Something I do love a whole lot about MLA0 is the gradual shift and swap of stories between the brothers. Michael spends the entirety of his first arc begging for help and for someone to notice he's suffering and do something, lashing out when they can't or don't, and Shaun spends his last arc doing something very similar, in which he's begging for someone to just fucking help him and lashing out when Michael won't.

"how are we supposed to fight this thing; run up and punch it?!" Shaun asks Michael in disbelief in the beginning!! he asks why the FUCK he should be involved here, there's no way to win! and then!! it happens!! in brotherly love!! "how are we supposed to kill it, Shaun?!" Michael asks!!! because they switch roles!!! they're both asking each other "Why won't you help me, why won't you do something, you're my brother." disregarding each other's safety because they're both afraid, and they're both terrified of doing this alone, and they feel lost. it's both of them!!

so, Shaun is a guy with a few connections. his childhood friend and roommate, eric, aims to protect him, until eric is put in the hospital and decides to flee to save himself. then Shaun clings to Dave, who he stays with until [Slenderman related horrors] and Michael asks him to come stay with him. then, all he's got is stormy, who's also… already involved. Shaun is a guy who actively searches for help, for people, for connections. bam, boom. suddenly all he's got his brother, and then he doesn't have that. (and this is a direct parallel to Michael, who doesn't get this, has no help, (until Patrick, until the second arc where the field levels))

I think both of the brothers are really, fundamentally terrified of being alone. They're always looking for help. Begging for it.

And Shaun thinks he gets it, you know? He gets that note. He goes to that address. He just lost everything. His friends and his life and his girlfriend and now it feels like he's lost his brother. So he reaches for the helping hand, finally, he thinks he's getting somewhere.

Which is why this is so bitter; you wanna see the very last shot we get of him?

he looks at the camera, vinnie.

[Shaun is choking louder now. HABIT suddenly pulls his arm away and Shaun gasps for breath, then starts coughing.] Shaun: (hoarsely) Vinnie… Vinnie: (whispering) Sorry.

Another Hunt - Looking For The April Fools Video

Hello everyone! You may remember awhile ago when the Eric/Documents documents were being searched for. It was the dead link in the description of Eric/Documents, the contents of which were unknown for some time. As many of you likely already know, those documents were found some time ago and are accessible here.

Now, that isn't what this post is about, really. It's just a prelude. I am now looking for something else, something that I believe is going to be harder to find.

At some point, an April Fools video was published on the MLAndersen0 channel. It has since become lost, but many would love to see it found. There are several gifs that float around originating from it, meaning the video likely exists somewhere, but who has it is a mystery. Currently, the known details:

The video was hosted on a channel called Gentlemens Camp. This channel no longer has the video available on it publicly. If it was unlisted, it would now be private due to Google's policy changes in 2021 that made it harder to find unlisted videos.

The video was seemingly titled "The Andersen Journals: The Movie"

In The Andersen Journals trailhead on the Unfiction forum, there was discussion surrounding the video's release on April 1st 2011. There's a few things we can learn from this.

The video presumably went live around 7:59pm EST.

It was a recreation of the entries up to that point.

It includes the line "The mirror is broken... just like my psyche."

If this video is something any of you have, something you think you could track down, or something that sounds at all familiar, please comment! I'd love to be able to track this video down and bring it back to light. Even if you just have gifs, clips, or anything small from it, please reach out as I'd love to compile as much as I can! As someone who was influenced by the fandom to dislike Shaun, but eventually realized he wasn't a bad person, here are some reasons not to hate him:

-First of all, he does care about Michael. And that's why he stayed, even when he was Patrick. He may have been immature with uploading that video with Eric, but that's just one of his character flaws. He runs away from his problems, and often doesn't apologize. But that doesn't mean he doesn't love Michael.

Michael is his brother after all. If he didn't care, he would've told HABIT where he was, so he could have his freedom. But he didn't. Shaun died because he was refusing to give away Michael's location in order to protect him. If he didn't care, he wouldn't have tried to contact Michael multiple times (mentioned in ‘A Message from Shaun’), and he would've just ran away, cut contact.

-I believe he's just afraid. His brother is having all of these crazy hallucinations, and saying that he's being followed by an entity that could harm both of them, and anyone close to them. So, Shaun puts some distance. Not because he doesn't care about Michael, but to keep his close ones safe.

-I also believe that their parents have to have had a part in Shaun's mentality. They kept Michael away, probably feeding lies to Shaun as well. Shaun was growing up getting told that his brother was crazy and needed to be locked away in a hospital. So of course, that was what he believed. He didn't believe Michael's words about the grandfather clock for a long time, shrugging them off as Michael being ‘crazy’ once again, even though he himself could remember something about that clock. He didn't even believe Slenderman's existence because he thought Michael was making it up. He was blinded into being afraid of his own blood and flesh, his brother.

(P.S this is all my opinion, and i'm too tired to look through all of the MLA0 videos again, so sorry if this is not lore accurate. i just wanted to ramble lol)

you will never understand the extent of my autism about michael and patrick as a system. its unexplainable. to love each other as brothers in a way you could never love your real sister when you were young. wanting that to just go away because its easier to ignore than to nurture. to reconnect with your sister and think you don't need that old form of love but YES YOU DO. to be protected. you don't want him to protect you. he does anyway. because he loves you.
