It's rare for Macaque to show such agitation like this. Normally, he was all smiles and condescending flair around the Monkey King. But right now? He was seething. His former partner's carelessness to the issue at hand was not helping, either. This is why. THIS IS WHY. Oh how much he loathes this damn idiot. The thought that one of Sun Wukong's children would dare to pursue Bai Hua made Macaque's skin crawl with rage and overprotective instinct. The desire to shield her from what he had to live through was too strong.

It's the way he tensed, like he wanted to lunge at the Monkey King and maul him for uttering such words. But he doesn't. Macaque's eyes briefly flicker downward to stare at the infant nestled in the other's arms, his tail lashes as he takes a moment to reign in his murderous thoughts. Then he responds in a hushed tone, for this information was extremely sensitive, he couldn't risk it getting out...

" Your son's ' friend ' is MY DAUGHTER, Wukong. Do you understand? "

     yes,  the demon bull king wielded a massive amount of strength and endurance thanks to his hulking form.   but after spending all of those years buried beneath the rubble of the earth,  it was bound to leave some wear and tear.   lugging around all this heavy armor didn’t exactly help either   ...   it seemed even fearsome demons had to take some time to relax.

     but what the bovine hadn’t expected was the second he sat down,  was for something to latch onto him,  something oddly familiar.   a quick lift of his arm later,  all too quickly spying the red coated monkey clinging to him like some kind of jungle gym.

     “ and just what do you think YOU’RE doing ? ”   he replies,  a quick but annoyed snort leaving his nostrils.   sure,  he seemed slightly displeased,  but was he making any movements to attempt at removing the primeape ?   nope.

There's a long minute where the primate could only stare forward with no reaction, face blank with detached eyes as little popping noises went off within his mind.

A slow blink brought him back to reality, ears fluttering in annoyance before he pressed his entire palm against Wukong's face.

And no, his tail didn't react to that, it's always wrapped itself around his leg shut up.
