Why I like the anime series Hellsing more than OVA Ultimate:
• Style design
• No betrayal of Walter in the finale
• A lighter detective-crime plot without going into the Nazi militarium
• Great opening and music
• The “Master of Monster” series played in a new way and the additional series “Red Rose Vertigo”
|| I know that Ultimate is the closest incarnation of canon. I love the manga and I love the OVA, they are beautiful and unique. However, initially I fell in love with the anime series, and not the manga and OVA, I liked the fact that it seemed to play out in (almost?) alternative events of the canon, it had its own charm and peculiarity.
Of course, the anime series is very different from the manga canon. Of course, the anime series gives us some kind of new take on the original Hellsing and I understand that people who love the manga canon may not like it. However, this is a matter of taste. I personally love all of these things, but my favorite will always be the anime series because it was the one that first introduced me to Hellsing.

was reading some fanon opinions on j/p (i know) and it’s all so… bland. flavorless. i know i’m biased as a shipper but the truth is, in the end of the day, i find the “there was love but it wasn’t enough because these people are so complicated and traumatized that they both hurt each other” to be a much better and richer perspective than the cynical “there wasn’t love at all they just hurt each other over nothing” view that 95% of the fandom has on them. and it’s not like you HAVE to ship them to acknowledge the former, so i don’t really get it when people say with their whole chest that john never loved percy and vice versa.

Me whenever I remember the hardcore environmental subject,taught by one of the toughest professors at uni,then remember how RT made Logan an "environmentalist"
How the fuck one (1) guy riding a bicycle is going to do anything against air pollution? And considering how intelligent and well-educated Logan has always been(yes,always. He had plenty of problems at school,but none of them were with grades,AFAIK),he'd have realized it was merely an empty virtue signaling gesture. One would think Logan could help clean beaches and other places in Neptune(small scale,but still something with real results - making the city prettier and healthier),petition for proper disposal and treatment of residues(in all scales,not only in the industrial one),be invested in basic sanitation and water supply(those affect the poor disproportionally - see,Noir-relevant),engage in environmental education(bonus points if he gets to mentor troubled youth and take them under his wing - just like the professor did with him). Young!Logan might have plenty of flaws,but he got shit done.
Logan Echolls became what he hated the most - a virtue-signalling shithead who half-asses good deeds to stroke his own ego. Also,a State-Sanctioned Mercenary. Not very different from the vapid Hollywood he hated so much. I know the Doylist explanation was simply incompetence from RT,but can anyone think of an Watsonian one?

#konan#i think konan's silence during the whole exchange is very interesting to me#but also really frustrating like. look at her. she isn't indifferent while she listens to the story of the fall of her 2 only friends#we just know that she is quiet because kishi just didn't know how to handle her and just had her be nagato's cheerleader#but also we see that she wanted to just end things right there by killing naruto. she is really someone who doesn't speaks up more-#than she believes is enough. and she is certainly not the kind to just overshare her life and feelings. not even once we see her-#doing that. the only thing she mentions to naruto was that the tendo was yahiko's body and that nagato was the only one who kept her-#from leaving akatsuki. we never see the history from her own perspective only from nagato's and what we know of her are memories#ugh!!! i love konan but her writing frustrates me so much!! she is such an interesting woman who isn't swayed by emotions#and goes straight to the point and has the most unique jutsu but!!!!!!#alas!!! she is from a popular shonen series whose purpose is to hype up nagato!! she gets CRUMBS
