Sims 2 Victorian Adventures:

My game seemed to be working, until I loaded the Grunt household in Steampunk Strangetown. Removing my test folder of new CC more or less confirmed it’s PROBABLY a mesh limit issue, so my method of tricking my game into loading everything doesn’t seem to actually work. I did two or three rounds of deleting stuff in-game, getting increasingly frustrated with how ruthlessly I had to cull stuff I thought I might use maybe.

So I compared the folder size with my medieval downloads folder, and behold—my instinct was right! I have 4 GB LESS in my Victorian downloads than medieval! I know file size wouldn’t have much to do with object mesh limit, but that seemed like a lot. So I started compressorizing my Victorian downloads folder so I could see if that helps. And, uh. I decided to download some more things. I need middle class male outfits something awful, and I keep seeing some in content but not finding them to actually download anywhere, it’s a problem. And I might have to redo some AAS downloads?

…but I saw lots of nice Victorian buy mode objects. Which frustrated me, because I feel like I barely have anything and here’s all this nice stuff and yet my game is crashing! So naturally I went and downloaded a crazy volume of furniture and decor, because that’s just what my game needs right now lol. My hope is that I can add this stuff gradually, and that much of it can replace many good-enough objects I had, especially replacing stuff that’s a little too medieval but too useful to remove. And maybe compressorizing actually does help, idk.

To celebrate the corn harvest, the Sequoyah siblings head out to the council house! Corn plays a big part in Cherokee culture, with a lot of celebrations centring around it. And, I thought, why not have them take a day off the farm and relax? It also gives them a great opportunity to meet the new townies.

Hi! I was trying to use your tmhiphopbaggy default replacement (/post/178239371345/open-overshirt-a-default-replacement-replaces) but it appears to have the texture of the outer shirt missing? I saw someone in the notes mention the same problem so I'm hoping its not just me being dumb lol

I'm not sure why that would be occurring unless there's a conflicting mesh or texture installed elsewhere in your downloads folder, honestly. Maybe it's a conflict if someone else has CC-ified or decustomized the meshes? I'm not aware of anyone having messed with this mesh other than me, though.

I know the files cross over with a YA outfit as well, so it could potentially be an issue with not having Uni installed or having a different conflicting default for the YM hiphopbaggy outfits (these will replace those also). It could also be due to a different file enabling YA outfits for Adult, which my file already does (that would be through the GZPS, which is included in the default), in which case all you have to do is make sure my file loads last... I'd try that first, make a folder at the bottom of your Downloads called ZZZZZZ or something so that it's at the very bottom & drop this file into it.

I've also checked the file in the download & all the textures are included. Normally when you have part of a mesh missing a texture it's due to the mesh having multiple groups & one isn't linked right but um... mine is one group, the whole thing is just "body", & the entire texture of each recolor is fully included in one TXTR per color, so I'm truly confused as to what else the issue could be.

I don't ?think? it's messed up on my end, at the very least.

I'm making this response public since apparently there has been more than one issue with this default (linked here in case anyone else wants to take a look).

k-707 ( 2025 EDITION ) RELEASE - FIRST WAVE

It’s finally here! Well, the first part of it—because let’s be real, this beast of a project is too massive to drop all at once ( unless we suddenly gain the ability to compress/expand time ) ;)

For now, we’re rolling out the first wave of k-707, covering :

Yes, we know ... you want more—but trust us, this is already a lot. The rest will come soon-ish ( don’t ask for dates, we’re not EA ) and as we say again and again, this is a work in progress, time for us to understand some more things with blender managing vertex painting and so on ;)

We replaced, reshaped, optimized, and obsessed over hundreds of trees and plants. Everything is optimized for directX11 ... Now, in theory, all should move right, look right, and fit right :D If you encounter a purple question mark on this new release, just send us a message. We'll see this together :)

Do not be surprised, some trees ( very very few ) are not yet modified ( -> I think about topiaries ) and some others have been fully replaced ( such as the ugly majestic and royal palms in base game )

Never forget this is still a work in progress and some changes will be done later ;)

As soon as we do some minor modifications and checks, we'll release a SECOND wave ( which should be very soon indeed )

Later ( End of February ) a THIRD and final wave will be released ...

Installation & Warnings

Each Expansion has 2 folders : one for plants, one for trees

The base game is split into 4 folders : 2 lots + 2 debug

Expansions with minimal greenery ( City Living, University, Get2Work ) are in single folder named k-hippie-k707-multi-greeny-2025

Do NOT mess with the folder structure unless you love chaos. If you merge files and something breaks, that’s on you. We won’t be able to troubleshoot Frankenstein mods ... More information on our website or into the previous post ;)

Final Notes

K-707 isn’t perfect ( yet ) :D We’re still tweaking, improving, and fixing things. We are aware some textures and styles need to be refined/modified. It will be done in time. But this is already a massive upgrade. So, enjoy your lusher, greener, better-integrated Sims world—and if you spot a tree acting weird, just pretend it’s haunted until we fix the green :D

Remember the k-mods are still and always free. Thanks to freely give a little something if you can. This is a massive piece of work and so, a massive piece of time ;)

The Klean Collection - Part 4

This month I focused on creating the Klean Home Office. I focused my attention on what a designer's home office would look like/contain. I have wanted to make shelving like this for quite some time & was excited to try out Sims 4 Studio to angle the slots, unfortunately many painful hours later after trying to troubleshoot why exactly the rotation didn't work in game, I managed to come up with a workaround, so that you can still snap flat books and deco items onto the slanted shelves at the correct angle. For some peculiar reason the rotated slots would not work unless I locked their orientation. As a result once an item snap into one of these slots it will stay at the 45 degree angle even when you snap it to a regular slot. If I did this for all the slots to work it would end up being very difficult for you to effectively clutter all the other shelves as all your items would snap to these angled slots instead. So I've created only 3 of these slots on each shelf to help you to orientate your deco items to the correct angle. They are located in the middle and either end of the the shelf, so you should be able to avoid them while decorating the regular slots on the other shelves. I think this issue is down to EA changing the slotting information in the game as it a very simple process to rotate these slots and both programmes I used to do so ended with the same result. Fingers crossed this is changed in the future so I don't have to irritate myself and you all with such a workaround and they just work how they are supposed to!

update v12 (5/21/24) holafly (israel and egypt), nomad (regional middle east), simly (palestine and middle east), mogo (israel), and airalo (discover) are currently in the highest in demand. if it has been more than 3 weeks since you initially sent your esim and your esim has not been activated, you can reforward your original email with the expiration date in the subject line. you can see gothhabiba’s guide for how to tell if your esims have been activated. if your esim has expired without use, you can contact customer service to renew or replace it.

troubleshooting hint 1: if you are trying to pay through paypal, make sure you have pop-ups enabled! otherwise the payment window won't be able to appear. (this issue most frequently seems to occur with nomad)

troubleshooting hint 2: if you are trying to purchase an esim using the provider's app, it may block you from purchasing if your phone does not fit the requirements to install and use their esims. use their website in your browser instead and this problem should go away.

you can use a referral code to get $3 off your first purchase and also make it so the person whose code you used can buy more esims for gaza. many people have been leaving their referral codes in the replies of this post and supposedly a referral code may eventually reach capacity so just keep trying until you find one that works! BACKPACKNOMAD is another code to get $3 off your first purchase, it's been working for some people but not others so try out a referral code instead if you can't get it to work. nomad also seems to be kind of sluggish sometimes when it comes to sending out emails with the codes. you can look for them manually by going to manage -> manage plans -> the plan you purchased -> installation instruction and scroll down to install esim via QR code or manual input then select QR code to find the QR code which you can screenshot and email to them. often just the act of logging back into your nomad account after purchase seems to cause the email with the code to come through though.

mogo

mogo's website is fucking annoying to navigate and i couldn't find any promo codes, but their prices are massively on sale anyway. you have to pick if you want your esim to be for iphone, ipad, or android for some reason. according to statcounter, android makes up approx. 75% of mobile markets in palestine while iphone represents approx. 25%. so i would probably recommend prioritizing donations of android esims but if you can afford multiple, try buying an iphone one too? if i can find any official direction from the connecting gaza crew on this i will update with it.

a good referral code to use for mogo is 8R29F9. the way things are worded are confusing but as far as i can tell, if you use it we both get a 10% discount on your first purchase. (the referrer gets a 10% voucher that allows them to top up in use esims, they are someone who i know has bought a lot of esims and will be able to make good use of the top-up discount vouchers!) also upon signing up it automatically generates a password for you which you can change by downloading the app. (check your email to find your account's current password)

holafly (also looking for holafly esims for egypt now)

holafly is pricier than the others and the only promo code i could find was ESIMNOW for 7% off. someone in the tags mentioned GETESIM7 as another 7% off code they had received, so if you have already used ESIMNOW or can't seem to get it to work, try GETESIM7. another 7% off code is HOLAXSUMMER7 which is valid until june 2nd. referral codes only seem to give 5% off and they don't stack. (i don't remember the source, it was on some sketchy coupon site i don't want to link to and only can recommend because i tried it myself) you can also use my referral link for 5% off if you can afford the 2% worse deal on your end, it will give me $5 credit which i can put towards buying more esims. connecting gaza has also posted the promo code HOLACNG for 5% off but since it is less than the 7% off codes and as far as i can tell does not give credit towards others to buy esims like the referral links, i would consider it lower priority for use.

i have not personally used simly so i am going to be going off of the sixth slide of mirna el helbawi's instagram guide, with some corrections from someone who has successfully purchased an esim from simly. after downloading the app and making an account, search for palestine or middle east and purchase your preferred package. the page the app takes you to after your purchase should have the QR code to send to the esimsforgaza email, it won't show up in your email receipt. someone kindly left her referral code in the tags of this post, it gives $3 off your first purchase and will give her $3 credit to put towards purchasing more esims for gaza. the code is CIWA2. (if this referral code doesn't work, try one from the notes of this post!) according to someone in the notes, ARB is a simly promo code for 25% off esims that is still working as of march 3rd.

some people have noted issues trying to sign up for airalo using the browser version of the website, it worked for me but if you are struggling you can give the mobile app a try and that should work. you can use a referral code to get $3 off your first purchase and give the code suppler a $3 credit for buying more esims. KARINA9661 is a code sourced from this post which is also a wonderful example of how using people's referral codes can really make a difference. if for some reason that referral code isn't working, you can find more in the notes of the original esim post i made here.

I want nothing more than to play with my Victorian game of Sims 2. Last time I was playing with it, I downloaded some new stuff that seemed critical, and broke my game. I got tired of trying to fix it, and moved on to using different downloads folders.

Now, I’ve had the urge to play Victorian again, and I’m trying to get my game working. But folders that should have been verified suddenly weren’t, and I had to restart 50/50. It’s come down to crashes in the Windows catalog section, when I have my full Build_Windows Folder in. Which, as far as I am aware, worked perfectly before I downloaded the new things.

I’m pretty sure the problem is object mesh limit—based on careful removal and replacement testing. But I really do not feel like I have that much stuff in my Victorian downloads folder—it for sure doesn’t rival my medieval downloads folder, which is constantly hovering on the edge of the limit. I have been trying to delete things I don’t think I’ll use, but it doesn’t seem to make that much difference—most of the time.

What seems to be working is deleting a few windows. I suspect I hit my object mesh limit just on windows. I mean, at one point when I had loaded the window catalog page successfully, I counted 132 different windows in my game—perhaps too many, but I swear I need them! I never seem to be able to delete enough to cover the rest of that build_windows folder so I can check the new stuff that was supposed to be the cause of the problem.

Anyway, I’m just frustrated, and wondering whether this is a thing, can you hit the object mesh limit for one specific type of object without hitting an overall limit, and cause crashing that way?

Infant Resize Preset

Are you sick of using demon toddlers? Do you want newborns that actually LOOK like newborns? Well you came to the right place cause one night I had a midnight thought that I turned into a reality and it was to make those toddler resize presets but for INFANTS!

The proportions look so much more newborn-like, eh? I tried my best to use real newborn references for an accurate scale!

DISCLAIMER: THIS PRESET IS FOR POSE USE ONLY. It kind of works with gameplay, but it doesn't give you any new gameplay features for newborns. They will act like infants

HOW TO USE?

STEP 1: Equip preset in CAS

The preview looks like this! And is located under body presets!

-Note that you CANNOT go back to a regular size infant without defaulting their genetic body type. So I recommend making a CAS backup just for the infant!

STEP 2: Get you some poses that work with this preset! (I have a launch day list at the bottom of this post!!)

-Resized toddler poses WILL NOT work with this preset.

-Regular sized Infant poses will work with the preset, but it may require T.O.O.L to fix the positioning.

STEP 3: Pose as normal!! If you're having trouble with positioning, see the known issues section of this post!

POSEMAKER'S GUIDE

To make poses using this preset, you must use the special rig provided in the download section of this post! It's exactly like posing with resized toddlers.

-You must NEVER use the reset rig button. That defaults the rig to regular infant size. To undo changes please use alt + R and alt + G

KNOWN ISSUES

Infants are notoriously glitchy and for some reason when they're small sized, they act just a little bit crazier.

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND YOU DOWNLOAD T.O.O.L TO HELP SOLVE THESE ISSUES.

-If your teleporter is throwing last exceptions, your small infants may become misaligned with their caregiver's. This is easily fixable with T.O.O.L.

-When posing on an incline, the infants WILL MOVE OUT OF PLACE. These kinds of misalignments can't be fixed with T.O.O.L. I recommend only posing on flat terrain.

-This is not an issue, but more of a suggestion. If you're posing with some kind of bed, these babes are tiny and hard to click on. I recommend downloading a camera mod such as this one to get down low under the beds.

Happy Hour

These are a birthday gift for MoodySimss! Be sure to check out their awesome occult-flavoured story on Insta! They asked for "anything dramatic" and for some reason my brain interpreted that as pub aggro. 😭🤣 There's even two molotov cocktail poses because?? I've never been in a barfight I dunno what happens in one.

Pack contains 8 solo poses and 2 couple poses (the first couple pose includes a slight height difference) plus all-in-one. Poses made with masc and femme rigs and as always there may be floating or clipping depending on Sim body type and clothing.

Note: if your Sim has finger sliders, this will affect the position of the accessory. Thank you to @adjusted-karma and @electricwhims for troubleshooting that, and especially to Nugget for listening to me whinge while they were trying to work 🤣

another weird cc issue has come up for me where any nail cc using shadylady's original nail mesh just... looks like purple soup in my game? Despite the nail working completely fine on a previous install. Has anybody else experienced anything like this?
