Finding out that S/O was previously suicidal
Tumblr media
[ SCENARIO ] [ Shouko, Ishida ]
[ A silent voice / Koe no Katachi ]
Tumblr media
I had read something like this in the past and I absolutely loved it!! This kind of things had helped me a lot in the past so i really hope i'm able to help someone else with this!
Tumblr media
Shouko Nishimiya
Even for being in a relationship with Shouko she normally doesn't pry for personal details about you, she won't force you to talk about things you don't want to talk about or things about your past, she prefers that if you to tell her something personal is because you feel comfortable enough to do so (and she does the same), she may just be a little pushy when it comes to problems that are bothering you in the present but aside from that she doesn't insist much
Shouko suffer from a really bad self-steem, blaming herself from a lot of things due her condition, and she had wanted to die for a long time (probably all her life), however she slowly wins more things that make things worthy to stay and continue trying, one of those things is you
Shouko may probably tell you about how she have those suicidal thoughts (or even if she doesn't have it anymore) at some point, it probably take her a while since she probably fears your reaction (not that she doesn't trust you, she just doesn't want to bother you or you to be worried over her), but it would take her even more time if she already had her suicidal attempt since in that moment she had caused even more troubles
If you open up before her it would be easier for her to tell you. When you open up to her about it she will be pretty nervous by seeing you so serious or even nervous, while you start telling her about it she will probably get the idea of what you are meaning if you don't say it directly but at the same time she doesn't want to assume
When you tell her she is between not being sure of what to tell you and wanting for you to feel free to tell her all you need and vent, she will try to comfort you by saying that she understand you and is more probably that in that moment is when she open up too (if she already told you about it she will just remind you of that). Even if you don't feel bad or insecure about it she still wants to reasure you that is okay, she understand and that you aren't alone
Shouko is really happy to have you in her life, you had become so special for her that she is even grateful to have you in her life and that is something that she repeat to herself constantly because it makes her happy, and now, because she knows that once in the past you wished to be dead she tells you from time to time how happy she is that you are still here and that she is grateful to have you in her life (even when saying it out loud make her really flustered)
Tumblr media
Shoya Ishida
It will take a while to get into a relationship with Ishida because he doesn't know much what he is supoused to do or say, but it isn't imposible. When it finally happens that you two start dating Ishida is really curious about you, he wants to know more and more about you sincerely (even before start dating) but he doesn't know if it is right for him to ask or if he is being rude by asking, so he tries to either don't even ask or do it indirectly
From his part, Ishida had been suffering from suicidal ideation for a long time and he was about to do it if it wasn't because he get the opportunity to try and make it up for his past mistakes, he knows really well what is like wanting or even thinking that it would be better if you die. Although is more probably that he won't talk about it once you two are together, even since you were friends he tried his best to be a good friend even when he didn't know what that was supoused to mean
If he ever tells you about it is because you two are having a heart to heart talk and it just slips his lips while telling you about his past, otherwise is more probably that he won't tell you about it (or at least not first)
In the case that you are the first one saying it, either because you want to say him directly or because you feel comfortable enough to tell him, Ishida will be completely shocked by it, it never crossed his mind that you will ever wish death, he was a terrible person in the past and he thought that he deserved to die, but you? In his eyes you are nothing but an amazing person and he doesn't see why, he may say it without thinking much on it but will apologize
Ishida wants to know more about it, if you let him of course, he wants to know from where it came this feeling and is more likely that he will share his own feelings about it and admit that he wanted to be dead once too
He may not tell you right away in that moment, or just say it like a simple comment, but later while thinking on it Ishida will relice how important you are to him and how greatful he is to have you in his life (even if sometimes he feels like he doesn't deserve you), so he plans to express it to you the next time he had the opportunity, even thanking you for not giving up in life because that way you two were able to meet, probably end up being a flustered mess but he really wanted to let you to know

I think A Silent Voice is a better representation of growing as a person and making up for your actions than Catra. Although Shoya wasn't a war criminal like Catra he was still an ableist bully but still tried to change when he got older and tried to make up for his past actions to his victim. Although I didn't like how the victim Shouko developed a crush on him right away I still find it better than spop and I like how Shouko's family were not so quick to forgive Shoya and he actually had to prove himself.
I'm not familiar with A Silent Voice, I personally don't like bully x victim ships even if the bully redeems themself (at least that's because I have a very personal traumatic experience with bullying), but I suppose that sounds a lot better than C//A anyway. Catra never actually changes in season 5, she never proves anyone that she's worthy of Adora's love.

A Silent Voice
Tumblr media
A Silent voice, a very popular movie that I watched about a year ago maybe more I can't really remember, all I know is that rewatching it reminded me of how amazing this movie is. There are many problems that this movie tackle such as discrimination and it takes an approach showing how those who are different do not necessarily have to change (Shouko) in order to be accepted by those around them. While Shoya does partake in the bullying and discrimination against Shouko, he is more than anything instigated by Ueno to do so as he is a timid person and all he wants to do is to fit in around everyone and find his role. This is why he erases what he writes about Shouko so she doesn't see it, because no matter who he is around he is looking to fit in with them. However Shoya over the movie changes from hating on Shouko to attempting to be her friend and comfort her seeing as he feels bad for the bullying and actions he did against her and wishes reform himself.
I would also like to add how Ueno always made sure to have Shoya appear as the bully while she was the main perpetuator of all of the bullying she would just pretend to not be a part of it anytime it came to light. Another aspect I would like to point out is how Shoyas old friends still help me when he fell off the balcony, showing that even if you are not friends with people anymore you can still make the right decision and help each other out, no matter what has happened in between you. Finally seeing the X's fall off of everyone's faces at the end for Shoya is showing how he has overcome his social anxiety of not being able to talk to anyone and look them in the eyes.

YA SORRY THAT WAS ME I can definitely see Shinobu in the more 'calm' side of gaming like animal crossing ya ^^ Kyo seems like the "competitive!!" type (he lets you win every game. definitely beats you a couple times to get that sorta 'rough' praise iykwim) and tengen seems like a survivalist kinda guy! so yeah, fnaf, resident evil, subnautica, etc etc, but he also might like Apex. he'd main Mirage no doubt WHAHAH BUT IT'S SO GOOD RIGHT??? When did you cry gimme deets WHAHAH - 🪐
yes, yes and yes ^_^ i need to sit on their lap and watch them play videogames fr
it was amazing 😭 it was a rollercoaster . . . i cried when shouko tried to kill herself and when shoya tried to save her, another part where i cried was when shoya said that he couldn’t look ppl in the eyes and he wasn’t a school person, because i understood perfectly what he meant. it hit me how he saw the ppl around him with the X on their faces and thought they would constantly talk bad about him — i think the same lol. i guess he can easily become one of my kins, since we have some things in common ( plus the suicide part lol )
i was glad for being finally able to watch it. a truly amazing anime <3

A Silent Voice
Tumblr media
word count: 620 words 02.27.23
It's a shame that I didn't see this film earlier— it's very gorgeous, and very impactful. The first portion of the film is spent setting up such a hateful character that one must wonder, "can he really come back from that?" and surprisingly, he did. A Silent Voice is a story about coming to peace with one's self, more so than earning redemption.
When we meet Shoya in the present, he's meek and kind. I cannot say this film is wholly about redemption when, well, our main character has already taken the steps to become a better person off-screen. The viewer sees a point in time wherein Shoya has continually been plagued by guilt, to where he's learned to be benevolent and empathetic. We do not see him actively learn sign language, nor do we see his social struggles as he comes to terms with them. As we're presented with the events, Shoya is already under the impression that he's deserving of his loneliness.
It is the very genuine remorse that he shows over the course of the film that make him regain sympathy from the audience. Redemption on the basis of seeking forgiveness is very difficult to handle, and often derails when that is as far as motivation goes. Shoya realized that Shouko had been protecting him from the very beginning, and guilt sets in as soon as she leaves. Shoya's motivations are much less self-serving than earning his victim's forgiveness— he realizes the hurt he's feeling is the same one he caused her, and this leads him to his goal of becoming a generally better person: less judgmental, more thoughtful.
But no matter how sorry for himself he feels, this won't undo his past mistakes. We get a peak into his inner monologue, where he creates his own narrative in his mind to justify his continuous self-disgust. Even when he might not necessarily be the subject matter (as he's done well in keeping off the limelight), he is still convinced that he is constantly being observed and subsequently judged by his peers. His terrible confirmation bias will lead him to seek out minor motions and interpret them as attacks against his character, all while believing they're deserved.
The "X"s on everyone's faces represent distance. That is, him creating a rift between himself and everyone else. This ties into my point just now— in the midst of his guilt, Shoya has deemed himself unworthy of connections, and he's stopped seeing past his own self-hatred, which he projects and assumes everyone will share and agree with. He'll question whether he deserves to have fun at the amusement park or to hang out with friends, because he questions whether he's entitled to happiness (and if everyone thinks so, too).
That is why the "X"s falling off at the end of the film is so meaningful, and the best possible conclusion for Shoya's character. The ability to meet people's eyes represent an entire change of mindset. He's not healed, nor is he completely over his guilt, but if nothing else, he sees and listens for the first time.
(No, the irony of Shoko being quite literally deaf yet in tune with everyone else's feelings while he holds the physical ability to hear yet is unable to listen doesn't escape me).
He bargains with God and promises that if He gives him the strength to save Shouko's life then he will change his ways and start communicating, seeing people for what they are rather than the image of them he's created to mislead him. Being able to discard the "X"s means he was successful at saving her, and it is his promise to himself to change and be better from that point on.

A Silent Voice
Tumblr media
A Silent Voice has been on my “To Be Watched” list for a while now, so I’m glad I was able to watch this movie. With that being said, the emotional trauma in this movie is truly disheartening. The movie centers around two characters, Shouko Nishimiya & Shoya Ishida, who go through tumultuous situations starting in their adolescent years of elementary school. Shouko is a victim of bullying due to others making fun of her for being deaf and having a notebook to communicate with those who are hearing. Shoya was one of the bullies that terrorized Shouko as well about her being deaf, until he was forced to admit he was a bully in front of the classroom. Thus, the tables turned and he was being bullied by his so-called “friends”, which ultimately leads to Shoya isolating himself from others as he continues into high school. These examples really play into the portrayal of discrimination and isolation because we see how unfairly Shouko is treated when the other children make snide remarks and rude gestures towards her. Even though Shouko tries so hard to make friends, the children always find some kind of way to dismiss themselves or take advantage of her to do spiteful things like taking her hearing aids. Shouko is a victim of isolation due to the discriminatory actions done to her that ultimately lead to her transferring schools. With Shoya, after he’s ratted out for being Shouka’s bully and admits to the teacher about other contributors, he is also bullied. As a result, we see Shoya’s mental health decline as he tried to commit suicide and he has no friends. Something I found interesting about Shoya, though, is that after his bullies sabotaged any social life he wanted to have, Shoya became so used to the isolation that he literally blocks people’s faces with X’s since he’s not used to others' company and eye contact unless he grows closer to them. For instance, with Naoka at first she didn’t have an X over her face, but after she showed her true colors (which were still ugly and bitter), Shoya put an X over her face. As the movie goes on, we see more painful thoughts and feelings come to the light like jealousy, self-doubt, guilt, and anguish. With these revelations though, especially between Shoya and Shouka, there is a new desire to appreciate life and live. A Silent Voice has a beautiful art style that beautifully showcases the darkness about life while showing the “light at the end of the tunnel” aspect of continuing to live.

How do Shouko Nishimiya, Satou Matsuzaka, Naoko Kirino, Shoya Ishida, Yuzuru react to S/O kissing them on the forehead?
S/O kissing them in the forehead
Tumblr media
[ HEADCANONS ] [ Shouko, Ishida, Yuzuru, Satou, Naoko ]
[ A silent voice ] [ Happy Sugar Life ] [ Pumpkin Night ]
Tumblr media
I've always thought that forehead kisses are so sweet, I love them a lot ❤️
chu 😙💕
Tumblr media
Shouko Nishimiya
Shoujo is so used to be treaten really bad for everyone aside from his sister and grandmother that it would take her a while to get used to the affection you treat her with
Besides she is pretty shy so it would have to be little by little, as much as she loves the affection you treat her with it makes her flustered and overwhelmed
And she isn't going to ask for it, Shouko is too shy to do it and sometimes she can't help but feel like a burden, so she will either just don't do anything or shyly do small things, such as stepping close to you so your hands/arms rub against each other or gently hold onto you from your clothes
Also, she prefers slowly and gentle gestures, since is completely opposite at how harsh she had been treated and it makes her feel safe and loved
Kisses are complety a new thing for her, although is probably that her grandmother had kissed her on the forehead or cheek is all, and thinking on kissing you is almost imposible for her shyness
The moment you give her a kiss on the forehead she is shocked and just stare at you while an inmense blush start to grow in her face, she gets so nervous and unable to look at you directly after a moment, she tries to say something but she doesn't even can form a sentence, at the end she just cover her face and get close to you, like asking for you to hide her from the rest of the world
If you do it to comfort her her reaction won't be too different, but in this case she will start to cry a little
Tumblr media
Shoya Ishida
Ishida isn't used to kindness outside of his family and for a long time he thought that he didn't deserve it either for what he had done in the past to Nishimiya
When he start a relationship with you you he is overwhelmed by the happiness but at the same time with anxiety too, he is so nervous to do something that will upset you that he can't bring himself to be affectionate, and every time you do get affectionate he gets really shy and flustered
With some time he start to get used to it but still have to be a slowly process because he is easy to get anxious and doubt himself, going for a while with just small touches like holding hands to reach to hugs and maybe cuddles
He is already really shy so when it come to get more intimate, even just a little makes his so nervous so to even think on kissing you without becoming a flustered mess will take a long time, so a small and gentle kiss in his forehead is a good start, and even so when you do it he gets really shocked
If you do it out of the blue while you two were hanging out he will get super nervous and even start stuttering, looking at everything like searching an excuse while blushing like crazy, but if you do it when the atmosphere is calmer, like you two were relaxing or even you were comforting him for something he will stare at you for a moment before lean on you and snuggle, he isn't too brave to kiss you right now but he really liked the kiss
Tumblr media
Yuzuru Nishimiya
Yuzuru isn't exactly shy but she isn't the affectionate type either, she isn't so used to the physical affection so she just shows her love in other ways
However if you are affectionate she wont mind it too much, it would take her some time to get used to and to reciprocate but she will (but it bother her a little if you are too clingy or invasive with her)
She isn't really into pda and she prefers to cuddle you when you two are alone, still she won't get shy with small gestures, but she gets flustered and will try to take revenge by teasing you and try to make you the flustered one (or either try to just brush it off and continue with whatever she was doing)
Kisses are a whole different thing, is more intimate and direct so it would take her a while to accept them (not until she feels totally comfortable), even more to give them, kisses actually make her shy even the ones on the cheek
Forehead kisses is a rather sweet and inocent gesture and she will be super confused the first time you do it before getting really flustered, and depending on when you do it she will either just look away flustered if you do it while cuddling or while comforting her, or call you out for treating her like a child (since forehead kisses are common to give them to children) if you do it out of the blue while hanging out
Maybe soft and gentle gestures aren't his favorites, prefering them mainly when she seeks for comfort, but she will end up liking forehead kisses a lot (but she will never say it out loud
Tumblr media
Satou Matsuzaka
Satou is always open with the love she holds for her partner, she isn't shy at all and she always wants to be by your side
Also, Satou always melt in any kind of affection you give her, no matter if is an small kiss or a cuddle sesion, don't even if you just express your love for her with words is always special for her and hold it close to her heart
Although, kisses are more special for her, a kiss is an expression more direct but more sweet and pure too,she loves kisses and she always give it to you with a lot of love
Any time you give her a kiss she melt and just bask on the sweet feeling, it doesn't matter if it was a kiss on the lips or not
The first time you give her a forehead kiss she was surprised, no one really has done that to her before, she stares at you for a moment before getting all flustered and she totally loves it (and may even get emotional for how sweet and cute you are)
Any time you do it she gets blushy, she loves any kind of kiss you give her, and most of the time she respond with a kiss too or with a big and thighly hug
If you do it as a way to comfort her it totally works every single time, if you do it as just a cute expression of love she will get so overwhelmed by the love that she will hold onto you and won't let you go for a long time
Tumblr media
Naoko Kirino
Naoko isn't shy at all, she had never been afraid to be herself even when the world seem to be against her, and that goes for you too since she never had problems to show the love she holds for you (but always in her own way)
Although, she isn't going to force you to do something that will make you uncomfortable, so if you prefer to go slowly she slow down for you, but that doesn't stop her from stealing some hugs or kisses from you from time to time
She loves all the affection you give to her, it doesn't matter if is an small gesture or one more big it always make her feel so excited and fuzzy inside, it gives her a bust of energy and most of the time she ends up getting pretty clingy after
She likes kisses and have no problem with give them, but it isn't like is nothing for her becouse it actually means a lot, for her a kiss is a big expression of love, specially on the lips (and she prefers those)
A forehead kiss is a rather inocent gesture, so in the moment you give it to her she gets quiet and take a moment to proces what you did, she is taking time to appreciate the cute gesture and the excitement slowly grows on her
She will get really excited by it as always, but since this is pretty cute and inocent she will be teasing you about it for a while, and she will return the gesture too (after the teasing), in the case you had did it to comfort her it totally works but she doesn't get excited, instead she gets emotional and will cuddle you for a while unable to stop smiling

Even after watching it three times and reading the manga, the story seems to hit harder with each experience. I can confidently say that A Silent Voice is the best standalone anime movie (the reason why I specify “best standalone movie” is because End of Evangelion is goated). In terms of storytelling, animation, and themes, the movie hits every mark with flashing colors. And that ENDING. Man, I get chills thinking about the moment when the X’s on everyone’s faces start to peel away. This movie has many sad moments, but the happy ending makes all the characters’ struggles so much more worth it. It’s enough to get me bawling all throughout the song that plays in the credits (which I still listen to on the regular).
The movie is so grounded and deep-cutting in the way it portrays bullying and discrimination. At first, we see Shouko getting bullied for being deaf, but the table gets flipped when Shoya gets in trouble. All the blame gets put on him as his “friends” turn their backs and outcast him from every social group. Shoya, once a kid who would do insane things, like jumping into a river, to get attention, can no longer get anyone to hang out with him. Such social isolation is enough to drive him to considering suicide, but as the movie progresses, Shoya makes more true friends that pull him from the depths, allowing him to redeem himself for his past mistakes. Shouko, too, still suffers as she grows up, which leads her to jump off a balcony. Luckily, Shoya is there to save her life. Truly the greatest redemption arc of all time.
My only gripe about the film is that it doesn't spend very much time with the supporting characters, which the manga does. Unfortunately, the manga goes on a little too long, and I much prefer the anime’s ending.
Near masterpiece
9/10 lol

Anime Movies - Seishun Romance Edition
When I was younger (seven to ten years ago?), I tend to read any kind of stories (not gore, horror though), especially those with good reviews. As I'm getting older, somehow I become less interested in romance as main story/plot. I like romance, it's adorable, exciting, heartwarming. I guess, I just become much more selective particularly with romance.
When I was making a list of anime movies I like to rewatch, other than works from some popular directors, there are some that I also considering to rewatch once in a while. Then I realized that they have seishun romance as a big part of their stories. Here they are~
Koe no Katachi 聲の形 (2016)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really like Koe no Katachi manga. The anime movie is very nice though I vaguely remember after I watched it, I felt, agh it's not that as impressive as manga. Growing up with regrets, past mistakes, and how they handle those. Mending hearts and relationships. Self-loathing. Characters personalities and their growths. Koe no Katachi is compelling. Those X on faces of people around Ishida Shoya also relatable. Love story between two main characters, Nishimiya Shouko and Ishida Shoya, is lovely. Even though romance is a big element, there are a lot to ponder about (other than romance) in this story, and maybe that's why it lingers more. I think I will rewatch this after I reread the manga.
Koi wo shita no wa (恋をしたのわ) by Aiko is a well-match as theme song.
youtube
Josee to Tora to Sakanatachi ジョゼと虎と魚たち (2020)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I watched the live action movie of this story years ago (great casts and theme song), the ending was quite heartbreaking which I thought this anime movie would also have similar ending. I was ready for it but turned out it's not. It's sweet~! Finding your true self and not giving up hope. This anime movie has some beautiful scenes, I like Josee's room!
I really like the ending song, Ao no Waltz (蒼のワルツ) by Eve.
youtube
Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai 君の膵臓をたべたい (2018)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I watched the live action movie first some time ago, it's so heartbreaking (the first movie I watched of Kitamura Takumi and he's very good), and yet I was still a bit excited to have my heart breaks again when I knew they're going to adapt it as anime movie. Emotional journey and bond between two seemingly opposite characters. When I first knew about this story, I initially thought she might be passed away later because of her disease, but damn that twist. Life really, it can be taken away at anytime, unexpectedly. The title 'I want to eat your pancreas' and Sakura's journal 'Living with Dying' (共病文庫 Kyōbyō Bunko) also thought-provoking. That moment when Shiga Haruki said "Can I cry now?" really ;;__;;
I really like the ending song Shunkashuto (春夏秋冬 haru natsu aki fuyu) and insert song Himitsu (秘密) by Sumika.
youtube
youtube
May there be many more captivating, wonderful, thought-provoking, encouraging, beautiful stories we can watch in this lifetime~
