Stormy Sky you don't shy away from expressing yourself. your emotions can be unpredictable, but you try not to stifle them. you're passionate to a fault. you are fiercely loyal and won't hesitate to defend and protect the people and things you care about. but you can be impatient at times - with yourself and with others. sometimes you turn to "easier" emotions like anger when you don't know how to handle things like guilt, grief, or helplessness

I'm not too certain about "fiercely loyal" bit, but maybe if one were to unlock his lvl.10 Social Link rank?

NAOHISA.

“Forgive me, I—" He swallowed. Naohisa’s forehead was now on the ground, completing the apologetic gesture. “I’m having unprofessional thoughts.”

[…]

"I find that I understand myself less the longer that I am around you." With one hand, Naohisa plucked two small ceramic cups from the cabinet. With the other hand, he withdrew a glass bottle of rice wine. "Everything from before has started to feel dull. I no longer feel sure of the things that I once wanted."

MIROU.

"From Kugane no less," he repeats in an amused sing-song tone. "You're quite the oddity, aren't you?"

Mirou sets the stick of charcoal on the counter and holds his sketchbook up with both hands, examining it at an angle before turning it over to show her.

"I'm rather fond of oddities."

“Their excitement doesn’t concern me,” Mirou yawns. He’s a man of singular focus. “But if it must be endured for the chance to observe you further, then so be it.”

He waves down the bartender for a glass of rolanberry juice. “Do you mind?” He glances to Valentine — his drink is apparently going on her tab.

He jolts upright in his seat, nose wrinkling from the offending smell. Eyelids still heavy with sleep, Mirou frowns at the ink-haired culprit. "That was cruel."

[…]

"No need to resort to violence, Sol. As it so happens, I was finished with it." Yawning, Mirou glances down at the tome that had served as his pillow — Fabled Fauna of the Far East — and slides it over a few ilms. He drapes himself back across the table, resting his head on his arms, and observes his merciless companion. "What are you researching this time?"

"It very nearly was violence," he complains. "What if I'd fallen and hit my head? You could have killed me." He pauses, stretching his arms out in front of him and squeezing his eyes shut. "And I was having such a nice dream, too."

[…]

"It's gone now." Mirou sighs, burying his face in his now-crossed arms on the table. A moment passes, then he props his head up, peering once again at the dark-haired viera sitting next to him. "I was somewhere warm and sunny, I think." Honey-dark eyes follow his companion's gaze to the illustration on the page. "What've you got there?"

“Hold a moment.” He grabs Sol by the fabric of his sleeve and digs in his heels, attempting to halt his companion’s march into the city. “Let me savor this.” Though still a bit pale in the face, Mirou’s usually-sleepy countenance has transformed into wide-eyed wonder. He stands still, transfixed by the sights and sounds of the city, even as annoyed passersby push past him.

"Kugane Castle," he repeats with a faraway voice. "I should like to see it up close before we leave." It does not seem like the type of place Valentine might have frequented, but it's an impressive vista regardless. He closes his eyes, committing the scene to memory.

Sunrise No matter how many times you get knocked down, you always get back up. You defy expectations and stay true to yourself. You are a leader - maybe not in a traditional sense in that others follow you, but you've carved out your own path in life. You are kind but unyielding. You have strong opinions and values. There's a part of you that just wants to make everyone else around you happy, but you know your limits - that you can only share what you have to give. You may seem unassuming to others at first but in time they will watch as you grow into something incredible.

This is very fitting for Leila, actually.

Before I got a my tumblr? You must be one of the Reveled Ancients. I have heard many glorious tales of your journeys. I am impressed you have tolerated me this long. 

Also I love that the symbol for “other” is the radioactive waste symbol. Like, “i started following your blog after a freak nuclear accident at my laboratory. It was a dark day.”

About your last post on Escaflowne : While it's true that she does a reading for Chid but refuse to help Van is quite disappointing, there is one thing I wanted to say. She chose to do the reading. She did it by herself, without being asked, and because she cared for little Chid and wanted to see something good for once. But what Van is asking her is totaly different. It's not even asking, it's more like "and we can use Hitomi's power!".

She did choose it, and many other people have responded to say the same, so I thought I’d use your ask to respond. And that’s fine, and like I said, I respect and understand her desire to do things on her own terms. But it was a risky decision, if stopping the visions was that important to her. Also, I think, sometimes, in the struggle for female autonomy (and the struggle to portray it in fiction), it can be easy to forget that there’s no weakness in agreeing to do something when someone asks, even something that requires self-sacrifice. It would have been brave and helpful and admirable. That’s why I’m a little disappointed in her. Sympathetic for sure, but disappointed. But Hitomi isn't Sailor Moon or some other traditional magical girl. She’s a much more realistic character, and real people can be selfish (and have the right to be selfish), especially in dangerous situations. So it’s not like I’m holding it against her, and I certainly don’t hold it against the show. I’d rather watch something that has women who choose themselves over others sympathetically and realistically, than something with perfect martyr angel girls. 

And just to defend Van for a moment, I do think he was being respectful here. This wasn't the same as his whole tragic “I want you…r’e power!” screw up (which, in light of this conversation, and how well he handled it comparatively, makes the coming mistake even more face-palmy). I can’t understand Japanese, so a lot of the signifiers for polite vs. demanding language are lost on me, but my subs didn't give me any indication that he was being rude, and more than that, his tone was very warm. If we consider where Van is from (and cultural sensitivity is important!), it all seems pretty progressive. He was acknowledging her power and her usefulness, and honoring her by asking her to play a crucial role in the action. That’s something I’m confident that, say, Allen would never do. He may not have phrased it as a formal request, but he accepted her refusal without argument, and seemed genuinely remorseful for asking, so I’ll save my condemnation for when he deserves it (which eventually he will).

PS: thanks for the discussion, everybody. It’s really delightful to find there’s still a community for this show (even a small one!), and to have you all respond to my rambling thoughts with support or counterpoints, and funny tags, and what have you. It always makes my day!

8 . What scent would they be associated with, if any?

Alrighty--I apologize in advance for exploding everyone's dash with responses to this meme!  XD  ONTO THE ACTUAL RESPONSE TO THIS QUESTION:

A faint smell of ozone follows Phaedra everywhere she goes.  Her affinity for storm magic and lightning/electricity spells means that she and her surroundings almost always have that fresh, clean smell that comes after a lightning storm (which is mostly attributed to the formation of ozone during lightning strikes)!

People who spend a lot of time with her will also know that she's also particularly fond of flower-scented soap (and taking long, hot baths with said soap)!
