He hasn’t visited because his father doesn’t approve of me.

We met last September (2021) in his home state at a music festival. We began talking non-stop every day. He began saying he’d come to see me.

Dec 30-Jan 2 - I traveled to him. Jan 2. We made it official and became a couple.

May 21-25 - I travelled to him and we both traveled to Florida for another music festival. (Date estimate)

July 19-21 - I traveled to him for a less than 48 hour visit due to our work schedules.

September 19-24 - I travel to his home state for the music festival we both met at originally.

A few days ago I asked him why he won’t come to visit and he said it’s because his dad doesn’t approve and he’s been ashamed to tell me. He was afraid to tell me , afraid I’d leave him. I told him it was practically torture to me that this whole time I’ve been hoping and stressing each new date he may come visit and then doesn’t.

Does his dad have a reason to dislike me? Maybe Boyfriend says dad doesn’t like anyone he’s ever been in a relationship with. 🤷‍♀️

Just not sure what to do here.

I told boyfriend I loved him and didn’t want to lose him but I also can’t keep sacrificing my self respect and dignity for someone / something that is not balanced.

I hope I am being fair to myself and this relationship because for the most part aside from this it feels right.

On the plus side, my Delta Sky Miles is less than 5k away from Silver Medallion status. I’m also way less afraid of flying than I was at the beginning of 2021 when my adventures began. Yay!
