SheProp challenge day 29: Cosplay outside my comfort zone Comic version Wonder Woman was one I did originally because my charity group didn't have one, and I was the tallest. I was worried about doing her justice, as at the time, I didn't know much about her, that's changed since, but back then, I didn't feel comfortable cosplaying such and iconic character not knowing much about her. I also had only made one corset before, and never an overbust. Worbla was new to me as well, I had only done very small projects with it before this one. 💜🔥Day 2 of the #shepropchallenge, is “Most Recent Cosplay” • The only thing I made and (mostly) finished this year is my original design Spyro the Dragoness. She had literally been on my wishlist for 3 years prior but I decided to finally make her for the #CosplayMetGala at Katsucon. I had a lot of fun designing something completely unique, even if I suffered over the details. I wanted to have historical medieval 12th-14th century elements but make it FANTASY ✨ This is one I really want to revisit and add a TON more to. SheProp challenge day 27: Ooh la la!

Savage Lands Rogue is one I wanted to do for a long time before I got the confidence to do her. I’m glad I did! She went through a remake before I even wore her to cons, the first version had a lighter green and different cut. I really liked the darker, shinier green with the new cut, definitely more flattering.

SheProp challenge day 25: Favorite accessories with a cosplay I had to pick my wood elf fairy costume for this. Everyone always compliments my giant rose, I find it hilarious because it's the only part of this costume I didn't make! SheProp challenge day 24: Favorite wig I have a couple favorites, but I think Merida's wig counts as first. I made it using 1 Glinda, 1 curly clip, and 1 long weft pack in pumpkin, 1 long weft pack in dark copper red, all from @ardawigs and one cheap curly wig from amazon. I hand sewed all the wefts onto the base Glinda wig, most of which I had to curl as well. I used a curling iron at the right temp and held in place to cool with bobby pins. SheProp challenge day 17: Tackled a new material Catwoman was the first time working with worbla, I used it for the claws. This was also my first time making a corset. SheProp challenge day 13: Character I knew nothing about I've had a few of this category over the years, but Orlha from Chrono Cross stands out to me. We wanted video game cosplays and @jerikandra wanted to do Kid from the game she played. I went through the characters and picked one that had green in it that looked fun to make. SheProp challenge day 10: Cosplay on a budget/Closet Cosplay I had a hard time with this category as most of my cosplay is made with materials I buy. Anna Milton from Supernatural probably comes closest. I still need good photos, so here's some from Halloween last year. We bought the angel blades on Etsy, that was probably the most expensive part. I found the shirt and jacket on poshmark, I had to modify the shirt so it would look more like hers. The rest I had in my closet! SheProp challenge day 9: Made with new equipment

I bought a hot knife and used it for the Celtic knotwork on Merida’s bow. I hand drew lines on the worbla base and used the hot knife to create the depth. It wasn’t perfect, very time consuming, and it occasionally made the edges a bit burnt. But I love how it turned out in the end! I also used the knife to melt the knotwork into the quiver and belt.

SheProp challenge day 7: New technique learned for cosplay

It’s hard to pick a costume for this category as I’ve learned a lot of new techniques for Cosplay over the years. I chose Cersei Lannister because I used a lot of new things for the first time all in one costume.

I learned how to make chainmail and work with leather for the belt. This was also only my second time working with worbla. It was my first time making a stamp by hand cutting foam so I could get the correct fabric for the side panels, the paint used was acrylic. Also my first time doing extensive hand embroidery and beading, I researched the original dress embroidery a ton, and used a lot of the same techniques.

SheProp challenge day 6: Sewing I’m most proud of

My World of Warcraft Blood Elf Warlock costume fits the bill for this one! The gold applique was all hand cut, placed, and hand sewn on from costed spandex. It took rather a long time, and looks really impressive as an end result. I also hand sewed the gloves. The pauldrons are thick craft foam with fabric hand sewn to it.

SheProp challenge day 4: Most difficult cosplay

Movie version Wonder Woman was probably my hardest costume. I used real leather for the corset and skirt. The corset had individually glued foam pieces that I hand sewed the leather into. I had to fit the leather underwear multiple times and bring them in, I'm not used to the lack of stretch on that kind of garment. I made a mockup of the skirt in fake leather and that became the base lining that I glued the real leather to.
