Rose could be SF6 DLC in the Future

I write this here because not a lot of people follow me on Tumblr lol. Anyway, a long time ago I wrote about this particular leak I saw back in June 2022 on Reddit, which was about a year before Street Fighter 6 was released. The leak had a lot of inaccuracies, but it also had a lot of truths. The A.K.I. one in particular was almost 100% correct.

There’s a paragraph in there that said JP is interested in Ed. That’s true too. It also said he’s interested in Rose. This has yet to happen, but seeing that a lot of those leaks end up being true, I wouldn’t be surprised if Rose comes to SF6 and JP will be her arcade boss.

Plus, Capcom can’t leave us at a cliffhanger with Rose’s SFV Character Story Mode with G. Obviously something interesting is going to happen. I wanna know what’s gonna happen!

Now, I’m not saying she might be DLC for Season 2, but there’s a possibility that she might come back sometime in the game’s lifespan.

THEN I woke up hazy one morning and was like 'oh yeaa the uh nintendo direct indie thing hhgsgshdhj' and saw a thumbnail for CAPCOM FIGHTING COLLECTION 2, LIKE WHAHAHAAAAA and the line-up is INSANE: SNK vs Capcom 2 YES Alpha 3 UPPER YES Fighting Evolution being here is CRAZY but then you got the 3D FIGHTERS: POWER STONE, RIVAL SCHOOLS (AAAA), and FREAKING PLASMA SWORD. Unlike the MvC Collection, I dunnoooo that this would lean into a new SNK vs Capcom game. We got Terry and Mai in SF6 which is super nice, but both studios are most def busy atm; SNK doing Fatal Fury is a big one. I'm 99% sure we'll see a new SNKvC someday because of these collaborations. It's just nice to see these games, especially the old titles, become easily accessible and more people will be able to play these amazing, quirky, fun, and outright genre defining titles. harada finally commented on the leaks - claiming they're "old" and a lot has already been changed or altered. people are debating whether this is true, or if harada's just trying to do damage control. i'm gonna guess it's the latter. just because how long it took him to make a comment, likely it was PR trying to figure out what's the best way to handle this. (especially since harada referred to the leaks as "minor." ehich I'm unsure if you can consider a roster leak to be "minor" or not.) buuuut like. given that even before azucena's portrait was leaked in the entire roster leak (and it being true) - there was a post dating back in april this year that said there would be a newcomer named azucena whose entire personality is coffee. and well... they were spot on about that and they didn't even have any sources for their leaks lol. so... i just feel the roster is very damning and true.

however... it could be possible that harada meant that is not the final roster. as many people argued if it was the final roster or still an unfinished roster. as many important characters are missing (such as eddie, miguel, and lidia - who people were SURE was gonna be in it.) i didn't think it was unfinished bc even tho harada already confirmed tek8 will have a bigger roster than SF6... well, 32 characters is indeed bigger, and a decent size for a base roster. but who knows, maybe there will be more. that will be awesome and exciting.

and i guess it's still very possible this is unfinished. because one of the reasons why somebody tried to claim this ISN'T a real leak (before the azucena reveal and now we're 99% sure it is) is because kuma's render looks just like his render from 7, but with something thrown on his face. and maybe it STILL is... even if this is a real roster. maybe not all of these characters renders are finished, therefore some has "place holders." this could be an early picture of the roster and there could still be more characters that will be added, or renders to be edited.

or harada could just be full of shit to save company's face and this is all 100% true and not old, and is just about finished. either way... GODDDD, i just hope the game comes out soon!!!! it's driving me craaazy to theorize and wonder about all this!!! omg!!!!

Characters I Mained This Year

1. Chun-Li - Street Fighter 6

I have always kept Chun-Li in my roster in previous iterations of Street Fighter but she was never a Main. Until her SF6 redesign! I've had tons of fun with the game in general but with Chun-Li in particular as well. When the entire base roster and season 1 DLC leaked A.K.I. immediately caught my eye and I thought she would be my main, but after realising that she wasn't part of the launch roster I immediately focused on Chun-Li and even now that A.K.I. is out and she is part of my roster, Chun-Li stayed in place!

2. Testament - Guilty Gear -Strive-

Strive's redesigning of characters confused me a bit. At first I immediately picked up I-No and then I thought that I would switch for Jack-O' when she was announced but I didn't really vibe with Strive Jack-O' as much as I did with GGXrdR Jack-O' so I stuck to I-No but I wasn't 100% content. I love I-No and I've played her in the past but I wanted something more. After finally getting Testament I was hooked. I knew they were the one and I'm so happy with my choice!

3. Nina Williams - Tekken 7

Nina is of course my forever Queen and she will always be so of course she's on this list. Not much more to say, I've mained her since I was a kid so she stays on top as the Queen of Tekken!

4. Trish (& X-23 & Phoenix) - Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

UMVC3 is of course a team game, it's just that I think of Trish as the "leader" of the team of shorts. I'm still struggling with this game, I think I always will, but it's always a nice change of pace from my usual Tekken sessions and these three girlies are my favourites to play as.

5. Mai Shiranui (&Luong &B. Jenet) - The King of Fighters XV

Now that the game's online was finally fixed I was able to get my ass kicked properly online with my girls! To tell you the truth I'm still not 100% sure if I'm sold on Jenet. I love her, obviously, but I'm not sure if she's main team material. Mai and Luong are staying for sure, but if Mature and Vice finally make it in a possible upcoming season, Mature is probably rejoining my main team!

6. Android 18 (& Android 21 & Trunks)

In a game with only four playable ladies (and one palette swap) I struggled a lot to find my team as I'm not really a Dragon Ball fan, I just have a general idea of who the characters are and what they do with their life. Android 18 was an obvious first choice and so was 21, but then I grew unexpectedly fond of Trunks (plustheothertwoladiesarenotuptomystandars) hence how he made the cut!

7. Neco-Arc - Melty Blood: Type Lumina

I always pick my mains based on looks and then personality and gameplay so Neco-Arc came as a breath of fresh air in a game like MBTL, let's be very honest. She has a distinct lack of cuntiness compared to the rest of my mains that made the top this year but I think she more than makes up for it in the personality department!

8. Mileena - Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate

It's taking me a while longer to upgrade to MK1 because I'm broke, so I took as much advantage as I could of MK11U's final hours and my main girl is of course still my number one. I'm not sure who I'll pick in MK1 though... I feel like, for the first time since Deadly Alliance, Nitara may be the one..!

There were a mixture of reactions for this. The people who main those characters are happy while everyone else, which I think it’s the majority, were really upset. The leaker is supposedly Vergeben, who actually had a hit or miss record in leaking info. But his leak for the SF6 season 1 characters was almost 100% accurate, down to “Cammy wearing pants.” To me, if there’s a short written description of the characters’ appearance, they tend to be true as oppose to just naming the characters. But I read that this Vergeben may be an imposter because that’s not his real Reddit account. His real account is DasVergeben while the most recent one is shinvergeben. But the DasVergeben account hadn’t posted anything in the past 2 years, so who knows if shinvergeben is the same guy or not, but created a new Reddit account.

Ngl, when I saw the list, I was kinda sad. F.A.N.G’s purpose in Street Fighter 6 is to revive Bison and Shadaloo. This was known since the TOXICITY story was released in 2018. I’d like to see how his revival journey would unfold in his Arcade or World Tour Mode because it sounds like a compelling character story. But if Bison comes back as a DLC before a playable F.A.N.G, that could mean FANG’s moment to shine in SF6 would become unlikely because his goal had already been met, so what’s the point. Sure, we might see FANG’s revival journey through Bison’s story, but it would be much better if it was through a playable FANG. It would give more meaning and significance to his story. Alas, I guess I’ll just accept FANG as an NPC for the entirety of SF6. FANG would be happy for Bison’s return, at least. But I’d still be salty that Capcom decided to steal FANG’s thunder. It would be nice if both FANG and Bison were to some back to SF6 in the same season…preferably FANG coming before Bison. Oh well. Dee Jay and Ed spoiled me so much because they proved that characters don’t have to be super popular in order to come back to a Street Fighter game.

Anyway enough of my rant. Regardless if the leaker source is true or false, I personally believe the Bison part is true. Back many months ago in October, I found unused voice clips for F.A.N.G. I had a feeling they’ll eventually be used in a later dlc. At first I thought they would be heard in the Ed DLC, but that didn’t happen. So I have a feeling they would be used in the Bison DLC instead. F.A.N.G did say Bison’s name twice in unknown contexts, and they were not heard during the AKI dlc. I’m assuming he either thinks about Bison or he finally sees Bison alive again. You can listen to extracted unused voice audio here, starting at 0:39 :

Now I have my own thoughts on what may happen during the Bison DLC. Based on the voice lines above, I think the avatar would be helping F.A.N.G in finding resources to revive Bison and Shadaloo. Unused lines like “You have my gratitude” and “Splendid job” sounds like you’re doing some tasks for him. I did mentioned about this in an older post:

street fighter 6 is obviously taking a lot from 3rd strike stylistically while also finally moving the timeline forward so the complete and utter lack of street fighter iii characters in both the main roster and leaked first season of DLC feels so weird and almost like, suspect. is the second season of DLC just going to be the entire cast of 3rd strike. is Q the secret final boss of sf6.

-Marisa turned out great all around, no notes
