Day 8 - Skandasana or perhaps known as Ardha Malasana. Side lunge or half yogi squat. . There are so many variations of postures, not because one is more advanced than the other, but because every body is different and each body needs a version of the posture that is suitable for them. We can all be in the same flow at the same time and make it bespoke and unique to our body. Just by taking the variation right for our body in that moment. Working at our edge. . Great for stretching the groin and inner thigh. Helps with tight calves and ankles too. No need to go this low, you can keep the bum as high as knee if it feels better. No need to press the her to the earth, you can keep it lifted. . This is a great posture to open the hips for wide angle poses such as #upavishthakonasana #goddesspose #prasaritapadottanasana . Day 2 of #yogaroulette is #skandasanavariation with the bind. If the other hand is hard to reach, use a strap or towel or just wrap that arm around your bent knee as far as you can! From wide legged forward fold, come onto your fingertips and gain length in your spine. Start to bend into your right knee, pointing your right toe slightly outward, making sure your knee and toe are pointing in the same direction. Walk your hands on the floor over to the right, then sit upright into the sitting squat as much as possible, bringing your palms to touch at your heart. From here, swing your right arm out to your side, hand open like you are about to shake someone's hand. Flip your palm so your thumb is facing down. Wrap your arm around your knee and try to grab your left hand behind your back. If the hands don't touch, try a strap or towel and try to inch your hands toward each other. Breathe for 5 counts, then take the posture to the other side.
