Good evening, everyone!

I hope you are all doing well. I’m happy to unveil my most recent commission, a character portrait for the phenomenal @seilune. Here are some words on the work:

"Lady Astrande" is a work that serves as a portrait for the character of the same name. Lady Seilune Astrande, matriarch of House Astrande, is a talented arcanist, enchantress, and illusionist. Formerly a fashion icon, she now serves as both an ambassador for her people and a military figure. As the First Officer of the mighty Duskwatch Saberguard, Lady Astrande focuses on the sanctity and prosperity of her people, and every action she takes is done so with that in mind.

Strings and woodwinds framed with percussive colours and horns serve to represent the lavish and powerful Seilune, a softer more mystical tableau with the lack of powerful brass elements.

The character Seilune Astrande is solely the property of the commissioner.

Three interesting little tidbits or facts of your muse.

Now that depends on which one because I have maaaaany!

But here are three about @seilune:

1.) She’s based off of many fictional women including Cher from Clueless, Regina George, Queen Azshara, Daenerys Targaryen, and Princess Jasmine.

2.) She’s also based off of real life people including Paris Hilton, the Kardashians, Marilyn Monroe, Marie Antoinette, and Queen Elizabeth I. Quite the motley crew, hm?

3.) Seilune was originally written as significantly older, being aged at over 13,000 years. However after some consideration and advice, I made her just over 9,000. I chose this age because I wanted her age to reflect how she would come to feel stuck in the middle of two words—the pre-Sundering and post-Sundering. Her parents were alive during the WotA and it was then when House Astrande really took off. There were different ideals then, ideals that Seilune challenges. This has lead to some butting heads with her father.

Personal log:

To say that I am frustrated and upset is an understatement. The past two days have stretched the limits of my patience and yet I find it hard to truly be mad at the ones that caused it all. They were trying to help and I appreciate it. 

Apparently there was a little secret going around among those in my command to render me unconscious, abduct me, conduct an exorcism and rid us all of the fiend that haunts us. One would think it was a great idea and that we should have tried this earlier but after the results, I think we can all say that we underestimated our enemy.

During the casting of the spell, which hurt a lot by the way, we were all sucked into a nightmare realm much like the one we encountered back in October. Each member of the party was attacked by their own fears to the point that I think it will take time for all of us to emotionally recover. 

Even though no one is speaking with one another nor looking anyone in the eye at this moment, we did at least learn something of interest. The nightmare back in October was not caused by Talredan himself. Despite my hatred of the man, I have to admit he is innocent of that particular incident. It was apparently caused by the Faceless One, a woman under Dvoraak’s command that seems to power his little mind games. I’m pretty sure she is the reason he is able to possess me. I think if we take her out, we could weaken him severely. I’m going to keep this to myself for now so the others don’t get any wild ideas of charging in alone. I know from experience that that does not work very well.

Advisor’s Report 0056

I was recently employed by Ambassador Astrande to investigate a recent shipment of arcwine that did not reach its destination in Zul’dazar. Wishful thinking on the ambassador’s part materialized in the initial theory that the cargo and its crew were delayed due to volatile oceanic patterns in the South Seas. It was not unfounded, of course. Past expeditions when serving under the agency’s banner had us met with storms that rivaled those conjured by powerful elementals. But the discovery of the vessel’s remains approximately one hundred yards off the eastern shoreline of Stormsong Valley has proven it to be inaccurate. Regardless, strong winds and tides are not foreign to these seas, thus it is not far fetched to deduce them as being the cause of this unfortunate loss. 

But closer inspection was warranted by a curious discovery--a tabard nailed to the stern of the broken vessel, its emblem a deep sea kraken atop a royal purple background. The cloth appears to be heavily imbued with dark magic, stemming from powers and forces that are not beyond my understanding, and continued exploration along the shoreline and into the mainland show that they only seem to intensify. Based on what I have gathered in the two weeks spent in this area, I believe dark forces to be at play and I advise Ambassador Astrande to cease exercising her current trade routes of choice when transporting her products. Given the woman’s unwavering confidence and her desire for swift and prompt deliveries of her House’s export, I fear that my advice will fall on deaf ears.

I will request her council some time within the upcoming weeks, though at the moment my primary objective is determining the exact identity of this hostile target and with whom they are aligned. All additional findings will be recorded in a supplemental log as they become available.

The Duskwatch Saberguard has formed a new division in our ranks: The Moonlight Market! Vendors, merchants, nobles and any others in our unit that wishes to promote Suramar goods can now do so at community markets and festivals. 

We’re starting small as we work out trade deals with Suramar merchants. Astrande wine from our dear Seilune Astrande, Suramar inspired jewelry, and manasaber plushies are just the start! (Plushie example is pictured above!)

We’re looking forward to staffing stalls and showing off our wares! All proceeds will go toward Loviattar’s neverending-rebuilding-her-office-furniture-after-she-throws-it-at-people fund.
