"She's not red and certainly no queen, but that doesn't matter. It really doesn't."
something about baby blue (baby red....) losing all of her otherwordly charm when she's actually lucid, something about baby blue acting as wonderland's tyrant, replacing the figure of the red queen. something about the dichotomy between alice and the queen of hearts being part of baby blue

Outside of frenchflagshipping whats your take on diantha and lysandres relationship ?
hello anonymous i'm sorry for taking a little bit to reply i was Thinking about it (and also busy with other things)
we don't have a lot of interactions between lysandre and diantha sadly but to me the main vibe i get from them is that she would be a lot less willing to put up with his shit than augustine is. he is AWFUL to her in the café soleil scene – the way he's passive-agressively praising her while at the same time undermining her is like. textbook casual misogyny and she does clap back in ways that augustine obviously doesn't.
lysandre's relationship with women is fascinating to me bc he's the team leader with the most high-ranking women on his team (hell, if you count malva he has 5 high-ranking women for 1 high-ranking man) and team flare is also the only team with gender neutral outfits for the grunts, but also the one on-screen interaction he has with a female character is That.
in pokémas diantha is so clearly like. Over Him. like i definitely get the impression that if augustine wasn't around to plead for him and hold her back she would be first in line to fuck him up once and for all LOL so without augustine in the equation i do think she would take a loooong time to come around. i think they could have a cordial relationship but lysandre definitely would keep fucking it up by being Like That
i do think lysandre sees her as a chosen one but it's very Telling that he focuses on her being a beautiful actress rather than on her being the Champion (realistically you could argue that him not mentioning that is so that her being the Champion is kept a surprise for the player but i'm going for the watsonian reading here) as a tangent, i also think it's interesting that a lot of augustine/lysandre fanfic focuses on lysandre seeing augustine as chosen not just bc he's a pokémon professor but bc he finds him beautiful – it makes sense irt his character motivations but it's not really something that's like. textual. while it is textual for diantha bc she's a woman and you know
ofc it's not just all about beauty for him – she's also passionate and dedicated to her craft. she's giving all of herself bc acting is all about giving and turning yourself into a spectacle for others which are things lysandre also aspires to. so basically i guess my take is that he really likes and admires her (the same way he does with augustine and how he's giving a lot of himself thru being a pokémon professor as well) but he's absolutely fucking godawful at expressing it. obviously whether the takeaway you're supposed to get from it is that he doesn't care or that he's just bad at being tactful is up to you (for me i think it's a bit of both, honestly)
lysandre 100% would benefit from having someone around who thinks he's full of shit and doesn't put up with what he's saying and doing no matter how well he says or does it so someone like diantha who's like "you are a weirdo and your vibes are rancid" to his face would only help him better himself 👍

Playing d&d today. My character sees an old woman struggling with a cart and helps her home. Lady is clearly a witch from the contents of her house (cauldron, potions, bones, frog jar). DM asks to roll perception. Roll an 8. “You don’t notice much.” I help unload her stuff. Since I see more room, asked to roll again. Roll perception of 8. DM sweating. Old lady asks me to get her a trunk from her dark back room. Character unsuspecting while player dying inside. Enter new room, invited to roll perception. Roll an 8. Get the trunk. Pick it up. Offered a final chance to roll as I’m going back out. Roll perception. It’s an 8.
The odds of this are 1 in 160,000, or 0.0006%. I am
Anyway she was a Babayaga

1 for gloria and 2 for rocio?
What’s the lie your character tells most often?
I think a lot of Gloria’s lies in her day to day life are around the lines of “I’ll pay you back” or something like that LOL, she’s very irresponsible with money and not above straight up lying meaning her reputation is kinda terrible. She tends to ditch people and avoid responsibility in general. If you make plans with her there’s a solid 50% chance she just won’t show up and you’ll never hear from her again. The other 50% is she shows up and you still never hear from her again
2. How loosely or strictly do they use the word “friend”?
The people in Rocio’s life are usually only interested in them professionally/politically, and the few that actually view her as a person (prior to the story theres like quite literally 2 of them) tend to be very close, so there’s not a lot of conflict over whether they’re close enough to be called their friend yk. She definitely considers them as such— even though it makes her uncomfortable to be close to people she does appreciate everything they’ve done for her. Like, they would have straight up died if not for Yiming. They put a lot of faith in the people they’re close to, maybe even too much, + though being dependent on others frustrates them they don’t tend to resent people because of that. In terms of actually using the word though. I think she’d hate implying things about her relationship with others because she doesn’t think it’s anyone’s business at all. So she’s more likely to avoid it and talk about them however is directly relevant to the situation. Like instead of “you can trust him, he’s a friend” it would be “you can trust him, he’s harmless” or whatever. Sometimes coming across as insulting because of that lol

I'm still so baffled by the time this one person messaged my wife to say something along the lines of "Okay but it's metagaming if my PC actually cares about your PCs wellbeing." (This is after being in a consistent campaign together for like 2 years) Because I had been trying so hard to get this person to understand why they majorly sucked to play DnD with because they wouldn't put in the effort to care about anyone else or their characters.
And it was just like... Way to prove my point SO hard it's not even funny.
It's been over a year now since that comment and nearly a year since we've spoken to that person so it is actually really funny now. Like looking back on how absolutely stupid that whole thing was.
