So you’re from Charleston then, yes? What are you doing here in Auberon? We’re not supposed to have a ball or anything around the corner.

Aurora: Haha, no indeed, I’m actually here for my charity work. I help build safe houses for women and girls around the world. We’re planning to open one here by the end of the year. Matteo: Oh, a lovely cause. Perhaps you might show me around sometime? Aurora: Only if you will show me around St. Helena. Matteo: It’s a deal then, my fellow highness.

Matteo's first days

Matteo was just supposed to be me checking out the beard options in the farmer creation mode, and then I simply kept going.

So, here's how it went...

Matteo immediately ran to the beach to pick up shells to pay for a bag upgrade, only to find himself head over heels for the local fisherman.

What Matteo didn't know was that Theo's father was the first islander he'd met. He'd already sworn he's win the old grouch over, and now he only had more reason to do so.

Technically Matteo fell in love with every islander he met, and greeted each with les bisous. The man was made to love!

Kenny became the first to receive a gift from Matteo. Much like Ben, Matteo is all about the ~ vibes ~

Even the prickly Duckhorns seemed quite friendly to Matteo. The French-Italian farmer couldn't wait to get his hands on their wine!

Most of the day was devoted to clearing a patch for plants, which led to Matteo discovering a love for the taste of mushrooms. They're a great free energy booster!

It seems Matteo doesn't care much for sweets, even if he does enjoy goofily showing off his finding of them.

Despite getting sidetracked by meeting 98% of the town, only half a day passed before Matteo was spiffing up his new home.

Matteo would have loved to simply sit and chat for hours. He wasn't ready to be left alone, with no one for comfort.

Alas, Joko's shoulder pat was the closest Matteo would be able to get to physical affection until game mechanics would allow more.

As loneliness and the dark of night grew, Matteo set his plan to win over Jim into motion.

His first night in Starlet Town ended with some peaceful stargazing with the local astronomer,

Matteo died in a very horrific traffic accident, but he still had an unfinished task that he really wanted to finish. The spirits showed mercy and now he walks around as a half-ghost
