I discovered this fic in February and have been in love with it ever since. I didn't even get to recommend it to my mom (altho I was thinking abt it, but she never like lalo before, so I was unsure), then one day I'm on the phone with her and she was like, "you'll be surprised to hear this, but I'm reading a Lalo fanfic and it's so good!" and I stopped dead in my tracks and was like "WHAT. IS. IT. CALLED." and when she said "Madman" I hollered. She loves the fic so much it prompted her to rewatch all of bcs and now she loves Lalo lmao. It's the perfect fic. Any time a new chapter is added a little propeller pops outta my head and I just start flying around the room. It's written by the brilliant @richeeduvie she absolutely rules.

Yet another iconic Alice and Gwen moment this episode. The genuine concern when Gwen is visibly distressed. The attempt by alice to connect with her experience after saying she met one of the externals even though Gwen didn't fully explain how bad it actually was. The return to a joking tone, but not in the mean way she's had a few times before, to reassure her and try to make her feel better. The appreciation in Gwen's voice at the end. THEM!!!

speaking of archives I rolled up into the historical society christmas party (it was held in the back of a 160yo jail I bet you wish you were me) and was surprised that I was the only babyfaced community college student in a room full of 60yos who volunteer for funsies because they have nothing better to do than look at documents all day and wait for their grandkids to get home from school. idk why this keeps happening to me I keep thinking "THIS function will have young adults in it" and they never do because young adults are usually normaller than me

I've been hunkering down in Gundam Seed JP Twitter and it has been extremely enlightening, especially since I haven't rewatched the main series in a while. Things I forgot, things I actually remember but see in a new light...

Some people love/hate the new movie on there, but I've seeing a lot of people find it good - because it makes the point that 'Kira didn't actually heal from the events of Gundam Seed, and now that he's back on the battlefield without Lacus his sanity is hanging by a thin thread'.

A bunch of people pulling receipts on the discriminatory behaviours/opinions even Kira's friends had possessed unconsciously (in Sai's case, kind of... A bit more blatantly than most back when Kira didn't even pull shit, which had me hissing through my teeth...), the things that isolated Kira into thinking he has to handle things on his own (Tolle's death when he tried fighting by his side, for example), a comparison of behaviours between Murrue who gave him a bow of respect vs his friends who tell him 'we'll distract ZAFT as EA soldiers while you're on the refugee shuttle!' oblivious to the actual dangers because they were only ever on the bridge (haha,,,,, the fact this saved them even if it backed Kira into a corner,,,,,,,, ffffffuck)

Back to the movie, I've seen some mixed reactions about the second half, but!!! I'm generally seeing a lot of people looking at first half Kira and going 'my sad baby. my poor meow meow. get whumped.'

Again, this is all JP twitter, not EN, and definitely not the actual movie - but seeing people's reactions have been an entertaining ride.

Had some wine feeling good made a really shitty bowl in ceramics class this morning that I’m really worried has a bunch of air holes in it and had a really crappy therapy session where I didn’t talk too much but was honest about some other stuff which is good overall I guess but now I’m doing drunk crochet and watching the Duggar family documentary and probably going to stop watching soon once they start talking about the awful stuff but yeah day in the life of a woman doing her best I guess
