In 1944 a kitten named George (short for General Electric) was saved from drowning by a U.S. Navy crew member. George was then photographed and given a liberty card and detailed health record. Source.

Working on my first-ever gallery submission! (There's no guarantee he'll be selected but even just the process is exciting.) This is Clyde, he's a ship's cat, and part of my octo-hybrid collection

thought about ship's cats today and of course my brain was like what if the Revenge had one??? found and rescued by Stede of course because he would never let an innocent animal suffer. and the rest of the crew suddenly dads harder than they've ever dadded, absolutely fawning over this poor kitten who's definitely Been Through Some Shit. but Frenchie WILL NOT go near it. because witches, terrifying, knives in their feet—come on, all the stuff everyone knows!
then one day Frenchie is sitting in a quiet part of the ship playing the lute and singing softly, and the kitten pads over and falls asleep without him noticing. and from that moment on the kitten is obsessed with Frenchie, having decidedly picked him as the favourite and squeaking and crying SO loudly whenever the lute appears. so he plays it to drown out the horrid sounds but the kitten immediately relaxes and settles in for a nap... and if he stops playing before the kitten's well and truly asleep he's subjected to MORE TINY SCREAMING

Simon, a ship's cat that served on HMS Amethyst. In April 1949, during the Chinese Civil War, the Amethyst was ordered to travel to Nanjing along the Yangtze River to relieve HMS Consort. However, before they could reach their destination, the People's Liberation Army opened fire on the Amethyst. By the time the shelling stopped, 22 men had been killed and Simon was seriously wounded. He was missing for several days before he was rushed to sick bay, and was not expected to last the night— but he survived.

(Simon aboard the Amethyst)
Simon subsequently became a celebrity thanks to press coverage and was awarded the PDSA's (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) Dickin Medal, the only cat to ever do so. In a testimonial letter, the captain of the Amethyst wrote,
"Rats, which began to breed rapidly in the damaged portions of the ship, presented a real menace to the health of the ship’s company, but Simon nobly rose to the occasion and after two months the rats were much diminished. Throughout the incident Simon’s behaviour was of the highest order. One would not have expected a small cat to survive the blast from an explosion capable of making a hole over a foot in diameter in a steel plate. Yet after a few days Simon was as friendly as ever. His presence on the ship, together with Peggy, the dog, was a decided factor in maintaining the high level of morale of the ship’s company."
Unfortunately, Simon caught a virus, which was exacerbated by his war wounds. Despite medical treatment, Simon passed away on November 28th, 1949 at the age of 2.

"Crowley wants to be a house husband." "Crowley wants to be a house wife." Nope.
Crowley wants to be a house cat. He just wants to lie in the sun and knock your water glass off the desk.

Guess who?
Plot: Leshy's being bullied by a bunch of followers and decides to hide, Yellow cat (Who I strongly want to HC name Femur) accidentally finds him while picking berries, that escalates to Leshy telling him his entire life story, as you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I decided to experiment with my formatting a bit, do you guys like this style of comic? It's much faster to produce than the usual more detailed ones I do.
