Today, by 10am prompt, I shall have the honour of joining other great speakers at the 2017 edition of the largest Independence Day event around - My Dream Nigeria 3.0. This programme promises to inspire a new generation of Nigerians who will become solution providers to both local and global problems. While sharing the panel with incredible personalities from various fields and passions, I shall be speaking on the roles that #Education can and must play in delivering the great future that we so desire for Nigeria, under the sub-theme "Education Reforms". Some hours ago, I was at Akungba Akoko, Ondo State. Now, I am in Victoria Island, Lagos State for the HIVE Africa Global Leaders Program. It's Wednesday evening it appears as though the week is just getting started. After travelling 7hours, I am now at Maison Fahrenheit for the #HiveAfricaGLP Opening Dinner. Arriving about 45minutes early than expected, I got me some glasses of Apfelsaft and Erdnuss. Lol 😂... Well let us just say it is a cocktail before the dinner. I feel so honoured to be representing the Ambassadors of Africa @AOAfricaOrg at this awesome event. Thank you all so much for believing in me and for supporting my participation at HIVE. This is the team in whom I am well pleased... The Adekunle Ajasin University team (#TeamAAUA) of the Ambassadors of Africa (@AOAfrica1) recently organized a Speech Contest amongst secondary school students in the Akoko area of Ondo State, Nigeria. As an offshoot of the organization's A-Students Project, it turned out to be a revealing, engaging and highly inspiring event. The students delivered their well prepared speeches on the topic "Education as a tool for National Development". After the event, it became a proven fact that for sustainable development to happen in the world #QualityEducation must be the key and everyone; every nation must play its part in making this happen. Education must be made available and accessible to people of every age, gender, background and social status. Over the years, we have visited these schools to train the students on academic excellence, career development, leadership, team work, and so on. Through this project, we have positively impacted the lives of over 22,500 students in about 5 countries and now, we are excited to do more. The speech contest reassured us that we are doing the right thing and that when we work together to inspire the next generation, we can indeed make the world a better place. So today, I am happy to share my excitement about the success of this project with you all. In this post, I am revealing the team of proactive young leaders, students who have stepped out of their comfort zones to make extraordinary things happen. Here it is, the Sights and Sounds of the A-Students Speech Contest... So, the main idea of the Speech Contest was to provide a platform for secondary school students to air their views about the state of the nation as well as the unique role that education plays in global transformation. The Adekunle Ajasin University team of the Ambassadors of Africa (@AOAfrica1) therefore brought together students from various secondary schools in the Akoko area of Ondo State, Nigeria to speak on the topic "Education: a veritable tool for National Development". The event, which turned out to be an incredibly inspiring one, proved the fact that #Education is indeed the key to Sustainable Development. At the end of the contest, the winners were: First position - Community High School, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria Second Position - Greater Tomorrow College, Arigidi-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria Third Position - Mount Camel Girls Grammar School, Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria "Project A-Students" is one of our cardinal projects which aims at "...raising excellent students, a student at a time" and through this project, we have positively impacted over 22,500 students in several African communities. While this project is seeks to inspire the next generation of world leaders, we have strategically focused on helping young people in rural communities reach their fullest potentials. The success stories of this project over the years and the passion with which these students delivered their speeches has inspired to do more. Because, after all, the world needs us; our generation needs us and posterity awaits. While I, today celebrate this team of vibrant, dutiful, proactive, and highly resourceful young leaders, I urge you to join hands with us as we make #QualityEducation available and accessible to people of every age, gender, background and social status.
