests and handed them the brand new volume of The Scout Guide Huntsville!
Launch Party Styling
And then there were the stunning flower arrangements–oh my goodness! Charlotte Wessel, our Scout Guide Huntsville Creative Consultant and owner of Buckets and Blooms, sourced the most gorgeous local flowers from 1818 Farms, Brosemer Family Farm, Field and Forage, and Collinette Flower Farm. She filled the Ledges’ entryway with a stunning five-foot showstopper and covered every table with unique arrangements and stacks of Scout Guides. Finally, as the party spilled into the final room, Charlotte’s pièce de résistance was the ombré baby’s breath arch that was the perfect spot for a photo for two happy party-goers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gina of Gina’s Balloons crafted the amazing organic balloon arch featured in many of the party photos and this welcoming organic balloon topiary that greeted all of our guests.
Tumblr media
We were also proud to display the custom watercolor created by Caroline Holcomb for our party invitations that she and her sisters Keller Wilson and Niki Hopkins created for us through their company called life as paper. (Keller, Niki and Caroline pictured left to right below)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Entertainment
The lovely local Huntsville talent, Victoria Jones added her voice to the air for all to hear during the party.
Tumblr media
The Food
Oh my, the food was unique, so tasty and plentiful. Chef Phillip and his Ledges team created and modern spin on our launch party hors d'oeuvres. SO-WELL-DONE!  These spicy shrimp  appetizers were amazing and were our favorite!
Tumblr media
Strawberry Shortcakes and Key Lime tarts were out in sweet force.
Tumblr media
Angela and Molly of Good Company Cafe created custom TSG logo cookies in pink just for us!
Tumblr media
I know what you are thinking. And the answer is YES, they did taste just as good as they look!!
Tumblr media
Ashley, Dawn and Sabrina all want to go back to sipping The Ledges’ Rosé Spritzer (Recipe here!) that they created just for the Vol. 2 launch!
Tumblr media
Bonus! Personalized Vol. 2′s
Christina Green of The Cardinal Collective personalized copies of our new Vol. 2 for all the guests in stunning gold calligraphy! It was simply splendid and everyone loved her gorgeous work so much.
Tumblr media
The Members and Guests
And then there were so many special, all out amazing, talented members of TSG Vol. 2 that joined us for the launch party. You could literally feel the local love in the crowd as you chatted with folks.

The Scout Guide Huntsville Vol. 2 Launch Party was quite simply an outstanding, elegant, and beautiful affair–filled with so much love of community, local business, and artistic talents. Outpourings of such good cheer like this don’t happen very often and we can definitely say we are so glad to be here and very much a part of Huntsville! Cheers! And LIVE. LOVE. LOCAL.
