First of all, she's a queer icon!

Second, she's a great friend. She stuck with Clarissa even if she didn't think Mark was the guy for her, and she helped her set up the wedding. All while being in love with her.

A lot of gays/lesbians fall in love with their straight friends and I feel like Amanda captures that feeling perfectly. Especially considering she still supported Clarissa's relationship.

Other than that, she's an iconic woman, and she interacts with the audience.
