This is an advanced exercise & POWER combo!
🔻Alternating explosive Hig Hinge pattern with Lunge in B-Stance overloading single leg
🔻B-Stance - 85% of weight in the FRONT leg, back leg is only assisting on tip toes *see details on form explained in my older reel
However this is a Compound movement (every muscle in the body working to perform it🔥)
SWING
▪️As explossivelly as you can, push through front leg only and use the back leg as assistance to balance
CLEAN
▪️Core stability and engaging your core, lats and shoulders becomes important as you are holding the weight at the chest
REVERSE LUNGE
▪️Slow Down and control the movemet landing into Lunge
❓How to incorporate: 6-8 reps/side for 3-4sets in your lower or totaly body training session. 🔁 REPEAT every week to practise & progress

Functional training is what I love the most about these at home workouts, which is why I don't mind gyms being closed. Single leg balance, bodyweight, weight bearing and moving along diagonals are 4 major components of what I believe defines a true functional exercise. In addition you get some great mobility with this strengthening move! First is a single leg RDL on a BOSU with a diagonal reach to really work those PNF patterns while engaging the core on an uneven surface. Second is the same pattern on an even surface. @chadhargrove1 ・・・ Ah, the Bulgarian Split Squat... Dare I say it, but it could be the best leg exercise out there. By all means, disagree, but it's a tough one to top. Edit: SHIT I SPELT PARALLEL WRONG. Big time glutes and quads, single leg hip stability, and hip mobility due to the seperation the hips through, differentiating it from the typical squat. Amazing for anyone that walks or runs. Athletes or regular people. It'll rev up your metabolism too. Just remember to control on the way down and if it's too hard -- and it may well be -- start off learning to split squat first. Prepare for the burn and give it a shot. Sets as low as 5 and high as however crazy you are. As physical/occupational therapists and personal trainers, we work with clients with all types of fitness goals; however, because of our backgrounds, we specialize in working with post orthopedic surgery and post outpatient rehab clients, with the majority of our clients being total hip and partial/total knee replacements. Just because outpatient therapy has concluded does not mean exercises and building mobility, strength and balance has to end! At TBP, we ABSOLUTELY love incorporating multiple training methods into one exercise, not only is it efficient but the challenge is clearly visible in these examples. Sara performing single leg standing with battle rope flies and squats with battle rope double waves to work balance, stability, upper and lower extremity strength, and cardio. Each move for 20 to 30 seconds. Machines for cardio? Rarely. This is how we train cardio. Why? Because we train like athletes and results are visible in our clients. Mr. BOSU makes another appearance again with this lung bursting, leg burning exercise. Kettlebell flows are one of the best exercise techniques when it comes to metabolic efficient exercise regimens. One piece I've seen often overlooked with them is the missing balance aspect. Here we have 3 moves that make up the flow. 1) retro lunge to march 2) single leg deadlift with a row 3) single leg bent over rotation 1+2+3= a great kettlebell flow that works strength, balance, stabilization and mobility. We have emphasized repeatedly the importance of single leg training and how important it is to improving strength, stability and injury prevention. Here is an offloaded split squat knee drive using a @bosu_fitness BOSU. We certainly use this with our post outpatient rehab clients who have undergone total/partial knee, hip and even toe replacement. The key is alignment, alignment, alignment with this move. Maintaining a direct line from hip to knee throughout to reduce shearing forces on the knee while stabilizing the ankle and hip. This can be done with or without the weight to make it a calisthenic exercise. Add a twist to your walking lunges to challenge your stability throughout your body while maintaining the great benefits of a lunge for your legs. ‐------ Train along all planes to really make the movement functional- making it more athletic simultaneously.
