Even princesses needed to rein in their impulses, their emotions. Despite being the example for exemplary etiquette at Hope's Peak Academy, Sonia Nevermind didn't always have a polite retort, or a change of subject, or a gentle smile that masked how she really felt. Sometimes, she simply needed to lose it, lose herself, in something else. Something that would temper her frustrations, her rage, so she never had to be caught with them. Princess before person, always.

Even if 'always' included a pushy, persistent, determined Kazuichi Souda whom, upon learning about their upcoming class picnic and how they needed to find partners and small groups in order to plan and prepare everything, had immediately sought out the Ultimate Princess. She could help him arrange a television or video games outdoors! Or help purchase soft drinks for everyone with a trip to the supermarket! Or ensure that they could readily clean their dishware after by watching him modify a dishwasher to work on batteries!

It had become painfully clear that no matter how many times she tried to get the attention of others, pretend she hadn't heard him, and tell him flatly that she would make other plans, he hadn't fully allowed her rejection to sink it. It also had become painfully clear that, in order to dissuade him even for an hour or two, Sonia would need to engage in official tutoring or princess duties, things she wasn't exactly permitted to allow friends to accompany her on. That afternoon, her supplemental lessons would involve a refresh of various military skills and drills, and dressed rather unlike herself in black training gear, gloves, and combat boots, she'd just finished climbing a rope affixed to one of the ceiling beams in the Hope's Peak gym when she'd heard a familiar, loud voice below (and thankfully, not Kazuichi's)

"Pardon?" She called breathlessly from several meters above in the air, gripping the rope as she looked down to confirm what she thought she'd heard: Nekomaru Nidai, the Ultimate Team Manager, who in his way seemed to compliment the fact the Princess of Novoselic had shimmied up the climbing rope. "Hold on, I'm coming down!"

Carefully, she allowed the rope to slide between her hands, legs, and feet bit by bit before she landed feet-first on the padded mat below. "Goodness, only a little fight?" She asked, giving him a smile, "That will disappoint my tutor and my country greatly, as I am expected to defend it with my life. I apologize, Nidai-san, were you in need of the gymnasium in order to assist one of the ultimate athlete students? I admit I did not reserve this space for today: I just...needed some time. Away from our class."

Well, one person in particular but he didn't have to know that. There was no need to be cruel, even towards someone who couldn't comprehend the meaning of no.

The morning light felt warm as Kaguya strolled through the bamboo thicket, there were many groves in the area and even near her palace---she’d slipped on one of the less formal kimono’s of her attendant Menowara. It wasn’t the first time she’d swap places with her friend, nor would it be the last. Before her father had those stone walls built around her home, she often visited and played amongst the village children, but now... Tension lingered, and he worried greatly for her well-being.

But she knew her people, hardworking and kind---she had to know with her own ears and eyes if they were struggling or facing hardships she couldn’t help them with. She paused as she neared the stream, watching bamboo leaves flutter with the passing breeze and Otogi trees reveal themselves on the dirt path. There was a sound that drew her attention, a curious---flute? No, it wasn’t a flute but it had a musical charm to it. What was that sound?

She saw a young man, one who looked close in her years, sitting over one of the smoother and larger rocks by the stream. He was playing a... leaf? He paused from his playing, tilting his head in her direction before meeting her gaze. Sharp senses, she thought, noticing his katana sheathed but no crests... Kaguya offered him a polite smile, ❝ Oh, so you’re behind the pretty sound--My curiosity got the better of me. ❞ She tilted her head, ❝ You don’t look like a familiar face, are you passing through samurai-san? ❞

Another sunny day in Iwatodai. The sun's rays reflected the bright smile on the Fool's face upon receiving a text message from her beloved Romeo, asking her out on a karaoke date. A very nice change of pace that she couldn't refuse. Saying goodbye to Junpei and Yukari, she picked up her bag and left the classroom, soon quickly descending the stairs to leave the building.

As expected, Ryoji was waiting for her full of charming smiles at the entrance, and even took her hand to kiss it and of course, thank her for accepting his offer. Hamuko giggled and kissed his cheek before they went on their way. The two made idle conversation on the way, even on the train. Although she hoped his Fangirls would give him some space, and most importantly, stop glaring at her, just because she 'stole' their man.

Finally arriving at the mall, which was crowded with students and adults alike, the two made their way to the karaoke bar. She could tell that Ryoji had something up his sleeve, judging by that glint in his eyes.

"Got something in mind, Romeo?" She asked to which he nodded his head and lead them up the stairs. Entering the building, passing through crowds, they finally stopped and Ryoji offered to sing first.

It was a beautiful, cheesy and romantic song dedicated to her. He rarely looked at the screen as his focus was on her with that dreamy smile on his face and that wink.

Her heart swelled and her cheeks flushed with joy, hands clasped close to her chest. He was such a great singer, she was impressed.

She was so lucky to have him.

“Your lucky I’m not like some cruel witch Itto otherwise I’ll make your luck hell.” ‘Though at least it’s not a eel..’ Shrugging off a shiver Zola gave a feather like peck on the back of the beetle in question, yet not before she held up her Widsith with a stare. 

“You better hope I don’t make it rain beans.”

Chie’s birthday

The squeals that came from her mouth could not have been any more obvious. While it’s truth that she wasn’t expecting such high treatment from Yosuke on her birthday, any bad thing she could’ve said had gone right out the window. “Have I ever told you how awesome you are, Hanamura?” If he was with her last name, so would she. “Ohh, this is heaven! Pure heaven! i’m not gonna ask how you managed to find a place like this! Is it free? If it’s not, then... I’ll pay you back somehow!” And with that, she was off to try anything and everything she could get her hands on.

This day was better than she expected.

"You do?" Harmony asks with a hand over her heart that slams against her chest from those words. Akira teases her from time to time, but how he said that made her doubt that is the case.

Does...Does he really feel that way?

He wants to marry her and she can't stop herself from grinning. Perhaps it may be a bit too early sicne they are still university students, but if he has every intention to marry her, then Harmony is more than willing to make that commitment.

"Akira..." Harmony steps closer to him. Then, her arms swing around him, capturing Akira in a warm embrace. "I feel the same way."

“Thanks, bro!” He gives a quick excited pat on his best friend’s shoulder before turning his attention to the box, excitedly tearing into it - as he glimpses the contents inside, he excitedly grabs the console and hugs it to his chest, clearly overjoyed to receive such a present.  “Man, I was saving up for this! I thought they were sold out everywhere!” With a wide smile, he gently sets the console off to the side so that he can wrap an arm around his friend’s shoulder, playfully tousling his friend’s hair.  “You do realize that means we’ve got to play some games together, right...?! First thing I’m doin’ is finding a copy of Smash Bros!”

I’m writing a reply to my Sonia and Nekomaru thread with @siamxshade​ and I cannot get the idea out of my head of Nekomaru becoming Princess Sonia’s coach. And instead of practicing sports drills or songs for a concert, she’s conferring with him about military strategies.

And when she’s giving speeches about various deep, heavy, emotional or otherwise no clear-cut solution topics, he’s there to cheer her on loudly and inappropriately, causing all the other politicians, aristocrats, etc. to turn and stare like “WHY IS THIS LARGE MAN SHOUTING DURING A SPEECH/PROPOSAL ABOUT UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS/WAR/DISEASE/CLIMATE CHANGE?!”

tl;dr - Sonia, as pleasant and charming as she is, has to deal with many, many difficult situations where, eventually, she will make very hard decisions that affect millions, if not more, of people. And having a very hype coach amuses me and, hopefully, makes such things easier for her.
