I've watched season 1-3 of winx in less than 4 days, and I'm so glad I grew up on that instead of cocomelon. Even when the script seemed cringe and not as fleshed out as it could be, they never made the people watching the show seem stupid (they made Bloom seem stupid instead, lol (half-joke)). The dialogue could be simplefied and sometimes a bit naive, but at the same time they never made it feel very simple? Maybe I'm just blinded bc I'm a sucker for illustrated animations, but the fact that they could make a complicated storyline with a lot of character arcs, while keeping the dialogue simple enough for kids to follow, is just amazing. And as if that wasn't amazing enough, the show had good balance in the art - it was colourful, the characters were dynamic and unique with different siluettes (something i rarely see in kids shows today), while also appealing to the preteen audience: the winx girls are strong, stylish, girly girls, who can seek out love from men without needing them to save them. They show that you can be unique in your friend group, and you can still be loved and appreciated (thinking about Musa, Techna and later on Aisha/Layla, who all aren't the stereotypical sweet/soft/stylish girls, but who still find friends who love them for who they are). (More analysis beneath the read more thing - mainly a discussion on how family is represented in the show and how important it is for children to be able to look up to female figures that can represent them. + some other stuff.)

Winx also casts light on a lot of different family dynamics - something i've only really seen Bluey do well recently. Stella's parents are divorced, Bloom is adopted, Musa's relationship with her dad is strained ever since her mom died, Aisha/Layla is an only child who struggled with lonliness despite having both of her parents together (they were absent bc of their royal duties), Techna doesnt seem to have any mayor issues, nor does Flora. And the thing is - these struggles are shown in such natural ways in the show. All of these dynamics turn out to be part of their journeys - Bloom struggles as a fairy because of her unknown past, so she must resolve it and find out more to be able to become a fully fledged fairy. Stella has dealt with her divorced parents most of her life, but in season 3 the entire Valtor thing strains her relationship with her father, and she has to overcome it so she can save him from Cassandra or whatever that duchess was called (girlie practically gets banned from her home planet, don't you forget). Faragonda brings Musa's dad to her first concert, which once again strains their relationship, but then strengthens it when he sees how capable she is, both as a musician and as a fairy. Aisha/Layla displays how it is to have more traditional parents - as a child she had lots of expectations to be a proper princess, which she for a long time still had trauma from, plus that her parents wanted to pick her future husband for her (they were all lucky that the two of them matched well lol). And then we have Flora who showed off sisterhood in an amazing way - worrying over and scolding her little sister, but never doubting for a second that she'd risk her life to save her. To the point though - everyone faces difficulties that can be reflected in most people's lives, and the show makes these journeys meaningful and important. I personally never had a need to see myself represented in my family situation, but my friend had divorced parents, and she told me that Stella's viewpoint made it easier for little her to deal with it. If Stella could overcome it (reminder that she still allowed herself to feel sad about it) then so could my friend.

Now, while I'm at it, I might as well continue ranting:

Maybe I'm just not updated in modern shows, but isn't there an entire market of preteens who are missing these types of shows today? We're always talking about how clothing trends and social media is forcing younger people to grow up eariler, but let's not forget that these kids have nothing if they don't decide to grow up immediately. There's no shows, no "toys" (i'm mostly talking about merch that caters to young people - "H2O just add water" pillowcases and diaries etc) and no older teens in these shows setting appropriate clothing trends. Shows aren't cool enough nowadays for preteens to see the appeal of being young. Too many shows are changing their target audience to younger and younger children - and not only shows! Just look at the Nesquik bunny! He went from 100% drip and style, to 100% millenial.

Ik this isn't anyone in particulars fault, but this is just my way of saying: go back to unique styles and outfits! Shows aren't cool anymore, and removing the illustrated style and exaggeration is absolutely part of that.

I also saw someone on TikTok critique the pace of the earlier seasons - they said everything was too slow-paced and boring, and honestly? I couldn't disagree more. Now, I don't have any difficulties concentrating, so maybe it's a bigger problem for people with ADHD or similar diagnosis, but the slower pace gave more time for me to immerse myself in the winx world. They added amazing vocals and soundtrack, that could either showcase heartbreak or joy, and these details made the show reach much higher quality, despite looking like it was made in the cheapest animation program ever.

I went off on a tangent, but I'm getting back to winx now - what I mean is that kids nowadays have no authentic way of finding shows like winx, mainly because there aren't any! Most shows are made for kids under the age of 8 or over the age of 13, and there's almost no inbetween. Shows don't do it like winx did anymore - they don't make the art appealing enough (bc the shows are never illustrated - fair enough i'll add, bc illustrated animation is too expensive to be profitable nowadays, but not even the animation is appealing anymore, they're all rapunzel-lookalikes/wannabes), they don't trust that the watchers have brains and critical thinking, so they make the stories too dumb, they don't have the guts to make scary storylines, and they try so hard to be inclusive without actually succeeding at it (making all the fairies even paler than what they were in the beginning of the show).

I'm sure everything I've said here has been said before a trillion times, but I wanted to get it off my chest. I won't blame anyone if they decide that they ain't reading allat bc i really ran with this. If u did read this though, thanks! And sorry if i spelled things wrong, I'm writing this on a Swedish computer that insists that every single word is spelled incorrectly, lol.

Do y'all remember Aromatix? I didn't until someone favorited the og piece from 2019 on dA! and that was enough for me to want to revisit it but on the AU bases this time - and also add Roxy, Dia and Daphne to the mix! There's not much to this form - I structured it to be like the comic forms, so it's more gimmicky than anything else, see also: the same wings for everyone. Aromatix is the form of scents, and so they're all based after that! more below: (big thanks to both @emsartwork and @lunar-draws, which helped me brainstorm the three newcomers to this form!)

Bloom keeps her og scent of dragon's blood, the sap from the dragon tree that looks like blood when cut. It gives off a sweet but strong smell, and I felt that fit Bloom pretty well beyond the dragon associations.

Originally just generic spring, Flora has now the more specific cherry blossom scent, mainly because I wanted to work with pastels and plus they do fit Flora's vibe.

Tecna keeps coffee as her scent, because look at me in the eyes and tell me she does not run exclusively on the substance.

Stella also kept her citrus scent, because citrus, much like her, can go wildly between charming and pleasant to downright annoying lol.

Musa also keeps her berries, still mainly focused on blue and black berries, if only because fruitier scents just seem to fit her!

Originally mint, Aisha now has sea salt as her smell! It carries the same feeling of refreshing and invigorating, plus she's water, so it seemed fitting.

Diaspro comes in with the scent of honey rock candy! discussing it with Ems and Lunar helped narrow this down since both sugar and honey tend to crystallize, fitting her powers, plus I can see Dia going for sweet and strong smells on the regular to assert her dominance lol.

Fellow newcomer Daphne takes Aisha's original mint, for similar reasons as her but also because mint is also associated with nymphs and I felt it fitting lol.

Lastly, Roxy comes in with a pistachio scent! because nuts in general seemed fitting for her and because it adds a different tone compared to the rest.

Winx Club LGBTQ+ Headcanons for Pride 2024

Hello! I would like to share my LGBTQ+ headcanons for the Winx since it's Pride. I'm also gonna elaborate on why I headcanon their sexualities and genders:

•Bloom - She is DEFINITELY a shy bisexual girl. I like to think that she and Selina (her former childhood best friend and one of the ((pointless)) antagonists in season 6) had dated at one point but they broke up due to Selina avoiding Bloom.

•Stella - I see her as bisexual but has a preference for men but still occasionally flirts with girls time to time. Like she comes off as straight because she likes men more, but that doesn’t mean she doesn't like women in an attractive way.

•Flora - I don't what it is, but for some reason I get trans vibes from Flora, I just do. Like, when she was a boy she would wear dresses and makeup and she would be picked on by other kids because of it. And I think when she came out, her parents, Alyssa and Rollos, were like, "We know." in the most chill way possible. Basically they're supportive and love their daughter and will correct ANYONE for using the wrongs pronouns for Flora. Helia and Miele would be the exact same way.

•Musa - A bisexual icon (or bicon lol) who goes by she/they pronouns. I feel like she mostly goes by she/her pronouns but on certain days feels like going by they/them. Kind of like me.

•Tecna - She's definitely somewhere on the ace spectrum, ace, demi, somewhere around there. I feel like she's most likely demi because in first episode of season 2, there was an indication of Tecna and Timmy… doing the "devil's tango" and they try to hide it but Stella doesn't by it but she plays along for their sakes.

•Aisha - She's definitely pansexual, no questions asked. I feel like Musa and Aisha could've been a thing had they not given them love interests (aka Riven and Nabu). They even danced together at one point during the season 2 finale, like come on!

•Roxy - I know Roxy isn't technically part of the club (YET because the reboot will have her part of the Winx), but she is in my heart so she's on the damn list. Anyway, she is DEFINITELY a lesbian. I know that the comics gave a boyfriend but those aren't technically canon so… With that hair and her cinnamroll yet rebellious attitude, DEFINITELY a lesbian.

And yeah, those are my LGBTQ+ headcanons for each of the Winx this Pride. If you have any headcanons for each of the girls, please let me know, I would love to hear your thoughts. I'll probably do one for the Specialists and/or the Trix if I get to it before this Pride ends. If not this Pride then probably next Pride but I can't promise that I'll remember to do that.

I'm ngl between all the winx, I always thought Aisha would be like... more lean than muscled. It's been a while since I've actively watched winx, but her body being more built for flexibility just felt right to me- maybe because she's essentially the fairy of water??? Go with the flow, curve it all around kinda vibe you know.

.......now if anyone in the Winx is buff, it would be Flora and Bloom- Flora because I have seen gardeners and farmers in my lifetime, and their biceps were enough to make me go hoowee mama and Bloom because she hates exercise but she wants to punch her enemies in the face hard enough to permanently damage their nose (Icy).

Musa... idk, she can go either way tbh- buff, stick, lean? She's just vibing. I can't ever imagine Tecna being buff, because... well. On the other hand, her being buff doesn't feel too off to me either. Also Stella has been stuck on the idea of being attractive for years, she'll either be unhealthily thin or happily fat to me- it's the uh. ED projection.

Also ik you were pointing out the obv racism w the fandoms treatment of Aisha, making her the more buff and aggressive girl out of the winx (when uhm. I'm ngl she is Not, pls let's not forget s1-3 Bloom who had no understanding of chill, and Stella who is usually in control of herself but would beat a mf after enough transgressions), but I just wanted to give a brief thought into my own personal thoughts on which of the winx would be buff.

Tbh I don't really see any of the winx being 'buff,' although I do think Bloom being pretty strong makes sense. She just has strong vibes. A couple people have mentioned buff Flora to me, but I think where I differ is that I see Flora as like... a botanist, y'know? Not a farmer/landscaper. That said, I think life on Linphea would probably still be pretty physically active, so she's not unfit either

Musa I can absolutely only imagine as a stick with boobs. I like to imagine her gaining a bit of weight as she gets healthier and gets used to having better access to food, but I genuinely find it hard to picture because she just. Has stick vibes for some reason

I have unpopular opinions on Tecna. Being from an icy planet, it makes NO sense for her to be skinny, and I hc her being into martial arts (Tecna loves punching and smashing, talk to the wall), so I draw her body very similar to mine- someone who retains both muscle and fat readily, so she's very dense and thickly built despite eating and working out fairly little

I think I've talked about this before, but for me an absolutely non-negotiable, fundamental aspect of Stella's character is that her self-esteem is genuine. That she really does love how she looks, that it's the only thing she's not insecure about. It's a HUGE part of what makes her so unique and interesting, so having her worry about her weight? Having her vanity be portrayed as self-destructive instead of self-loving? It's uh. Not my cup of tea

Happily fat Stella is the enlightened man's headcanon (despite the fact that I personally draw her as thin lol)

Stella is the fairy of the Sun and Moon. Two very different and disparate things, which has happened before but it's incredibly rare. It's like seeing a animal scientists only think exist because they have one picture of it. Like yeah, it's real, but what the fuck

And in my hc Tecna is the first fairy of Tecnomagic, as Tecnomagic is a man (Humanoid?? Person???) made magic. Fairy's are really only supposed to be the faires of stuff that's naturally occurring. This is very conserning and everyone is side eyeing her parents. Zenith has been covered in Tecnomagic for a long time now, what the fuck did you two do?? It's like finding a man made element in nature. That's not supposed to happen

Aisha could be the fairy of whatever the water stars of made of (other dragon's water???) so she can be Bloom's equal and opposite. The people of Andros evolved twice after exiting the infinite ocean. One half became mermaids, staying cold blooded and being fish like, and the other half became the people of Andros became the land dwellers we know, being warm blooded and being more like seals

But I think it would be really funny if Faragona saw all these weird kids with magic that really shouldn't be and said "fuck it, sticking them all in the same form so their only eachother's problem". Well in reality it would probably because they would feel less strange if their surrounded by other strange faries but the other idea is funnier

Stella hypes Bloom up, helps her work through her insecurities, her doubts. She values her input and lets her know that. She would take a hit for her no questions asked.

Bloom would do the same. They’d go to war for each other, no hesitation.

Bloom calls Stella on her shit, knows how to see through her false confidence and bravado when it flares up, trusts her with everything she has, knows she can count on her for anything.

They’re just so devoted it makes me 🥺

Stella knows how to handle Bloom’s temper, knows how to help her talk it out with her and figure out what’s bugging her or articulate what’s ailing her (Stella always has been better with words, she does love to talk after all). Bloom knows when to call Stella on a tantrum, whether it’s worth all the energy Stella is exerting or not, help her see more objectively how serious or big of a deal the thing is she’s fixated on, and how to prioritize it.

Stella is the sky (and the stars and the moon and the sun lol) and Bloom is the ground. They meet in the middle and sometimes they seem to blur into the other. They’re both splendid and compliment each other so well and make the most beautiful compositions, whether it’s a sunset in the mountains or a hurricane at sea. That’s the spice of life, babeyyy.

Stella drowns Bloom in gifts and words of affirmation. Bloom is all about quality time and acts of service (Stella has always enjoyed being doted on thankfully).

The Ultimate Power Couple. Together they have the power of god and all the celestial bodies at their whim. Heirs to two of The Pillars of The Magical World, one with its own specialty magic and the other considered the center of all life and magic that ever was and ever will be.

I never even considered them! But the idea is very sweet imo

Very much a classic “upfront and blunt” with a “shy and soft spoken” combo

Aisha is ready to go at any given moment and Flora would remind her to take a minute and smell the roses (lol)

Flora treats her so gently, not because she thinks Aisha can’t handle anything else, but simply because she wants to. Because the world is so harsh and cruel already at times (they know all about that by now), so what could be better than being drowned in something soft and kind to make facing the hard times more bearable.

Aisha is always touching some part of her. Her hand, her hip, her shoulders, her hair, anything.

Flora grabs little things she sees here and there that remind her of Aisha. A flower she saw in the courtyard (she asked before she picked it if the flower was ok with it obviously. She then cast a spell that made a new bud grow that was even richer and healthier than before), a hair clip she saw at a boutique, some woven threads that had a lovely shimmer to them that she adds some beadwork to and gifts to her randomly during a walk.

Very fond and growing more fond the more I think about it.

so, a while back, I posted some headcanons if the girls looked more alien. WELL, ME AND ONE OF MY FRIENDS HAVE NEW IDEAS HERE WE GO LETS DO THIS

if you missed the first one, here's part 1:

Flora: she has green veins on her arms, her blood is chlorophyll, and when she transforms, her skin is greem a la poison ivy

Tecna: She's able to pass through different outlets and electrical cords. Kinda like this part of gremlins 2

Aisha: Her arms can turn into water so when she strangles people, she can drown them. Think Ming Hua from Legend of Korra, that kind of thing.

She can also shapeshift into water, kinda like how lavagirl can shapeshift into lava but with out the head.

She's kind of embarrassed by this since she thinks its kind of useless and stupid. also she can bloodbend. you're welcome

Stella: The body we actually see her in isnt her true form. Her true form is actually one big silhuette of light. Think the anodite's from Ben 10 but without the eyes and the glowing hair. Her voice in this form is an echoey version of her normal voice.

She's able to shapeshift into a more humanoid form which, as part one says, that when the sun hits it , her skin becomes holographic and crystalized. When the moon hits it, both this form and her true form become dimmer and kind of a dark starry blue. Think of this character's body.

I feel like she prefers her more humanoid form, but there are definately times where her true form just has to shine.

New Winx Design: Personal Thoughts Because Why Not lol

Aisha:

❤️ love the dreads and her face shape is so cute! It looks like she has defined abs which is cool if she's meant to be particularly more fit.

💔 her outfit is plain compared to the other girls. It doesn't really have a personality to it other than she's sporty and the bright colours make it less cool as well. Aisha deserves better, her outfit shouldn't look like that of a background character!

Bloom

❤️ she looks just like her classic design! Although I prefer the fashion of the original Winx, for what this new Winx is going for, it's not bad. I like the colours!

💔 The bracelets and necklaces make her outfit look boho which doesn't fit Bloom. I'm also questionable on the plaid leggings, I can see how they work but I'd maybe go with a solid colour instead. I'm also confused about what that translucent thing over her right hand is?? But I can go without it.

Flora

❤️ Although I can't make out the whole silhouette, the style works for this iteration of Winx. It's more boho and the flower motif with the sleeves and frills are fun and creative!

💔 I prefer her classic eye shape much more, her eyes look too big here. I see some frill poking out above the belt and I'm going to hope that was an error because it'd be an awkward look. The belt could also be cuter or maybe replaced with some delicate chains/beads! I also think the top green part of her dress overwhelms the design and I'd make her hoop earrings gold instead.

Musa

❤️ I love this cool hair style and her outfit lives up to the fashion of classic Winx imo! I love the cool short sleeve jacket and vest with the big choker! Almost everything about this fit slays!

💔 the only things I don't like are the frilly top and the striped waistband. The top adds an unnecessary element of femininity that doesn't suit Musa and was something I didn't like being integrated into her design over the course of Winx. It could be a cropped tee instead! The waistband could also just be a solid purple.

Stella

❤️....

💔 I'm sorry but I find this Stella to be a serious down grade. Her style is very plain and uncreative for someone who's supposed to be the most fashion savvy. I also find it cliche to give her this pink preppy look because she's the "girly one" when her past design was so transcendent. I can see a colourful beaded bracelet too which makes her outfit look more childish, especially when that's the only accessory she has besides the shades. Her head also looks much bigger than everyone else's???

Techna

❤️ probably my favourite of the redesigns, I just love the commitment to the alternative neon punk aesthetic! The robotic details on her sleeves and tights are so cool and I love the overall metallic texture of her outfit. I like that they gave her bright makeup as well, she looks badass and the most modernized!

💔 no real complaints! I just hope the shoes are just as good lol

MADE EDITS i couldn't stop thinking about their outfits and like,, the aspects i liked and thought felt very winx and in line with the individual characters and the aspects i Hated and thought sucked dookie SO i made some edits :)

biggest changes are to musa, aisha, and stella! actually changed the clothes there. flora and tecna i just adjusted the colors (in flora's case to further unwhitewash her and saturate her clothing more and in tecna's case to bring back her pink hair and green and cyan).

I'll start with the simpler edits!

For Tecna, I just wanted to play around with her og colors lol I actually LOVE her new look and I would love to see this be the final design!! It's SO tecna and fits in with the rest of the winx i love it soo much :') I do think they should bring back her pinker hair though! And again, would love to see the green and cyan make an appearance. I feel like neon green is just very classy techy character. And while it is cliche, I do love it akjgd plus I think it looks good on her and makes the other colors stand out more imo! (but maybe this new, pinker look will make people like her more idk :') justice for tecna my beloved :'))

For Flora, I darkened her skin more for obvious reasons. And then I added more saturation to the colors and added back the warmer tones they took out. Imo, the darker, desaturated, and cooler toned look for Flora only works in very specific circumstances. Color theory rainbow!! Bring back the brightness! The color!! The warmth!!

Which brings me to Stella ohmygod,,, please,,,, please stop desaturating her she looks so pale and sick and lifeless STOP please :') Anyway lol, obviously brought back the brighter orange! I also took away the random sleeve. It's cute but it just didn't feel very Stella at the time? The tube top look is Very Classic Stella (very much giving s3 casual but in orange). Tbh, I don't love the dress itself, but I do think it looks better once you add more of Stella's colors. I also tanned her skin more and made her hair more yellow + brighter! Just like with Flora, color theory is important for media!! This Stella design just does Not give sunny, optimistic character. It's giving the gap (aka BORING aljdhg)

Aisha's design stumped me for a bit, I won't lie. I couldn't figure out exactly what I didn't like. But I got it!! One, way too symmetrical imo. Yes, Aisha does have some very symmetrical looks, but like 80% of her looks are very asymmetrical. I also didn't love that it didn't incorporate more of Aisha's powers. It really just went for *vaguely sporty* and didn't try to bring anything else to the table. And some people might say that Aisha's og looks were like that too, but I disagree! They told a story! She's a brave adventurer, a dancer, a princess, etcetc!! This tells me "oh yeah this girl might like to do yoga. cool."

Anyway! So I made Aisha's pants baggier because let's be fucking real for a sec. Changed the design on the pants slightly to make it asymmetrical and incorporated a wave design. Took away that bottom shiny fabric of her shirt. I tried to keep it but it just wasn't looking great with the pants changes tbh. Added small waves to the bottom and made it one shoulder! Also added her classic little circle wave design 1. because it's cute and 2. so Musa wouldn't feel so out of place with a design. Tbh, I still don't love the pants... I think maybe that hem could be higher?

For Musa! I've spoken about this before but I do not like the bodysuit. I liked the concept and the vibe it brings, but it looks So uncomfortable and s1 Musa was alllll about being comfortable. It's why so many people think she hates wearing dresses (even though she doesn't). So I kept the vibe, but changed it to the same mesh that's on her right arm! Which like!! I didn't even see that until I started the edit!! It's so,,, unnoticeable which like,, isn't a bad thing? But also? I think the mesh being on her stomach too makes the design as a whole a little more balanced (and it's a nice callback to her og magic winx!). As for the color changes, really just wanted to go back to her reds and dark blues. I don't Hate the color scheme, but I also don't love it. And I think this feels a lot more like Musa yknow? Also darkened her hair cause fuck that dude

Anyway lol it's not the best edit so don't look too hard :') I just wanted to explore what I liked about the designs and what I didn't. We did get to see a little bit of Bloom's casual, but I want to wait until we get a closer look to speak on it/make edits. Also tbh, I don't really love Flora's outfit but I didn't want to completely redesign her and I concede that this is something she would wear (although it feels more like s4 cowgirl time/s5 casual and not s1 new student time but Fine). For now, I'm gonna pretend the trailer showed us my edit of Stella and not what it really showed. I can't get pale pinterest stella out of my head,,, aggghhhh

Helia/Musa: I've actually been thinking about this pair a lot recently. At first, I wasn't really a big fan of it, but then I started to look at it more with an open mind and I can totally see it happening! (I can't make up my mind whether they'd be more of a platonic pairing or a non platonic one.) I can definitely see Helia helping Musa write songs, and Musa inspiring Helia's poetry. Helia would calm Musa's temper and help her better navigate and express her emotions. He'd patiently listen to her rant about literally anything and offer her his best advice and support. I can picture them having a ton of heart-to-heart conversations about their dreams and aspirations.

Layla/Timmy: I think that this is my first time hearing about this one! To be frank, I don't really see this one happening. I think that they just have a lack of compatibility. I personally think that their different interests and personalities would make it difficult for them to connect and communicate effectively.

Bloom/Brandon: In a platonic way? Sure! But otherwise, no. I think that if the two were to be in a relationship, Bloom would become extremely jealous over Brandon's flirty nature towards other girls. (You know how she is with Sky.) That's why Stella and Brandon work so well (completely discarding their relationship drama in s4 because it is so UNLIKE Stella to get jealous over Mitzi. Remember when Brandon and Stella back in s1-s2 maybe 3 I don't remember, would have those little competitions to see who could get asked out by the most people/pull the most people?) if Bloom perceives Brandon's flirtatious behavior as a threat to their relationship or feels insecure about his intentions with other girls, it could lead to tension and conflict between them. Bloom's jealousy may stem from a lack of trust in Brandon's loyalty or fear of being betrayed. If she constantly worries about Brandon's interactions with other girls or feels anxious that he may be tempted to pursue someone else, it can create a strain on their relationship.

Flora/Brandon: I'm not too sure about how I feel on this one- but I will think about it more and let you know what I think when I figure that out lol.

And don't worry, I don't like Sky either lmao (nor Bloom for that matter but that's for a different topic..😭)

I'm always genuinely surprised that so many ppl think Brandon/Flora would be the next best Brandon-centric couple after Brandon/Stella

I wonder if its bc of the motorcycle scene in S2, the fact they wear similar green-pink colored clothes, or just the potential of the ship haha

I've seen some ppl interpret them as more of a sibling/friends relationship and that feels more believable to me? Bc I feel that Brandon has such a playful vibe, while Flora seems like she wants a more "traditional" romantic boyfriend (like the kind you see in movies where they make soulful paintings of their lovers lol)

I've always felt that Brandon would be semi-close to most of the winx girls. But I always thought he would be closer with Aisha bc of her love of sports. Aisha dislikes Brandon at first bc he initially comes across as chauvanistic, but these two eventually share a gym-bro-to-gym-bro respect and like to compete with each other.

Let's see... it's actually impossible to do a proper power tier list, as all the Winx besides Bloom are quite powerful

Bloom has the holy spirit dragon flame that created the universe, very obviously meant to be OP. She can bring people back from the dead and her powers are so godlike she's required for Darkar to stay alive as a vessel for his plans while Valtor considered her as a potential ally till the very end.

Stella is always the vice boss when Bloom isn't around and she's the one using her sun powers to melt the ice when Bloom isn't available. Sun and Moon and Royal lineage may give her an inherent advantage. Instant fast travel, energy light beams

Musa has always been shown to be the strongest offender with her sound waves, creating earthquakes, disabling the enemy's eardrums and senses and being able to sense Vibes around her

Tecna is a mix, bringing utility to the group with defense and situational tools, but also being a good attacker. Her tech powers afterall relate back to lasers and lightning. Her intelligence and adaptability is her real superpower above others

Aisha is more on the support side with her Morphix, but she still packs a punch (literally). Unfortunately they didn't do much with her fluids power relating to water, maybe to nerf her severely. She excels in defense, agility and utility.

Flora isn't remotely the weakest but the show keeps punching her down for some goddamn reason, getting her slammed around. She can summon huge plants and control them to her liking, she can communicate with the flora and fauna around her and in the season 1 game she can heal, thus she's a support healer. Being the only healer outside Bloom makes her more important than it seems

Hi! I love the blog and I would like to make Flora gifs of the newest seasons but I hate how they whitewashed her skin tone (and I'm using my older psds for her and they still make her look the same skin ton as Bloom, because that's what the show did 😥) I'm wondering if maybe anyone can help me on how I can get her original skin tone back in gifs and without making other character in the same gif (like Bloom) look so yellow? I'll take all the tutorials, sorry for the bother!! ❤

Hi!

It's very hard to fix Flora's and Aisha's skin tones without affecting other characters in the gif. If you have access to After Effects, I highly recommend using it as it has a Color Correction section that works a little more than just PS.

First, pick the scene you want to gif and upload it to After Effects. You can upload it as a gif, but there is no gif option when exporting so you would need to export it again as a gif in PS. Once you have your scene in AE, go to the right of the screen and look for the Color Correction option. Click on Color Correction so you see the list and look for Change Color.

Once you click Change Color, this is what you'll see to the left of the screen:

Select the eyedropper in the Color to Change section, and click the character's skin tone. I recommend avoiding picking from their cheeks as they usually have blush. Then go to Lightness Transform and lower the lightness until their skin gets closer to the original skin tone. Save your work and do what you would usually do to make it into a gif ready for coloring. Once in PS, use the Selective Color to adjust the reds and yellows till you get an exact or close to an exact match of their original skin tone.

For example, here's a very simple Color Correction edit with Flora:

The only thing I did was turn the lightness down after color picking her skin. With Flora, you often have to color pick both her shaded skin and her unshaded skin in order to darken everything. If you just color pick one or the other, only the one you pick will change (in most scenes at least).

The program reads her hair as being the same color so her hair has also darkened, causing the lines to fade as well, however, she definitely looks much better.

And here I've done the exact same thing with Aisha:

Again, you can see that her hair has also changed color, and the shells in the background were also affected, but still much better than before.

Unfortunately, even with this fix, it's hard to combat dealing with other characters in the same scene. Below, I've used the exact same fix, only color picking Flora's skin and lowering the lightness. But...

As you can see here, the other characters now have a bit of a tan, as their skin tones are very close to Flora's in S8 (but it's not that bad since they were all lightened lol). Thankfully, Flora's S8 skin tone does have more yellow and red than the others, so her skin will still end up darker. Depending on the scene and character, you may be able to lower the yellow hues in the white section of Selective Color in PS without affecting Flora's skin tone, as seen here:

You'll also notice some unfortunate "glitching". This is due to the background matching their skin tones. If you're going to use this fix, I'd recommend sticking to scenes where the background is a very different color from their skin (like the above solo examples of Aisha and Flora on the beach). That means avoiding reds, beiges, and yellows as those will change.

Now, if you don't have After Effects, here are two psds for Flora and Aisha respectively. These aren't meant to be all-around fixes; you will likely have to play around with the adjustments depending on what scene you're working with. More often than not, these psds will not work with group shots. Occasionally they will, but usually, they make the other characters very yellow.
