It has been Monday all day! 😂😂 . . I been working on installing new security cameras around the house today. Needless to say, I’m no good with technology so it’s been a long day! 😬😬😬 . . I will say they appear to be very tough since they’ve survived being thrown across the room a couple of times. 😜 . . At least they are up and I can identify myself entering the house 🏡 🤗 I’m hopeful they are working properly! . . Oh, and the kitchen is still clean so that’s a plus. Even the old gas station lights look pretty clean from here. . . From this view, you can see how aged the wood on our DIY island “looks”. So happy that it looks like old barn wood. . . The combination of rustic wood ladder, exposed lightbulbs, and hanging plants ties in this farmhouse kitchen look perfectly, and we’d bet this designer found the ladder for next to nothing.

“Reuse, repurpose, and enjoy,” says Gaeta. “When designing for clients, I am always looking for ways to be creative and unique, and the trend of repurposing an older item gives so much character to a space.”

Get the look: If you happen to have an old ladder or a piece of driftwood lying around, then you might be able to take the DIY route with this trend.
