Yeah this was my piece for the uwe zine, I really love how it ended :3

I bet the series is gonna end with (if it gets that far without being cancelled), their souls finally being put to rest and Edred and Melinda being together forever in the afterlife because they finally dont have to fight anymore

Also, with Merlin actually being revealed to be The Evil and the fox woman is not actually evil, she's just trying to prevent Merlin from using them as pawns and Emma will be the one to catch onto it. Edred will probably be in denial about it at first because why would Merlin do such a thing, force them to fight for centuries, taking over people's bodies and rewriting them, stealing them away from their loved ones, but Merlin will have his own convoluted reason for using their souls for his own gain or whatever.

Also, wouldn't it be cool if even if Melinda, Edred and Seng's souls move onto the afterlife and become at peace, Emma, Dimitri and Alfie get to keep their powers ? Because what if, instead of the same heroes being reincarnated, they were actually meant to choose new ones to fight under the banner of the unicorn once ?

I'll discuss the episode later, but I find the voices interesting. Seng/Alfie and Emma/Melinda still have their hosts' voices, but Edred doesn't. Is it to show how the host personality hasn't been erased? Emma never sounds like Melinda, even when the latter takes over.

I think the ending just goes to show that any depiction of Merlin CAN NEVER BE TRUSTED

What if Copernicus got it wrong ? That's why the reincarnations seem off. What if, for the first time in centuries, something glitched and he chose the wrong bodies ? Think about it.

The old reincarnations he chose were warriors, soldiers, people who fought. And who are these new people ? A bride, a magician and a child. Like, he didnt even seem to sense that Dimitri was Edred at first.

What if he got it wrong and that's why everything feels wrong ?
