Just watched Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio on Netflix and Sebastian was definitely my favorite character, though he did remind me of another certain blue anthro bug that has traveled a lot in his life time...

If I had a nickel for each of my most recent favorites, who is an artificial sunshine boy with an animal sidekick/guardian, just wants to be loved and have the freedom to choose their own way in life, keeps going through hardships mainly because of some bad father figures who try to control them, has a complicated relationship with death, etc I'd have 3 nickels

When it’s revealed that Cricket is dead and Pinocchio keeps inside a little matchbox in his heart????

I want to underline a little detail I saw in gdt's Pinocchio and it's sebastian's house

He (at least in the Italian dub, I will soon watch it in English, and btw the italian dub is majestic) he often says things like "it's a sofference" or similar phrases (Especially whe he is hit by something). It doesn't surprise me that one of the photographs in his house it's Schopenhauer, the philosopher of the sufferance

Then of Course over the bed there's Manzoni, THE modern italian author of excellence when we talk about novels (never heard Promessi Sposi?)
