SWEDENDE part 3: Hello Angel!

Arne Jacobsen (Feb. 11, 1902 - 1971) was a brilliant Danish architect and designer - world famous for his chairs which have been particularly beloved by American Presidents from Kennedy to Obama…
Jacobsen was a Modernist pioneer in Danish architecture, as witnessed by his own Functionalist house in Charlottenlund, Copenhagen from 1929. He also designed a beautiful gas station a bit up the coast in Skovshoved in 1936.
The images here show his iconic chair, The Egg - created for the SAS Royal Hotel across from the Copenhagen Central Station. You can see Arne Jacobsen inside the hotel, which is his chief Gesamtkunstwerk (1958-60) in the first b&w photo. In the other he is lounging in the Egg chair in double exposure. If you stay at the hotel, ask for Room 606 which is fully preserved in the original style with all the furnishings.

WE ❤️ Skovshoved! Where is Skovshoved? It’s in Denmark and it’s heading to a cafe there along with several other big signs. They asked us to design a mix and match font set up with a mix and match hand painted pattern and color finish. This big one was a labor of love!! Tomorrow it ships to Denmark. . . . . #neonsigns #customsigns #marqueesigns #functionalart #handmade #nashville #tennessee #skovshoved #denmark #toplinesignco #musiccityneon #signmakers #signshop #neon #marquee #led #shopsmall #neveroutsourced https://www.instagram.com/p/B_vcm-oljXE/?igshid=1n5t9idp03a97
