Mother stood up, hands on her hips. “You worked for someone without getting payed!”

Papa shook his head and laughed. “It was just a small little favor, my love.” He grabbed Mother and kissed her. “We get what we give.”

Catelyn showed Sansa how to float, to lay back and gaze at the frame the trees of the godswood made against the sky.

Sansa used to practice holding her breath, spending long moments completely below the surface. Curling her feet up, she wondered.

She was always going to and fro on her own business, from Maidenpool to Duskendale to Harrenhal and back again. She may go wherever she likes, even to Gulltown, simply because she wants to, and there is no one tell her different.

Alyssa thought she might very much like to travel, if it was in the company of Lady Jeyne, who never laughs but smiles often.

She had told her father that she might like to be a widow, and he had laughed. “Already plotting to do your poor husband to-be in? That’s the sort of thing you might get in trouble for.”

“Indeed, it is,” Lady Jeyne said with warmth in her voice. “It is the same one I learned on as girl, and it’s been gathering dust at Harrenhal for years now. I thought it might be worth making it sing again.”

“Thank you, Lady Smallwood. But,” she said, frowning, “I do not know how to play.”

“I thought I might be the one to teach you.”

The TARDIS can be capricious in what she thinks the Doctor needs or wants, sending her instead to another room rather than the one she's looking for. Today, mercifully, the TARDIS agrees with the Doctor on the direction she wants to go in, the doorway to the bathroom she wants appearing around the corner, the sound of water softly trickling through the open hexagonal door. The Doctor strides in, a wave of humidity hitting her as she steps into the chamber, soft moss springy underneath her feet and she barely pauses for a moment to kick off her boots and dress socks before walking further into the room. Her jacket gets wrenched off, tossed over a convenient tree branch, and there's an awkward moment as the Doctor extricates herself from her trousers and pants, pebbles skittering as she tries to keep her balance as the path begins its transition to rocky riverbank. The tight vest underneath the buttoned shirt is the last thing to come off, balled up and thrown onto shore as the Doctor wades further into the rushing stream that forms the network of pools in this bathroom. Sunlight shimmers over her naked skin, the false sun above reflected in the running water and all the mirrors that make up the landscape. There are thin, rectangular slivers of glass hanging from the trees like the chimes on Deva Loka, freshly cleaved rock surfaces that shine bright silver, even the trees have broad leaves that reflect the Doctor's nakedness. She pauses for a moment in front of a boulder cleaved in half to let the Master see her in all her naked glory - her curling hair, her smooth skin punctuated by the occasional mole,

help - untitled Jane/Sylvie/Loki fic set in an AU s1e3 where Sylvie and Loki end up stranded in pre-Snap Puente Antiguo, or maybe a post-S1 AU idk. All I know is I'd like to get Jane to kiss Sylvie before they time-window to somewhere else. And maybe confess she's reconsidered her feelings about Loki. Maybe.

"Are you sure she's not one of us?" Jane comes to a voice above her sounding skeptical and vaguely annoyed. It sounds more like Jane's British room-mate from undergrad than Darcy, and Jane struggles for a moment to remember where she is and why she's waking up. A second voice answers the first, deeper and further away though still close by. "She's not okay? I know her. Or of her at least." There's an insistence and strength to the second voice that makes it sound similar to the first voice, but not exactly the same. "Are you absolutely certain?" the first voice asks, still dubious, and Jane feels something brush across her forehead like fingers clearing her hair away from her face. "Because she did try to run you over when you introduced yourself. And she's wearing green." Jane's still not sure what the two people are talking about or why the colour of the flannel shirt she picked off the bedroom floor to wear this morning is important, but she does feel the need to defend her fashion choices. "Issmyfavourite." "Oh look, she's awake," the second voice says cheerily as Jane struggles to open her eyes. The first voice doesn't reply, but a cool hand does pull at her shoulder, helping Jane to sit up.

Being vertical helps and Jane manages to pry her eyelids apart to get a good look at the person in front of her. The woman is dressed mostly in black, a gold headband helping to keep her short blonde hair away from her face. Jane takes another second to register that what used to be a pair of horns erupt from the metal crossing the woman's forehead and frowns at this woman questioning the colour of the shirt she picked up from the floor this morning when Halloween is still the better part of two months away.

often - untitled 13/Dhawan!Master fic, which is mostly about what the fam hears when, in a slight AU of Spyfall part 1, the Doctor says the Master's name. No idea how it'll finish and have absolutely no idea what Graham hears (Yaz hears the alluring danger/threat, Ryan hears the love/promise, so maybe Graham hears the betrayal?)

Gallifreyan allows for nuance, it has to with twelve different tenses. A name can just be a name, a collection of syllables that personally identify an individual. Certain Time Lords change their name as often as they change their robes. But names hold meaning as well, especially in Gallifreyan, and those definitions are not so easily shed. That name, Koschei, is an old name, a dead name, a relic of a past so long ago that only the two of them stand as monuments to it. No, to use that exact name would be to desecrate the lives they've lived and disregard the choices they've made. It'd ignore the name the Master chose for themself, ignore the person they've become. So when the Doctor gapes at the presumed former MI6 agent known as 'O', the cogs slowly falling into place as his real identity slowly coalesces into realisation, the Doctor uses instead the meaning of that name: the whispered under blankets reason that had been shared with her so long ago and the declaration that secret held. The one that burns her with guilt at the memories of how she's failed to keep that long uttered promise.

I am very close to getting this to a point I'm ready to publish, but it's this ending that's causing trouble by needing to have the emotional threads tie up with the symbolic threads. Brackets are bits I'm editing/writing, big spaces need something in them.

The blue shading underneath Natasha’s eyes shifts a little in response, changing the glittering green of her eyes in a movement that can't be measured by engineering to exact tolerances. An artist would have the vocabulary to describe what's just changed in Natasha's face, what has lifted ten years off of it. Tony is not an artist but he has created, and in that shift he thinks he can see the answer to his previous question. The warming smile that slides across his face in reply is [friendly, weapon to weapon, shared trauma knitting them closer than they can ever articulate.] Natasha’s smile is smooth and practised, not a genuine reflection of her [feelings] "I have some locations that might be of interest to you. [Black market suppliers. Weapons caches for terrorists, extremist groups.]"

First up is Horus, ft: my face hc for him

1) I love the fact that hes a dense mf, he doesnt get sarcasm and its HILARIOUS.

2) even tho hes power hungry, hes still pretty chivalrous and protective of Carter even if they butt heads from time to time.

3) the fact that he uses a pigeon host and calls them "well adapted to modern civilization" and eats the left over Cheerios from khufu

Also, the possibilities of fluff with bird like stuff like ruffled feathers and making birb noises? Cute!

I might say that all of his scenes are super funny, starting by the fact that ra calls him "moon pie" and im so close to making that my nickname for him.

1) the fact that hes got power over time, And that nut kicked his ass in setnet enough times to form 5 complete days. Its so FUCKING funny.

Set/evil day/the best comedic relief in book 2

1) he was the perfect antagonist for the first book.

2) the second book when he starts imitating amos??? Ugh!!! Just imagining him in that suit makes me blush!

3) hes so FUCKING funny and charming.

4) his exit in the first book is fingerguns shooting at sadie like a kid angy at his mom.

4) un book 3 when amos is kicking ass using his powers.

5) when he says to Carter "im gonna help your uncle learn the path of sett" I can imagine how it would sound and its so FUCKING badass. Only imagining it I get goosebumps.

6)he breaks 6 jars on menshinkovs Head and its so funny.

7) how whiny he gets when menshikov traps hom in the malachite jar.

AMOS!!!!!

1) hes so dramatic in the first book. Ominous.

2) the fact that Carter has a picture of him playing the saxophone. Just imagining it makes me warm and fuzzy.

3) hes so gentle and suave. Sweep me off my feet.

4) the fact that he controlls sett and its like the biggest fuck you to his past trauma.

5) the fact that he becomes a fatherly figure 🥺🥺🥺🥺

6) he uses a red pinstripe suit affirming his connection to sett. Its such a fuck you moment to those that were like "HES USING SETTS MAGIC EW KILL HIM" TRY AND MESS WITH HIM NOW BITCH.

7) hes a gentle leader and I love that.

8) his character growth.

AND LOOK HOW GOOD HE LOOKS IN THE GRAPHIC NOVEL OF THE FIRST BOOK.

Pick Frozen Wild Alaskan Salmon for Freshness and Flavor

Imagine how many hours, or even days, it takes to transport fresh salmon from seiner to shore to truck to store. as part of my new year's* resolution to wear more of my earrings, here is a pair I made in an evening class in 2020. textured silver and silver wire.

Plenty of people have reflected that sewing patterns are designed for an average that doesn't really fit anyone. It especially doesn't fit me. Ramblings below the cut on how I've been approaching sewing/adjusting clothes to my own proportions.

I have a narrow back paired with a large and forward-projecting bust. There are two, two and a half brands (freya, fantasie, sometimes panache) that make bras of the right shape and size to fit me & be comfortable without fucking up my back. I can buy ready to wear knit tops that fit me pretty decently, or oversized shirts, but tailored garments are generally designed with a B or at most a C cup in mind, not a G cup.

So by trial and error over the past 4+ years I have been approaching a top basic block that fits, which I can then adjust as needed for garments which actually fit. (following guidance from people like the closet historian). My current attempt is pretty close - I think I need a little more room in the back shoulder and a bit of a dart to keep the back armscye from gaping. Feeling pretty positive there.

Then on the bottom, the unusual body shape strikes again. My high hips are the same width or wider than my low hip, and my butt is low and small. In making (or adjusting) trousers I generally need to take up to an inch of length out of the back rise and up to 3/4'' out of the side height. But I've got a fairly long torso and waist to crotch measurement (and a bit of a belly) so need to keep (or sometimes add) height to the front rise.

This works fine for wide leg trousers, flared skirts, etc. But for fitted garments I'm increasingly turning to the age old approach of just adding padding. After all most of fashion design is about silhouette & it's a time-honoured tradition to add padding in order to get the silhouette you're aiming for.

Here I've found there are a lot of tutorials on Nigerian fashion youtube where it's just a normal thing to do. I hadn't been getting much joy out of trying to make a sloper that both a) fitted my lower body and b) achieved the shape I wanted. I'm thinking I may just make a petticoat with the padding attached that I can swap out under garments as needed. It's pretty freeing actually.

sewed me some blue jeans using the helene jeans pattern (would recommend - very easy to follow - suggest top down centre out fitting and doubling the height of the pocket bag so you can actually fit a phone into it without stabbing yourself when you try to sit down).

I started them a couple months ago but didn't manage to finish it until my knee had healed up enough from the surgery to try them on again and use the sewing machine comfortably.

Did a couple of fit fixes. I needed a bit of extra room (about 1.5' total) at the high hip and waist, which I took out of the side seam allowance. TBH I maybe could have left this and let the denim stretch, but I decided to go for comfort up front. I also needed a little less height in the sides and back (about half a cm at the hips shading to 1cm at the back - yes, my brain picks whether I use metric or imperial while sewing essentially at random), which I managed when attaching the waistband.

I messed around with the pocket opening a bit and i'm not 100% happy with how that turned out so will skip that when I make the next pair. I made the straight leg this time and next time I'm going make the wide leg. I also have a denim off-cut I got for half price so I might make another pair of shorts.

The Master leads her down into the labyrinth of corridors that make up most of the Capitol. They're somewhere in the judiciary sector, ruined courtrooms visible through broken doors

The start of a literally filthy fic inspired by comments @mastershearts made about the state of Dhawan!Master's nails and my brain mashing together the dirt under his nails with 13's fondness for eating dirt and they both know the Doctor knows exactly what he's been doing and then I get to indulge in weird alien biology involving mucous membranes and providing sensory descriptions including taste of what is going on
