Do I think the rat grinders will be revived if the bad kids survive? Yes. Do I think all the rat grinders will be revived? Not necessarily. Do I think all the rat grinders will die? Again not necessarily but it has been a kill or be killed situation.
I think, if they die, the most likely ones to be revived are Mary Ann and Buddy. Lucy if possible will definitely be revived. After that I feel like Oisin and Ruben are a who knows kinda situation. I genuinely don’t think they’re gonna revive Ivy or Kipperlily though. Ivy cause she was kinda just the least relevant rat grinder and Kipperlily cause she’s the most antagonistic (and has always been the most antagonistic even before being rage crystaled).
I feel like buddy and Mary Ann are the most sympathetic current rat grinders and so I feel like they have the highest chance of redemption. This definitely could be me just really really not wanting them to perma die but I do feel like they’ll have the highest chance out of all the others. And I also feel like kipperlily has the lowest chance of redemption (though it would be cool if she did! She’s also just the most antagonistic and least sympathetic out of them)

My brain rot combines everything i touch so uhhhh dark rise dnd au
Will is a 'human' Bard Sorcerer multiclass. He is Collage of Whispers Bard, and Shadows Sorcerer and he tells people he is only a Collage of Eloquence Bard. Will isn't overly athletic but he is quick and dexterous and very charismatic so the charisma classes suit him well imo, especially as Bard focuses on both rallying allies and crowd control.
James is a High Elf Sorcerer, Aberrant Mind. You could also give him a couple levels in Fighter considering his Steward Background but since he rarely uses his Steward training in the books, we'll just go with Sorc. Again, a charisma build suits James wonderfully.
Violet I think would be mechanically a Leonin but visually human; I was also considering a Beasthide Shifter but I think the Leonin suits better. She would be a Totem Warrior Barbarian with the Bear stats reskinned as a lion. You'd want to do some homebrew to make her shield into a weapon, or just give her some form of bludgeoning weapon and flavour it so her shield functions as both a shield and the weapon. Overall she is a Strength and Con build, an absolute tank.
Now the Stewards I see as a Paladin order but I think taking your whites would be the equivalent of taking your oath, so Cyrpian would be a Half Elf Champion Fighter. He would have intended to multiclass into Paladin. He might also suit Battle Master but I think the overall concept of Champion Fighter, trained perfection and control, suits Cyprian. Despite aiming to be Paladin, he would have shitty Charisma. I love Cyprian.
(Justice would have been a Half Elf Champion Fighter/Oath of the Ancients Paladin)
Kathrine and Elizabeth would be functionally Aasimar but neither would have a class. They'd probably suit Scourge Aasimar since Radiant Consumption most reflects the power of the Lady
And Visander would have been High Elf Oath of Devotion Paladin, and Battle Master Fighter but as of his death has changed oaths and now exists in Kathrine's body so he is an Aasimar Oath of Vengeance Paladin, Battle Master Fighter. Though you could also definitely argue Cavalier Fighter as well.
Sarcean, Anharion and the Lady I'm a lot less sure about since we don't know their vibes super well but Sarcean still feels like a Shadow Sorcerer, but also probably a Necromancer Wizard. Anharion as the Betrayer has very Oathbreaker Paladin energy, and was probably formally Oath of Devotion like Visander. The Lady probably best suits Divine Soul Sorcerer, which is a nice fit with Sarcean and would be part of why her descendants are aasimar.

DS9 Characters as their DnD Equivalents
Sisko: Sisko imo would be a human Abberant Mind Sorcerer.
Abberant Mind Sorcerer: An alien influence has wrapped its tendrils around your mind, giving you psionic power. You can now touch other minds with that power and alter the world around you by using it to control the magical energy of the multiverse. Will this power shine from you as a hopeful beacon to others? Or will you be a source of terror to those who feel the stab of your mind and witness the strange manifestations of your might?
Kira: I think Kira would be a Tiefling or Deep Gnome Oath of the Watcher Paladin (Cardassians are technically alien invaders on her planet), maybe multiclassed with a Light Cleric. (Not the most optimal but this is just for fun)
Oath of the Watcher: The Oath of the Watchers binds paladins to protect mortal realms from the predations of extraplanar creatures, many of which can lay waste to mortal soldiers. Thus, the Watchers hone their minds, spirits, and bodies to be the ultimate weapons against such threats. Paladins who follow the Watchers' oath are ever vigilant in spotting the influence of extraplanar forces, often establishing a network of spies and informants to gather information on suspected cults. To a Watcher, keeping a healthy suspicion and awareness about one's surroundings is as natural as wearing armor in battle.
Light Domain Cleric: Gods of light – including Helm, Lathander, Pholtus, Branchala, the Silver Flame, Belenus, Apollo, and Re-Horakhty – promote the ideals of rebirth and renewal, truth, vigilance, and beauty, often using the symbol of the sun. Some of these gods are portrayed as the sun itself or as a charioteer who guides the sun across the sky. Others are tireless sentinels whose eyes pierce every shadow and see through every deception. Some are deities of beauty and artistry, who teach that art is a vehicle for the soul's improvement. Clerics of a god of light are enlightened souls infused with radiance and the power of their gods' discerning vision, charged with chasing away lies and burning away darkness.
Jadzia Dax: I think she would be a Fey Wanderer Ranger or a Hexblade Warlock. (If the weapon fully possessed her lol) I think her being a Githzerai could be cool (Mostly because spots XD) but Aasimar or any type of elf would make sense too!
Fey Wanderer Ranger: A fey mystique surrounds you, thanks to the boon of an archfey, the shining fruit you ate from a talking tree, the magic spring you swam in, or some other auspicious event. However you acquired your fey magic, you are now a Fey Wanderer, a ranger who represents both the mortal and the fey realms. As you wander the multiverse, your joyful laughter brightens the hearts of the downtrodden, and your martial prowess strikes terror in your foes, for great is the mirth of the fey and dreadful is their fury.
Hexblade Warlock:
You have made your pact with a mysterious entity from the Shadowfell – a force that manifests in sentient magic weapons carved from the stuff of shadow. The mighty sword Blackrazor is the most notable of these weapons, which have been spread across the multiverse over the ages. The shadowy force behind these weapons can offer power to warlocks who form pacts with it. Many hexblade warlocks create weapons that emulate those formed in the Shadowfell. Others forgo such arms, content to weave the dark magic of that plane into their spellcasting.
O'Brien: O'Brien would be a human artificer, Artillerist subclass.
An Artillerist specializes in using magic to hurl energy, projectiles, and explosions on a battlefield. This destructive power is valued by armies in the wars on many different worlds. And when war passes, some members of this specialization seek to build a more peaceful world by using their powers to fight the resurgence of strife. The world-hopping gnome artificer Vi has been especially vocal about making things right: "It's about time we fixed things instead of blowing them all to hell."
Bashir: I think Bashir would be a human Celestial Warlock. It's healing focused and his power not being original to him (but from a pact) kind of echoes his genetic modification in my opinion. (If this were a real campaign, his patron could be something he doesn't like telling people about)
Your patron is a powerful being of the Upper Planes. You have bound yourself to an ancient empyrean, solar, ki-rin, unicorn, or other entity that resides in the planes of everlasting bliss. Your pact with that being allows you to experience the barest touch of the holy light that illuminates the multiverse.
Worf: I think he screams paladin. I would make him either a Githyanki (for obvious reasons) or a Half Orc (I think it'd be similar to his being torn between the human and Klingon worlds due to his uprbinging) His devotion to honor and idealistic Klingon values is very important to him, even when compared to other Klingons. I think Oath of Glory would make a lot of sense. I don't think he'd be a perfect paladin by any means but I think he'd strive to be. (Also possibly a multiclass with war cleric?)
Oath of Glory: Paladins who take the Oath of Glory believe they and their companions are destined to achieve glory through deeds of heroism. They train diligently and encourage their companions so they're all ready when destiny calls. The tenets of the Oath of Glory drive a paladin to attempt heroics that might one day shine in legend. Actions over Words. Strive to be known by glorious deeds, not words. Challenges Are but Tests. Face hardships with courage, and encourage your allies to face them with you. Hone the Body. Like raw stone, your body must be worked so its potential can be realized. Discipline the Soul. You must marshal the discipline to overcome failings within yourself that threaten to dim the glory of you and your friends.
Odo: 100% a changeling also 100% an Order Domain Cleric
The Order Domain represents discipline, as well as devotion to the laws that govern a society, an institution, or a philosophy. Clerics of Order meditate on logic and justice as they serve their gods, examples of which appear in the Order Deities table. Clerics of Order believe that well-crafted laws establish legitimate hierarchies, and those selected by law to lead must be obeyed. Those who obey must do so to the best of their ability, and if those who lead fail to protect the law, they must be replaced. In this manner, law weaves a web of obligations that create order and security in a chaotic multiverse.
Quark: Kobold I think would make a ton of sense (loving shiny things XD) I also think he'd be a Rogue Inquisitive/ Lore Bard multiclass.
Rogue Inquisitive: As an archetypal Inquisitive, you excel at rooting out secrets and unraveling mysteries. You rely on your sharp eye for detail, but also on your finely honed ability to read the words and deeds of other creatures to determine their true intent. You excel at defeating creatures that hide among and prey upon ordinary folk, and your mastery of lore and your sharp eye make you well equipped to expose and end hidden evils.
Lore Bard: Bards of the College of Lore know something about most things, collecting bits of knowledge from sources as diverse as scholarly tomes and peasant tales. Whether singing folk ballads in taverns or elaborate compositions in royal courts, these bards use their gifts to hold audiences spellbound. When the applause dies down, the audience members might find themselves questioning everything they held to be true, from their faith in the priesthood of the local temple to their loyalty to the king.
Garak: I think Garak would be a Drow 100%, I also think he'd be a Mastermind Rogue.
Mastermind Rogue: Your focus is on people and on the influence and secrets they have. Many spies, courtiers, and schemers follow this archetype, leading lives of intrigue. Words are your weapons as often as knives or poison, and secrets and favors are some of your favorite treasures.

Calvin and Hobbes, Scooby Doo, and Winnie the Poohwere my first special interests (and also the reason I was diagnosed with autism lol)! Pet sitting sounds so fun!!! I LOVE animals and would definitely pet sit if I didn’t have fur allergies lmao. I love hanging out with my grandma while she watches my uncle’s dogs though lol.
I like how eclectic you are, and your vibes are equivalent (imo) to a warm summer day when you swam earlier and took an edible and it makes your face feel toasty. Idk if that makes sense, but it’s a very nice vibe.
my day is going great! i’m doin a murder investigation inside dnd and I have gone full Velma lmao.
Thank you for taking time out of your night to respond to my ask!!
Tumblr media
AAAAAAAAAAAAAA YOURE MAKIN ME BLUSH LIKE A CHERRY ITS SUCH AN HONOR TO HAVE SUCH A SWEET AND GREAT MESSAGE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!

working on my ds9 dnd builds
i started these forever ago and never got around to posting them here, have been workshopping them a bit on my dnd twitter. i’m aiming these builds for level 10 as of now, will probably make actual character sheets once the semester is done.
sisko - fighter 3 (battle master)/warlock 7 (the celestial). obviously the prophets are his patron. proficiency in cook’s utensil’s from student of war.
kira - paladin 10 (oath of vengeance). because you know our favorite major is all about fighting the greater evil and meting out that sweet sweet smite damage.
jadzia - wizard 10 (bladesinger). smart as fuck, but also likes to hit things with pointy things.
odo - druid 2 (circle of the moon)/rogue 8 (inquisitive). just enough druid levels to get those sweet sweet cr 1 wildshapes, but the real focus is on his detective skills.
worf -  barbarian 5 (path of the ancestral guardian)/fighter 5 (battle master). wasn’t sure where to split the levels on this one but i definitely wanted him to have a mix of that klingon ferocity and his keen tactical mind.
bashir - sorcerer 10 (divine soul). i know he should be a healer but let’s face it... our boy is not the cleric type. figured getting the gods to mess around with your kid is a good enough equivalent of genetic engineering maybe, and this way he still has healing spells.
quark - rogue 4 (thief)/bard 6 (college of lore). not gonna lie, i seriously considered college of glamour for him but i decided having access to cutting words was more in line.
o’brien - artificer 10 (gunsmith). this is the only one i am breaking my “no UA” rules for because they keep saying an official version will be released and otherwise there’s really nothing good for an engineer besides maybe a forge cleric.
i’m working on other characters as well... i’m very torn for garak, not sure if he should be an assassin rogue or college of whispers bard. honestly no idea yet about ezri, whether i should just make her a wizard with a different subclass or go completely different (she wouldn’t be bad as a cleric imo). jake is a child so let’s face it he’s probably level 3 at best by the end of the show.

The Terrible Tabletop AU (or: Mickey’s Homebrew Hell)
Contrary to what I initially thought, this was actually originally my boyfriend’s fault. He asked what Sora Riku and Kairi’s dnd characters would be like. I added Donald and Goofy and Mickey. @hopeandjoy9 added input and @surskitty offered the idea that everyone except Donald eventually goes paladin, which is my absolute favorite concept.
I have a lot of time to think at work. I did a lot of thinking on various tabletop rpgs and what groups would play them. It’s...a disaster.
I’m gonna start this nightmare piece just talking about their hellish dnd game and how everyone at least starts off playing a fictionalized version of themselves for completely different reasons. Mickey is the DM because the concept was really funny at 10 pm.
So for clarity, this takes place theoretically after kh3 assuming everyone turns out okay in the end. Except Xehanort, though he’s still somehow involved. Mickey, Donald and Goofy went to visit Sora carting a whole bunch of dnd/equivalent books attained from....somewhere....
Riku uses dnd to angst over his past mistakes, honestly. Warlock, great old one patron (it most represents Darkness imo), criminal background. Made a deal with eldritch abomination for power in exchange for doing whatever it wanted, the thing made him its vessel when he realized that was dumb and tried to back out, so it forced him to do pretty shitty things. Sora’s character found a way to get him out of it in their backstories so Riku pretty much uses the whole thing as an excuse to talk about how great Sora is. Emeric says he’s a drow but I feel he plays a human. And I never feel fictional-character-plays-a-human feelings.
The eventual transition to paladin was half general character arc, half Riku getting tired of angsting. The Sora love still goes on.
Sora really just misses the adventuring life and isn’t used to being idle at home! He plays a gnome light domain cleric, because he’s used to saving people and honestly, look me in the eyes and tell me he wouldn’t. (Emeric has decided the character’s name is Gremlin because my knee jerk reaction to gnomes is calling them gremlins.) Folk hero background, because it just felt right for the one keyblade wielder who didn’t “properly” inherit it.
The paladin was a semi-logical progression.
Kairi actually really enjoys combat. That’s it. She tells everyone she’s playing an elf but refuses to say her class or mention anything about her previous life until they hit combat and she rages. Barbarian, soldier backstory, became an adventurer because she was so used to fighting that not doing so is now weird to her. Kinda like Sora I guess?
She enjoyed barbarian but she’s not actually as big on melee-only classes as she expected to be. She likes to help in ways that aren’t ALWAYS Kairi Smash.
Mickey’s Homebrew Hell was a term Riku coined due to the fact that Mickey came to session zero with fully fleshed out Homebrew races for Donald and Goofy. It was genuinely terrifying. (Mickey, if/when he isn’t DMing, opts for a halfling paladin because he doesn’t trust anyone else’s Homebrew. Just trust me on this.)
This turned out to be very helpful because Donald literally stared at the handbook for a solid thirty minutes before Sora suggested he be a wizard. The rest was just whatever the quick build said.
Mickey actually suggested Goofy build a fighter to prevent another Donald Fiasco, but Goofy responded with a long argument as to why paladin (oath of devotion, slightly tweaked to be more of a secular knightly oath) is more fitting for his personal life circumstances than fighter is. Goofy just really likes his job.
