Today’s #marchmeetthemaker2020 is a topic I’m just not comfortable with, branding. I don’t really fancy myself as a producer of a product (even though I do) so it’s hard for me to grasp the concept for my work. I am an artist and try to speak with my work. The story might be contained all on one piece or may be a sentence in a grand novel that spans many pieces over years of production. I mean how do you brand that? Drumroll please 🥁. Here is the final view of skullopus discovery, before it heads into the kiln for a long hot time. Once it is fired I’ll make decisions about adding more color, maybe do a little sanding to wear it, and then apply a black wash. The other margarita pitcher and glasses. Drawing on large smooth surfaces like the pitcher is so much easier than the undulating ones of the cups.
