Hows River and.. whatever the other kids name is?
River is perfect, as always.
Jordan is currently on my shit list, he asked a few too many questions and now Gerald is asking questions.
Trent and Seaton continue to torment little River, but that’s why they’re not my favorites.

is linda in ictd? if yes can i ask abt her 🥹 sorry im. Insane abt her teehee
ehehehe hi zazz hell yes she is. i am so sorry in advance. spoiler alert she dies. im sorry
lindas a... popular face, in hatchetfield. if you don't know linda, you know of linda. and if you dont know of linda, you're lying. she's one of the loudest voices beside solomon lauter, and often argues against him to force the towns views in favor of her.
shes queer. ofc she is. the barnroe fic i wrote for you? canon to ictd. her and gerald have been happily married for.. 15 years, give or take a few, and for 7 of those they've been with gary and becky respectively. as far as they care, all four boys are gerald and garys kids. they dont give a shit who's really related to which kid.
steph's the one to kill her. she doesnt mean to, actually, she doesn't even mean to run into linda that day at all. but she does, and she kills and eats linda in broad daylight, and its the worst thing to happen to the little family the eight of them had built up until now.
post death, linda doesnt do much. i'm sure she'll meet max and ruth and richie, and she might get a moment to speak through a prophet, but otherwise she. shes dead.
gerald, however, has a rough ass time. he takes two full months of grief leave, and ends up having to completely quit working after another month. depression hits him like a fucking train. becky and gary move in and step up to help with the boys, but it only does so much.
to talk about the boys would be a post of its own, so maybe later for them.
linda's a level four pre death. shes off the chart post death, as shes. dead. she's inhuman, but left mainly untouched. she's one of wigglys favorites.
she'll get something else eventually. i want her to have some sort of relationship to solomon, and i want her to grieve for eliza tessburger and grow close with brooke in the process, but im not sure how yet lol

Rating Corey Dorris....
Rating Corey Dorris characters by how much I want to punt them out a third story window. I will only be doing characters who are real in Hatchtverse canon so Mr Humbugger and Stu are out. I will however be doing one time/unnamed characters on the same point unless they are markedly different, but not giving them as much attention wither way compared to his more principal characters so they will be easy to skip over.
Bill Woodward; 1/10. I don't hate him and honestly It would feel like kicking a puppy but the way he was talking to Alice about her wanting to write scripts just makes my creative writing student brain so "grr".
Citizen 1: 0/10This is the background character in La Dee Dah Da day, he exists to die so to spite the narrative I will let him live.
Citizen 2: 1/10 This is the guy from Cup of poisoned coffee. I know nothing about the guy but he's implied to work in business so
Peip Agent: 9/10 Background character but glorified cop. he's only losing one point because the enemies he's fighting are an actual threat.
Frank Pricley: 5/10, he's a great character, a bitch but he's really funny to watch. I like the depth they gave him in Daddy. He's kinda classist and he's a capitalist but I love his passion when left to his own devices and willingness to take money from the rich. he's still really mean to my girl Lex, she's just trying to do the best she can for her little sister you dick.
office guy: 8/10, called security on a random homeless dude, what are you a narc?. 2 points off for my birth year mentioned.
Tree person 2 +voice 1+villager 2: 2/10, all from Witch in the Web. don't do much story wise but I love two of them. Both points are four villager 2
Seaton Monroe: 6/10, Not from high up though, just to teach a lesson.
Man in chair: 7/10 crabby, I like his energy
Solomon Lauter: 9/10, His ass sent his daughter to an abstinence camp. He also puts down Stephanie which is pretty fucked up. send that man out a window and he can take Miss Tessburger with him. Also, putting the fate of the entire town on a teenager you spent your first two major scenes calling stupid is a dumb idea and you were only right because she has more street smarts than you gave her credit for and Grace was willing to get freaky.
Counsellor 2: 8/10. abstinence is not healthy, if you feel the need to do it be safe and get consent.
Russ: 0/10, what is it with star kid and making Corey Dorris a dad?. best dad he's played tho
Yellows jackets crowd: 10/10, you like watching magic kids fight
Cop;10/10, He's a cop
Jason Jepson: 8/10, I respect you for the last parts of the musical but I won't forget you standing by.
Pokey: 3/10, I lobe his vibe but I', curious how it would go

Okay I might as well post this bc I know I ain't gonna write this as a fic anytime soon cause I'm lazy but anyway I've been thinking about a Hatchetfield swap au. More below cut
Here's whose swapped with who, if there's an arrow in between them (ex: A - B) then those characters both swapped with each other. If there's an equal sign between them (ex: A = B) then the person on the left is becoming/taking the role of the person on the right (ie A = B means A takes the role of B, but B does not also take the role of A) hopefully that makes sense.
*note. I'll mention on several of them that they're aged up or down, but that doesn't necessarily mean that characters that I didn't mention an age change on don't change ages, it's just I forgot to mention it on them or it isn't a huge difference/doesn't really change anything, just assume age changed if it makes more sense
Paul - Emma
Bill - Tom
Alice - Tim (Alice is not aged down & Tim is aged up)
Sylvia - Becky
Jane - Bill's Ex Wife (Except Jane doesn't cheat on Tom they just fall out of love and get divorced)

PJ = Richie
Reese = Ruth
Bob Metzger = Charlotte
Louie Metzger = Sam
(sorta, ofc Bob & Louie aren't in a relationship, that'd be fucking werid, Louie's just in the HFPD & infects Bob, their situation turns into a "my sons never talk to me :(" thing)
Carl & Lars = other HFPD cops
Roman = Hidgens
Trevor (Jon's theatre kid in the bbq monologues bit) = Deb (but also is still there and is himself in NPMD also Tim & him aren't dating, just best friends)
Ted = Lex (aged down to be late 20s in 2018-2020)
Peter = Hannah (aged down to be the 15 in 2020)

Brooke - Hatchetfield Bee
Lex = Zoey
Zoey = Linda
Sam = Gerald (Sam's still a police officer, just takes on the general role of Gerald in the stories)
Mimaw = Roman
Zach = River
Hailey = Other Monroe boys
(also just to be clear no Zach & Hailey are not Zoey & Sam's kids, Zach & Zoey are still siblings and Hailey is friend of theirs, Zach gets kidnapped and Hailey's a bitch to him)
Ethan = Sam (Ethan's still a mechanic not a cop, just takes on the general role of Sam in Honey Queen spefically)
Hannah = Zach
(except Lex, Ethan & Hannah are all closer than Zoey, Sam & Zach, also Lex & Ethan aren't cheating on each other)
Pamela = Mimaw
Shelia = Bob Metzger
Peanuts - Ezekiel
Squirrels - Nighthawks
Deb = Ziggs (Alice & Deb are still dating)

HOLLYWOOD WITHOUT MAKE-UP
1963
Tumblr media
Produced by Ken Murray
Music by George Stoll
Written by Royal Foster
Tumblr media
Ken Murray (Himself, Host) is billed as “the man who makes movies of the people who make movies.” He was born Kenneth Abner Doncourt in 1903 to vaudevillian parents. Murray got his start in show business on the stage in 1920s as a stand-up comedian. He performed his comedy act on the vaudeville circuit. He found success as a stage performer after appearing in Earl Carroll's Vanities on Broadway in 1935. In the 1940s, Murray became famous for his Blackouts, a racy, stage variety show at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. The Blackouts played to standing-room-only audiences for 3,844 performances, ending in 1949. Later that year, the show moved to Broadway and closed after six weeks. He made his film debut in the 1929 romantic drama Half Marriage, followed by a role in Leathernecking in 1930. He was also the host of “The Ken Murray Show,” a weekly music and comedy show on CBS Television that ran from 1950 to 1953. The show was the first to win a Freedom Foundation Award. Over the course of his career, Murray filmed Hollywood celebrities using his 16mm home movie camera. He began filming the footage to send back home to his grandparents in lieu of writing letters. His grandmother saved the footage, which Murray later used in compilation films like Hollywood Without Make-Up. He died in 1988 at age 85.

The show is also available on DVD from Sprocket Flicks  It has been aired on TV on Turner Classic Movies.
Tumblr media
In 1963, when this documentary was released, Lucille Ball was starting her second season of “The Lucy Show” on CBS TV.
Tumblr media
In June 1950, one year before “I Love Lucy” premiered, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz were guests on “The Ken Murray Show” on CBS TV. Tap dancer Bunny Briggs and 'Little Rascal' Darla Hood were also guests.
Tumblr media
In 1966, Lucy and Murray were both guests on “Bob Hope's Leading Ladies.” Murray played a television executive named Harvey Sarnoff.  Lucy played herself.  Sort of.
Tumblr media
Lucy returned to Sun Valley to film an episode of “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour,” using the same locations scene in this documentary.
Tumblr media
Twenty minutes into the documentary, the location turns to Sun Valley, Idaho, where Hollywood stars went for winter sports. June Allyson, Errol Flynn, Martha O'Driscoll, Johnny Weissmuller, Wayne Morris, and Reggie Gardiner have a snowball fight while making a snowman.
Tumblr media
Lounging at the Lodge are Rory Calhoun (center) and Lucille Ball. Sun Valley was one of the Arnaz's favorite vacation spots, accessible by train from Hollywood. Desilu would film “Lucy Goes To Sun Valley” (1958) there. Lucy's good friend Ann Sothern also loved Sun Valley, and is buried nearby.
Tumblr media
Murray says that this is not the only home movies of Lucille Ball that he has. First is a quick clip of Lucy at Chatsworth Ranch with one of her cherished dogs. Lucy and Desi had three dogs at the time.
Tumblr media
This leads to footage of Lucille Ball filming Fancy Pants in 1950 with director George Marshall and co-star Bob Hope. Murray also mentions that Lucy has done quite a few pictures with Hope, including Critic's Choice, which was released in 1963, the same year as this documentary. In 1969, when Lucy wanted to film episodes of “Here's Lucy” on location, including on the Colorado River, she hired Marshall, remembering his expertise with location filming in rough terrain.
Tumblr media
Ball also poses with Marshall and her Fancy Pants stunt double, Polly Burson, although Murray does not specifically mention her name.
Tumblr media
Ball is shown doing a stunt where she falls onto a break-away table, not once...
Tumblr media
 not twice...
Tumblr media
but three times!
Murray: “Someone once said that Lucille Ball stands alone as the greatest comedienne of our time.  That goes for sitting down, too!”
Tumblr media
Lucy Without Make-Up: Literally!
Tumblr media
A movie star, Lucille Ball was rarely scene without full make-up, but when a scene demanded she take a blast of water to the face, she removed her false eyelashes, as she did here in “Never Do Business With Friends” (ILL S2;E31) in 1953.

back for more I curse the day....Gary perhaps?
oh hell yeah
so... gary's gay. we should talk about that first. it's most of his character, after all.
he's geralds main affair partner/actual romantic interest. before linda dies, he sneaks around with gerald at work or late at night in clubs, hidden from anyone outside of their family. their shockingly large, incredibly close little family. (them, the four boys, linda and becky)
after lindas death, he becomes the family breadwinner. he works himself to the bone while gerald and becky mourn and focus on the kids, and finds himself favoring seaton, out of all four boys. he takes the boy with him to work some days, and seaton takes in information like a sponge. they use eachother as crutches for their grief around linda.
following lindas death, he also finds himself branching out to more and more clients, not just the rich ones. he works closer with the lower middle class like becky, focusing on how to fix their issues instead of his rich friends, who often go to court for fun.
gary will forever feel a level of guilt. he feels like he's taking a recently widowed gerald away from his now-dead wife, even if that wife never loved him. he finds solace in work and the kids, and works hard to keep the family stable.
